2019-08-14 Thread Richard Lyes

Hello Steven.

Saved to Documents, ODT and RTF files and Word copies.

Windows 10.

Update All Links?,

Yes an No tried both failed.

Have deleted OO and re-downloaded, same thing.

What I do not understand is the copy sent to USB is also compromised and only
shows 4 copies of Verse then nothing except spacing lines.

Third time happened, only WORD keeps original.

Try try again eh.

I have a solution should all else fails, thanks for help.

Richard

online update

2019-08-14 Thread D.Cole
Hello and thank you for your wonderful program.

I can't seem to get OO to connect to the internet for updates. I've added
it to my Defender firewall but I get an error message each time I try to
update it. I've been manually going to your site but just added the
language extension and wanted to get all updates from the web automatically
at this point.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks you,
Darren

Whether the previous download is continued might depend on how you're
doing your downloads, but I think it probably won't be continued. It
probably doesn't matter whether you delete the file you got the first
time or not.

I don't know what 'box' you're referring to. Are you downloading from
the official site, http://www.openoffice.org/download/ ?
The file size is specified there (for Windows) as being 134 MBytes.

The time required for the download will depend a lot on what kind of
network connection you have.

Open Office download

2019-08-14 Thread Reiko Surlow
Good Morning,

I tried to download Open Office. It had approx. 7 minutes left of the download
and seem to have gotten stuck because after 7 minutes it still said seven
minutes remaining. I lost the box where it was informing me of the time and
approx. size.
So, if I download again, will it start from the beginning or finish the
download? And should I delete the one file that was created or not?

Thanks

Does the downloaded file have a length of 134 MBytes, as specified on
the download page? Have you tried downloading the file a second time,
in case the first download failed for some reason?

Installing Open Office in Windows

2019-08-14 Thread David Riley
I have a new laptop based on Windows 10.

I downloaded Open Office for Windows from the
https://www.openoffice.org/download/ website.

This is the filename I received in my Downloads folder:
Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.6_Win_x86_install_en-US

When I try to open it, I get this message: “This app can’t run on your PC”

I used an older version of Open Office for years on my old laptop equipped with
Windows.

I have no clue how to proceed.

Thanks.

Re: Documents not saved OO 4 1 6

2019-08-14 Thread Steven Ahlers
Richard,

When you saved it where did you save it to?
What did you answer to the query about updating the links?
What operating system are you using? Assuming you’re using windows have you
searched for the saved files using File Explorer? What was the result?

Documents not saved OO 4 1 6

2019-08-14 Thread Richard Lyes
I have twice had to rewrite my book because the new open office apache 4.1.6
does not save the file.
It asks to update all links?
Yes or no the file is still not there I the first place this is very annoying.
The Forum answers are not sufficient in how to restore the seemingly lost file.
Uninstalling and downloading again is probably the only answer where hopefully
my book is still there.
Even the copy I saved to a memory stick is not on there???
Still, any genuine answer or solution to this would be very appreciated.
Thank you for your really good App. and the hope it restores my book.

Re: FrOSCon 2019 - Bericht

2019-08-14 Thread Dr. Michael Stehmann
Hallo,
