I would recommend you to keep it, as it will allow you to preview and print DOC and DOCX documents without any formatting/feature loss. Do you want to try to restore its windows again?. Larry, The complete message is, “The application”OpenOffice” can’t be opened” It has the “Finders icon in front of the quotation mark and the small number (-1712) just below the message. To close the dialogue box there is a box in the lower right hand corner that says “OK” That is the complete description of the message. Für Windows-Nutzer gilt: Die Zelle, deren Inhalt kopiert werden soll, anklicken oder anwählen, dann nacheinander die Tasten F2, STRG-A, STRG-C drücken. Error 1712 refers to an application timing out. Open Activity Monitor.app (Applications/Utilities in Finder) Look for OpenOffice under Process Name Force quit OpenOffice. No, installing OpenOffice will not delete any documents. What may happen is OpenOffice will become the default application for file types it supports.
