Sorry about that!  My keyboard was taken over by multiple movements,
momentarily.

Here's a MAC article you may find helpful:
http://www.uis.edu/its/otherservices/documents/Other/BasicTechTips.pdf.

I'm using WinXP Pro and found that Shift+UpArrow (or down arrow) depending on
your cursor placement will select a sentence. It works for me in the
abovementioned pdf file, as well as OpenOffice Writer.  I haven't tried all of
the suggested shortcuts, however, since one of them works for me, perhaps
others will too.

Naturally, I make sure that I am at the beginning of the line. But I
ask to know if there is a way to highlight the current line directly.

I'm using Kubuntu, but it is not my computer that is preventing me
from multiple clicking. It is manual disability.

You may be able to record a macro which could be used to do this key
combination. Then apply the new macro to a key combination itself.

Nothing to be sorry about! I'm not a "sensitive disabled".

I can manage with all the methods mentioned, including the mouse
methods, but I already knew them. The long keyboard shortcut is
tiresome (Home -> Shift-End) when I see that I'm doing it literally
tens of times in a row, and the mouse method is painful. Some text
editors (VIM for instance) have an easy way to Yank a line, so I
thought that maybe this would be possible in OOo.

I suppose that I will draft a document of common actions that require
either the mouse or an unusually long keyboard method, and file
usability bugs.

Thanks!

Hi Dotan
I've got no help with OO, but you might look into a mouse that has
programmable buttons. My Logitech mouse can be programed for double
clicks and maybe triples.

Hope this helps

You're quite right about the shift+end combination. I didn't know of your
need to be anywhere in the line. How about using Home to go to the beginning
of the line, followed by Shift+end to select the whole line.

I'm on a Mac, and I'm sure I have also used the same triple-click on a PC.
What system are you using that prevents you from multiple clicking? In every
system I've used, single click selects an insertion point, double click
selects a word, and triple click selects the line.

I hope this helps.

That's what I've been doing, but it only highlights the entire line if
the cursor is at the beginning of the line.

In OOo 3.0 Writer, how can a user highlight the current row of text
with a keyboard shortcut? Specifically, I intend to use this with
lists, for highlighting a list item. Thanks.
