Re: How to Alt + Enter on mac?

2020-04-22 Thread Malcolm Fitzgerald
These keys are modifiable in Systems Preferences, so if you're using a
keyboard that hasn't been manufactured for Apple, you can tell another
key, e.g., the Windows key, to be the ALT key.

Re: NetBeans - log file format

2020-04-22 Thread Arcturus Bootes
This is something I have been wanting to ask for a long time too.

It would be really useful when collecting logs from users of our app. I did
see http://wiki.netbeans.org/DevFaqAddTimestampToLogs which I haven't
tried yet - but I would be curios to know the reasons why it wasn't already
included.

Thanks.

I see in the popup 'Alt-Enter shows hints' and on macOS Mojave Alt + Enter
does the job. The key with 'Alt' on it, not Cmd, not Ctrl.

Problems with Consolas font in NetBeans and Windows 10

2020-04-22 Thread Thomas Kellerer
Hello,

I am using the (built-in) Consolas font for editing in NetBeans (and all other
code editors actually).

It seems that the line height in the NetBeans editor is a bit too small and
cuts off the top most pixels.
This isn't really a problem, except for upper case German umlauts (ÖÄÜ).

However the output window (using the same font) does not suffer from this.

I have uploaded a screenshot to show the problem:
https://i.imgur.com/g8gGvLK.png

I remember in very old NetBeans versions it was possible to influence the line
height in the editor, but apparently this isn't possible any more.

Currently I run NetBeans with AdoptOpenJDK 13, but this was already the case
with 11 as well.

This happens both in 11.3 and 12-beta3
I am using Windows 10, and this is not a High-DPI display (standard 1920*1200
monitor)

Any ideas?

Regards
Thomas

[java] [j2ee] [jms] [payara] Slow deployment due to JMS destination?

2020-04-22 Thread Stefan Obpacher

Hi everyone!

Since using NetBeans 11.3, deployment of my EAR-Project to payara is
really slow.

I have about 20 message driven beans in my EJB-Module and for every
single one of it the following output is written to the console
during deployment:

>>...
End point determines destination name,
Res name: javax.jms.Queue,
JNDI name: java:global/jms/
descriptor name : |#]
...<<

On every occurence of such a line it takes a few seconds before the
deployment goes on.

In NetBeans 8.2 and payara 4.1.x it was ok.
Then I upgraded to NetBeans 11.3 -> Slow behaviour.
Then I upgraded to payara 5.201 -> Worked a few times, but now again:
very slow deployment.

Do you have any ideas or advice for me?

Running on Win 10, JDK 1.8
If you need further information, please let me know!

Regards,
Stefan

NetBeans - log file format

2020-04-22 Thread gmail Vladimir Koković

Hi,

Is there any specific reason why the NetBeans log file does not have at
least a date and time option in a single row?
