In as much as Apache OpenOffice is offered gratis by The Apache Foundation, any 100% money-back guarantee would be, under United States law, "advertising puffery". This "advertising puffery" exemption exists for The Apache Foundation, precisely because they distribute their products gratis. If goods are gratis, there is no money to be refunded, and hence any money-back guarantee is an obvious and blatant exaggeration. > For the OpenOffice software as for the ordered CD (total of € > 29.95+14.95=44,90) > (CD never received) Take that up with the vendor of the CD, which was neither Apache OpenOffice, nor The Apache Foundation. > *Please books, as you promise, the money back asap to our account NL82 > RABO 0117733687* Take that up with the vendor of the books, which was neither Apache OpenOffice, nor The Apache Foundation. jonathon signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
Re: 100% money-back quaranteed use
You did not have to buy OpenOffice. It's a free download from www.openoffice.org. However, there are some who sell CDs. You apparently bought from one of them and you'll have to get a refund from them. Re: importing xml file into calc
Hi Mariya, what kind of xml is it? There exists already some filters and perhaps one of them will open your file. Or you will find an existing filter in an extension. Are you forced to use xml or do you can get another format, e.g. csv, as well? OpenOffice 4.1.1 Calc implements the standard ODF 1.2. You find the documentation in https://www.oasis-open.org/standards#opendocumentv1.2 and especially, for the grammar, the schema http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-schema.rng There exist some small additions, but you can handle them later. Re: 100% money-back quaranteed use
Hi Herman, Your e-mail has reached the public mailing list for users of Apache OpenOffice, which is open source software. It is developed collaboratively and made available to all without charge through http;// openoffice.org/download/ . Whoever you paid is unrelated to this project and community. If they have represented themselves differently, it's possible you have been defrauded although I've insufficient information to make a judgement. I recommend you contact the consumer protection service for the state where you live and ask for advice on how to recover any money you have paid. Sadly we are unable to help you beyond giving this advice. I am an individual member of the Apache OpenOffice community, responding to your message in a personal capacity, and you should reply to the list address (users@openoffice.apache.org) rather than to me personally if you have further questions, such as about file compatibility and steps you might take to improve fidelity. Re: Problem
If you have files that cause a crash them perhaps you can open a bug report and attach your files... I routinely have far more than two files open with no problems. Sort the act out please and get it corrected.
