Re: [one-users] Strange behavior of ONE + EC2 API when using port forwaring

2010-08-13 Thread Christian Baun
Hi Jaime,

I erased the forwarding rules, changed the line in
/srv/cloud/one/lib/ruby/cloud/econe/EC2QueryServer.rb
and did a stop/start of econe-server.

When I send a request for a list of instances now, the result is a huge ammount
of output.

...
boto.exception.BotoServerError: BotoServerError: 500 Internal Server Error

Re: [one-users] OpenNebula 2.0 beta - Hybfridfox and Euca2ools

2010-08-13 Thread Christian Baun
Hi Ricky,

I had the same error message when using boto. The Euca2ools use boto.
http://code.google.com/p/boto/
Hybridfox/ElasticFox was working out of the box.

Try using the IP of the ONE server instead of the FQDN.

Best Regards,
   Christian

Re: [one-users] reduce monitoring interval doesn't work under 30 seconds?

2010-08-13 Thread Jaime Melis
Hi Tobias,

there is a variable which is not included in oned.conf called
"MANAGER_TIMER". This variable represents the interval the the core uses to
evaluate periodical functions, like polling, etc. It's set by default to 30.

Try adding this to your oned.conf (without removing the
VM_POLLING_INTERVAL):
MANAGER_TIMER=10

regards,
Jaime

Re: [one-users] using real disk partitions for storage?

2010-08-13 Thread Jaime Melis
Hi Dan,

You can look inside the tm_mkimage.sh and modify it accordingly to your
needs. For example, you could comment out the line (for nfs driver):

 41 exec_and_log "mkfs -t $FSTYPE -F $DST_PATH"

regards,
Jaime

Re: [one-users] using real disk partitions for storage?

2010-08-13 Thread Dan Yocum

Hi Jaime,

Thanks for the tip.

I realized late yesterday that allocating and formatting a disk
partition requires root permissions, which the oneadmin user doesn't
possess. It might be worthwhile to re-think the level of permissions
and the write access available to certain block devices. Maybe put
oneadmin in the 'disk' group and grant write access on certain
partitions on the worker nodes...

Anyway, since this is a one-off installation, I just used virt-manager
to create the VM.

Thanks,
Dan
