Am I right in thinking that this is nothing to do with SOGo and just a
combo of Funambol

and Cyrus.

Funambol does Contacts, Calendar and Tasks sync with sogo.
Mails are just as you would use them without sogo. (Probably imap)

I really don't feel comfortable to export and import my data on a live

There's no 'feature' to do that from, for example, the web
administrative interface in SOGo. We eventually plan to add such feature
and it should be rather simple to do.

This isn't exactly true.

You can use push email with Funambol but for this, you have to use their
email application on your mobile device. Funambol can then be configured
with your email account info and it'll push (ie., send a specially
crafted SMS message AFAIR) notifications for new mails.

pref(mail.showCondensedAddresses, false); ---

You can disable manually too:
TB Preference - Advanced - Read - Show name... in address book.. (disable

I tried set both of them, but it didn't work for me - all our clients

Re: [SOGo] free/busy and Thunderbird...

2011-02-07 Thread Stefan Helms

Hello again,

I'm getting desperate. 4 days to deadline, so here's another cry for help:

I still can't get free/busy in Lightning to work, while it's working
fine in the web interface.
So far I found out that it works only if the local part of the email
address matches the folder name for the user, which in our environment
ist not the common case.
Our users have a short login name (some short form of their full names,
but following no consistent pattern) while the local part of the
official email address is /almost/ always givenname.sn.
(Before you ask: No, I have no influence on this. Our LDAP, IMAP and
SMTP servers are centrally managed by the computing center for the whole
university.)

Now, the problem is that SOGo seems to default to naming database tables
and folders after the login.
There is one user in our database for whom both tables and folders named
after the login (uid) and named after his email exist, so i presume this
is doable and at some point during my experiments I've been almost there.

How can I force SOGo to consistently name user folders according to the
local part of the email address, or alternatively Lightning to look up
and use the uid to the mail address entered in free/busy?

So, it's not clear what you did. Also, it's not clear if you still use

Please clear up what you did to achieve what and share your

I sent an email to this list awhile ago about this problem.

In our case the delay was very noticeable because we did not have one

those ldap directories for each email read.

[SOGo] ANN: SOGo ZEG with Native Outlook Compatibility - TP4

2011-02-07 Thread Ludovic Marcotte
Inverse is proud to announce the fourth downloadable version of SOGo ZEG
with native Microsoft Outlook compatibility.

The virtual appliance consists of the latest development version of
SOGo, SOPE and OpenChange, properly installed and configured. Note that
the native Microsoft Outlook compatibility is still *considered as
experimental*. The fundamentals have been developed and the progress
towards an end-user usable version will be fast from now on.

Nonetheless, we release this Technology Preview ZEG edition to show
how promising this is.

== Getting it ==

To download ZEG Technology Preview, simply point your browser to
http://www.sogo.nu/english/downloads/zeg.html

Look for Virtual Appliance - Native Outlook Compatibility.

For configuration instructions, look at the following FAQ:
http://www.sogo.nu/english/nc/support/faq/article/how-to-configure-outlook-to-work-with-openchange.html

== Changes ==

Here is a list of changes performed by the Inverse team since TP3 was
released :

 * Initial support for the Drafts and Deleted Items folders
 * More internal cache fixes (which would prevent having to restart
OpenChange/Outlook for data coherency)
 * Fixed the SeekRow/QueryPosition issue which would cause slowdowns
such as the ones experienced with the Sent Items mail folder
 * Initial sorting support (for mails, the work is completed - GCS and
FS type folders are to be done)
 * Tasks are now displayed immediately (ie., the window doesn't need to
be re-sized for them to appear)

 * Various small bug fixes and minor improvements

== Upcoming improvements ==

The follow improvements will occur in the next following days, likely
resulting in a TP5 :

 * Attachments support for email messages (send/receive)
 * Initial recurrence support for events and tasks
 * Integrate the mapistore_v2 work which will allow us to support all
SOGo user folders and all SOGo users easily (making freebusy lookup for
other users more easy)

Some bug fixes or improvements need to be added in OpenChange to make
the solution even more usable and we are working with them to :

 * Add notifications support, so refresh of views will occur after
creation/modifications of messages

 * Reminder issues which can cause Outlook to disconnect momentarily

== Helping Out ==

There are many ways you can help us. You can:

 * spread the good word about this technology preview!
 * follow our development in the users@sogo.nu mailing list and update
regularly the components mentioned above
 * contact us if you want to sponsor specific features with regard to
Outlook / SOGo compatibility

Thanks,

Re: [SOGo] Opensuse and SOGo

2011-02-07 Thread Stefan Fuhrberg

Hi,
i'm trying to install sogo on openSUSE too.

Am 07.02.2011 20:54, schrieb Fabrice Durand:

So try with the src.rpm.

I saw that the gnustep-make and gnustep-base are include in the

rpm -ivh sope49-4.9-20110127_1664.fc11.1.src.rpm
rpm -ivh sogo-1.3.5a-1.fc11.src.rpm
Done that and it installs the package 100% but there are no new files in
the Folder where i installed the packages, am i missing something?

In the sope.spec file change all the /etc/fedora-release by
/etc/suse-release and change %define dist_suffix fc11 by the
abbreviation of your distribution.
Same thing in the sogo.spec file (/etc/fedora-release by
/etc/suse-release)
I suppose those spec Files are installed by the above step, if not where
can i find them?

I suppose that the file /etc/suse-release exist

Launch rpmbuild -ba sope.spec (install dependencies by yum )
Launch again rpmbuild -ba sope.spec

If all goes well until the end of compilation, launch rpmbuild -ba
sogo.spec (install dependencies by yum and by rpm where your rpm files
are)

Relaunch rpmbuild -ba sogo.spec

And if all goes well you will have rpm files for your distribution.
Maybe you will have to modify the sogod script and the sogo.conf file .
