those unconfined_* are fishy, but they exist on the working setup as
well. If Dan Walsh were not listening I'd suggest to try it with
setenforce 0, nonetheless.

Excuse my continued guesswork, but how about

$ chown vdsm.qemu /etc/pki/vdsm/keys/vdsmkey.pem

we once had a libvirt bug were auxiliary group kvm was not set on the
qemu process. Maybe history repeats itself.

[Users] Short delay in 3.3 release-- was [Re: oVirt 3.3 Release Go/No-Go Meeting Minutes]

2013-09-03 Thread Mike Burns

Just to summarize the meeting:

There is an issue with the EL6 repo missing spice-html5 (fixed)
There is an issue with current sdk (build coming today)
There is a bug with gluster-only installs (build coming today)

Due to these issues, we're delaying until Monday 09-September for the
release.

I mainly use ipmilan in oVirt/RHEV/clusters as this works fine on newer

Hi all,

I have just set up SpamAssassin for Mailman for all ovirt.org mailing
lists - I will be checking in regularly to make sure that this change
does not cause dropping of legitimate emails. If you send an email to
the list and it doesn't get there, please mail me personally at dneary

I have trained all the lists with a corpus of ham and spam, so hopefully
this will significantly lessen the moderation load.

[Users] ipmilan or iLo4

2013-09-03 Thread Neil
Hi guys,

I'm testing some DL360gen8 hosts and was wondering what power
management utility would be recommended, I usually only use Dell
servers and use the ipmilan by default, but not sure if there would be
any benefits to rather using iLo instead?

Thanks.

 Hi Karli,
this should be achievable for you in 3.3 with some minor
work on
 your side;
In oVirt 3.3 we introduce the new scheduler, which allows
you to run
 your own
code when doing VM placement and load balancing.

You can write your own load balancing logic replacing the
built-in one,
which will switch to power saving at a given time. Once a

[Users] Using the qemu guest agent

2013-09-03 Thread Karli Sjöberg
Hi!

I´ve trying to use qemu-ga in several different guests, Win7, 2008R2, Fedora
18, and haven´t been able to get the agent to respond to anything. Have managed
to have the Windows version log some debugging:
1378199587.125000: debug: check
1378199587.125000: debug: prepare
1378199587.656250: debug: check
1378199587.656250: debug: prepare

But when installing the agent in Fedora, even when editing the service-file to
include "-v (for verbose logging) -l (log file) /path/to/file.log", it doesn´t
say anything at all. The only messages logged are from when you stop the
service:
1378206062.602118: debug: received signal num 15, quitting
1378206105.557416: debug: received signal num 15, quitting
1378206245.844695: debug: received signal num 15, quitting

No other messages logged. Information about the agent is sparse, and uncertain
if relevant since development progresses rapidly, which is a good thing, but
makes it harder to wrap your head around. Have tried to use examples on
"http://wiki.qemu.org/Features/QAPI/GuestAgent";
for ways to test from Host if agent is responding, e.g:
echo "{'execute':'guest-info'}" | socat stdio,ignoreeof
unix-connect:/var/lib/libvirt/qemu/channels/TestVM.org.qemu.guest_agent.0

Yielded no "return" and nothing logged in any guest. Have installed
ovirt-guest-agent and spice-vdagent in both Windows- and Fedora clients and
that works perfectly, so the virtio-serial config/drivers are OK in general,
it´s just qemu-ga that´s troublesome.

Is there anyone here that´s managed getting qemu-ga working in any guest at all?

Having that as users code will help us take it in the mainline in the

I see that EPEL6 testing has spice-html5-0.1.2-2.el6.noarch.rpm.

Why not add http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/testing/6/x86_64/ to
your yum repo?

P.S. I think this request better fits the infra@ list; I see no vdsm

Hi Karli,
this should be achievable for you in 3.3 with some minor work on
your side;
In oVirt 3.3 we introduce the new scheduler, which allows you to run
your own
code when doing VM placement and load balancing.

You can write your own load balancing logic replacing the built-in one,
which will switch to power saving at a given time. Once a host has no
running VMs, your balance logic can switch it into S3 state (sleep), and
when needed or in a given time use wake-on-lan to resume all
suspended hosts.

If you want we can guide you through it post 3.3 release.

it first complained about missing gluster 3.4
I added the gluster repo -

 , afterwards I got a message that I am missing spice-html5
I think that it should be included in the nightly repository.
