Re: Running tests in another jvm than specified by JAVA_HOME

2003-12-24 Thread Michael . J . Brown

Start here:

 http://maven.apache.org/reference/plugins/java/properties.html

Change maven.compile.executable to your 1.3 JDK's javac and fork the
compilation and unit tests. Can't say that will run the tests under 1.3
but will certainly compile them.

 Mike

My JAVA_HOME point to a jdk 1.4.2 installation, but compilation and
tests should be run by the jdk1.3 jvm.

Is there a project specific property i can set to change the jvm?

simon

Re: deploy using ftp

2003-10-29 Thread Michael . J . Brown

Hi there,

Still no luck? Try using netcomponents rather than commons-net.
Commons-net is the replacement for netcomponents, but on futher
investigation my setup still has netcomponents rather than commons-net.

Hrm, sounds like you cannot see the FTP optional Ant tasks underneath
Maven.

You definitely added the jars to the [root] section of forehead.conf?

Hi,

That's fine :)

The ant-optional and commons-net will need to be in your maven lib
directory. Also edit forehead.conf so Maven can see these jars.

The code should go into the site plugin.jelly file, not into your
maven.xml. Then just change your maven.site.deploy.method property to ftp
and you should be away. You need to create the directory on the server as
the plugin will not do this automatically for you. We decided this was a
Good Thing. The directory has the same name as your project id.

Cheers,

 Mike

Hi,

Its actually this patch that I have been trying to use. How do I use it
properly? I have copied the code into my maven.xml file and I am using
ant-optional-1.5.2 and commons-net and netcomponents as dependencies but
I still
receive:
taskdef class org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.optional.net.FTP cannot be
found

thanks

The ant task can process ftp:// urls, and it's a core task. I
find it a lot easier to use this than stuffing around with NetComponents.

[PATCH] Checkstyle plugin using URL

2003-08-14 Thread Michael . J . Brown
Hi,

The archives are unavailable at the moment, so I cannot see if there has
been any discussion on this. Apologies in advance if so!

We wanted to be able to specify a URL for the checkstyle config file, so I
modified the plugin slightly to allow this. This version uses the
configURL attribute of the checkstyle ant task, converting files to URLs if
necessary.

A url is specified by the 'maven.checkstyle.propertiesURL' property.

Attached is the updated jelly file and a diff, both taken from the latest
version in CVS. I'm pretty new to Jelly, so it may not be as elegant as
possible, but hope it's useful anyway.

Regards,

 Mike
