Re: [Users] CfP: Virtualisation and IaaS DevRoom at FOSDEM'14
Hi, A reminder to everyone, we're getting close to the deadline! I would love to see some dev/DevOps-focussed presentations about oVirt at the conference. Again, I would love to see some oVirt users propose topics about how the use, manage and deploy oVirt in real life circumstances. Re: [Users] Minor HTML5 Spice Bug
Hi Thomas, thanks for reporting the issues. Regarding the 1st one, the feature is still in preview, so it still has quite a lot of issues. But could you do me a favor and take a look if the debug output is printing some text when you click the screen (after resizing)? The debug output can be enabled via a browser console (using inspect element, for instance). I'm aware of the fact the debug output contains quite a lot of error messages, but I would be interested if it contains anything that is related to this resizing problem. As for the ssl key, I'm not totally sure, but I think the reason is that the proxy is intended to run under the ovirt user. It seems to have appeared around the time of the recent DST change. It's taken us a while to get to the bottom of this as some machines were created in the wrong timezone, which muddied the waters a bit. It appears that when Windows automatically updated time in the VMs, this new offset from UTC was not stored correctly, and the next time the host was shutdown and started back up, the clock was set incorrectly. We eventually managed to get this to be consistently reproducible: Set the clock an hour ahead; power off VM; power it back on; set the clock an hour back (ie return it to the original time), power off and power back on; observe that the clock has now shifted to an hour before the original time. This can be observed in the vm_dynamic table on the database. To be honest, I don't think that this an oVirt problem, as I've done some limited testing on another host using virt-manager/libvirt. If I edit the xml to set the clock offset to variable, using UTC as the basis and setting the adjustment to 3600 (mimicking how it would have been before the DST change), when I change the time in the VM back by an hour (as Windows would do automatically at DST change), the xml shows a new offset of -3600, so it seems when the clock is changed the offset it's putting in the XML is the offset based on the time from when the VM was started, not the offset from UTC. Re: [Users] replacing self-signed certificates
I don't know about the native SPICE client, but here is what I did for apache and the websocket proxy: In /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf it lists SSLCertificateFile SSLCertificateKeyFile SSLCertificateChainFile SSLCACertificateFile Those are the files you need to replace for the web interface. My certs were combined, so I actually only use SSLCertificateFile and SSLCertificateChainFile NOTE: If you modify ssl.conf, the path /etc/pki/ovirt-engine/apache-ca.pem is used by ovirt-iso-uploader. Uploads will fail unless you replace/symlink that file or specify a CA certificate on the command line. I actually linked to my chain file and it seems to be happy. Websocket Proxy: /etc/ovirt-engine/ovirt-websocket-proxy.conf.d/10-setup.conf defines the certificates. The websocket proxy needs a combined certificate file with your cert and the entire chain for SSL_CERTIFICATE SSL_KEY is just the unencrypted key, and it MUST be accessible by the ovirt user. As for spice, I am not sure, I am guessing it is /etc/pki/ovirt-engine/keys/engine_id_rsa and /etc/pki/ovirt-engine/keys/certs/engine.cer Not sure where they are referenced except by the websocket proxy. -- Thomas ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users
