[ovirt-users] lose my server ovirt-engine in network

2020-11-04 Thread garcialiang . anne
Hello,
I installed my ovirt-engine during 1 month. I can connect with ssh or website.
Yesterday, I rebooted my server ovirt-engine. But I can't connect it with ssh.
My server lost in network. I can login with the machine, but I can't ping with
network.
Is there the problem with network setting ?

Could you help me, please?

Thanks,

Anne Garcia

I checked the qemu-ga version in Ubuntu 16.04 and it is too old. It is
version 2.5 but you need at least 2.10 for it to work properly with
oVirt. I tried to install the package from Ubuntu 18.04 [1] and it was
without issues. Is that a viable option for you?

The xyz.co.za domain is pointing (redirect) to the server IP, maybe that is the
problem

Hi Dominik,

I don't have any concerns, I only wanted to know, why it will be removed,
because it can increase network performance a lot.

Thank you very much for your explanation.

I fully understand, that you want to remove features, when nobody is using
them.

Hi Ales,

what do you mean with "not maintained for a long time"?

The oVirt integration of dpdk was not maintained.

BQ_BEGIN

DPDK is heavily developed and make the linux network extremely fast.

I don't think, that SR-IOV can replace it,

BQ_END

The removal of dpdk is about removing the dpdk support from oVirt hosts only.
We wonder if there is someone using dpdk to attach oVirt VMs to physical NICs.
We are aware that many users use SR-IOV, especially for scenarios of enabling a
high count of Ethernet frames for VMs or requiring a low latency,
but we are not aware of users using dpdk to connect the oVirt VMs to the
physical NICs of the host.

because packets must be still processed by the kernel, which is really slow and
CPU demanding.

In SR-IOV the packets might be processed by the guest kernel, not but the host

oVirt is focused on the host kernel, while the guest OS is managed by the user

Hello,
we have decided to remove dpdk in the upcoming version of oVirt namely 4.4.4.
Let us know if there are any concerns about this.

BQ_END

Can you give more info why we want to remove this feature, and what is
the replacement for existing users?

Nir

Sure,
the feature was only experimental and not maintained for a long time. The
replacement is to use SR-IOV
which is supported by oVirt.

Thanks,
Ales

[ovirt-users] Affinity Group Graceful Migration

2020-11-04 Thread thilburn
Hello,
I'm trying to get an Affinity Group setup that will gracefully remove VMs from
a Host. Below is what I've tried but the VMs will not migrate off.

oVirt 4.3
Priority: 1
VM Affinity Rule: Disabled
Host Affinity Rule: Negative ( Soft )
Virtual Machines: Select a VM ( My understanding is this would mean all VMs? )
Hosts: Host:

Also, is this right place to ask for help on this?

very new to this domain. Currently I'm facing an issue with Ovirt self hosted

Error: "changed": false, "msg": "Error: the target storage domain contains only
22.0GiB of available space while a minimum of 61.0GiB is required If you wish
to use the current target storage domain by extending it, make sure it contains
nothing before adding it.

Note: (gluster storage was installed and configured in Linux work station with
adding additional hard disk in one of the two gluster storage linux work

[ovirt-users] Re: Ovirt 4.4 ilo_ssh version HP ILO3. ERROR: Unable to connect/login to fencing device

2020-11-04 Thread melnyksergii
Dears,
So, I found solution.
Logically if Ovirt used user vdsm on hosts, and vdsm placed on host I find dir
/var/lib/vdsm/.ssh
Then I create in /var/lib/vdsm/.ssh file config with strings:
Host *
  HostKeyAlgorithms=+ssh-dss

And after this actions the test of ssh ilo fence is OK.
I don't know is this solution correct? May be you know another, more correct
way for solve this problem?
Thanks

[ovirt-users] Ovirt 4.4 ilo_ssh version HP ILO3. ERROR: Unable to connect/login to fencing device

2020-11-04 Thread melnyksergii
Dears,
I have a 3 nodes with HP blade servers G7 and ILO3. ILO3 with the latest
firmware 1.93 from Aug 07 2020.
I'm try to migrate from Ovirt 4.3 to 4.4 with Centos 8, but I had a problem
with setup ssh ilo fence on this nodes. In Ovirt 4.3 with Centos 7 all is works.
When I try to Test fence, I see ERROR: Unable to connect/login to fencing
device.
When I try to use /usr/sbin/fence_ilo_ssh I see the same error.
So, I know where is a problem. The problem in an old ssh security keys
HostKeyAlgorithms=+ssh-dss.
When I add to /root/.ssh/config some exclude for use HostKeyAlgorithms=+ssh-dss
I can connect to ilo over ssh from root with:
/usr/sbin/fence_ilo_ssh -a 10.0.11.157 -l user -p passwordh -x -u 22
--login-timeout=10 -o status and see:
 Status: ON
But when I try again setup ilo_ssh fence in Ovirt-engine UI I still have the
same ERROR: Unable to connect/login to fencing device.
How can I solve this problem in Ovirt?
Thanks

The removal of dpdk is about removing the dpdk support from oVirt hosts
only.
We wonder if there is someone using dpdk to attach oVirt VMs to physical
NICs.
We are aware that many users use SR-IOV, especially for scenarios of
enabling a high count of Ethernet frames for VMs or requiring a low latency,
but we are not aware of users using dpdk to connect the oVirt VMs to the
physical NICs of the host.

In SR-IOV the packets might be processed by the guest kernel, not but the
host kernel.
oVirt is focused on the host kernel, while the guest OS is managed by the
user of oVirt.
