2011-03-10 Thread Carsten Laun-De Lellis

	Hey Ludovic

When will be an updated howto for the installation of SOGo with openchange available. I am using a vServer from a service provider and therefor virtual appliances are no option for me.

But as soon as a new howto is gonna be released I will try it out.

	Regards,

Inverse is proud to announce the seventh downloadable version of SOGo
ZEG with native Microsoft Outlook compatibility.

The virtual appliance consists of the latest development version of
SOGo, SOPE and OpenChange, properly installed and configured. Note that
the native Microsoft Outlook compatibility is still *considered as
experimental*. The fundamentals have been developed and the progress
towards an end-user usable version will be fast from now on.

Nonetheless, we release this "Technology Preview" ZEG edition to show
	how promising this is.

	== Getting it ==

To download ZEG "Technology Preview", simply point your browser to
	http://www.sogo.nu/english/downloads/zeg.html

Look for "Virtual Appliance - Native Outlook Compatibility".

For configuration instructions, look at the following FAQ:
	http://www.sogo.nu/english/nc/support/faq/article/how-to-configure-outlook-to-work-with-openchange.html

	== Changes ==

Here is a list of changes performed by the Inverse team since TP6 was
	released :

	* Added notifications support, meaning that views will now be
refreshed as soon as an element is created, modified or deleted
	* Added support for multiple users (see below for instructions)
	* Various other small bug fixes and minor improvements

	== Upcoming improvements ==

The follow improvements will occur in the next following days, likely
	resulting in a TP8 :

	* Integrate the mapistore_v2 work which will allow us to support all
SOGo user folders and all SOGo users easily (making freebusy lookup for
	other users more easy)
	* Initial recurrence support for events and tasks

Some bug fixes or improvements need to be added in OpenChange to make
the solution even more usable and we are working with them to :

	* Reminder issues which can cause Outlook to disconnect momentarily

Those will be added once the mapistore_v2 transition is completed.

	== Installation / Update ==

Both SOGo and SOPE were installed from the Monotone repository while
OpenChange was installed using the "sogo" branch from their official
	Subversion server.
To update those components on ZEG from TP4, simply sudo as root. Then
	run the following script :

	/home/sogo/update.sh

You might want to restart Outlook after the update.

== Adding users to an existing environments ==

This is a two-step process because SOGo and Samba/OpenChange do not
share the same user database. First of all, you need to add your users
to your LDAP database, exactly as documented in the SOGo Installation
	guide (http://www.sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGo%20Installation%20Guide.pdf).
Afterwards, you need to replicate those accounts to the Samba database
and populate their OpenChange profile using the 3 following commands:

	samba-tool newuser [username] [password]
	./setup/openchange_newuser --create [username]
	./setup/openchange_newuser --mailbox [username]

It is easier to setup accounts having their username set as password. If
you prefer not, you will need to edit /usr/local/samba/private with
"ldbedit -H". From there, you should replace the occurrences of
	"sogo://[username]:[username]@" with "sogo://[username]:[password]@".
Since ldbedit makes use of vi, you can simply issue the following
sequence: ":%s/:[username]@/:[password]@/g". Please note that brackets
are used here as parameter delimiters...

This is temporary and everything will be much more simpler once the
	migration towards mapistore_v2 is completed.

	== Helping Out ==

There are many ways you can help us. You can:

	* Spread the good word about this technology preview!
	* Follow our development in the users@sogo.nu mailing list and update
	regularly the components mentioned above
	* Contact us if you want to sponsor specific features with regard to
	Outlook / SOGo compatibility

	Thanks,

[SOGo] installation on separate servers

2011-03-10 Thread jch
Hi,

I would like to install SOGo but to use separate servers, one for each service.
I already have a SMTP server, a SMTP-auth one, a POP/IMAP one, a MySQL one, a
PostgreSQL 8.4 one, an openLDAP one, an apache2 one, a lighttpd one, a rsyslog
one, a nagios one and a munin one... All are running on Debian and are fine. I
would like to use those with SOGo.

When typing "apt-get install sogo" on fresh Debian, a lot of dependencies are
fired... and don't want those to be installed. Maybe those may be removed after
the install. But I would prefer not to install those at all.

What sould be the best path to achieve a proper install? I would appreciate any
advice on this topic. Also I would prefer to use the proposed Debian packages
if possible.

Kind regards,
Jean-Charles de Longueville

 Hello Jean-Charles,

I think you will need to use the source or does apt-get have a flag that
says not to download dependencies? Sogo does require Sope though so you
will need that.

Hope that helps,

[SOGo] SOGo shutting down at given time

2011-03-10 Thread Michael Noack
Hi list,

I just recently installed SOGo and diged through its documentation. I
did not find anything mentioned which would explain the cause of my
problem, so please excuse me, if this was asked before. I installed from
sogos debian-repo and followed install-instructions of sogos manual.
Everything is working as expected except sogo shutting down repeatedly
in the morning and not restarting. Than sogo is offline until I restart
it with /etc/init.d/sogo start.
What triggers this behavior? Why is it default? If it is not, where did
I go wrong when installing?
I searched /etc/default/sogo, /etc/apache2/conf.d/SOGo.conf and
/[sogo-user]/GNUStep/Default/.GNUstepDefaults, but in neither file I
find anything which would initiate such behavior.

In the logs I find something like this:

Re: [SOGo] installation on separate servers

2011-03-10 Thread Wolfgang Sourdeau

Hi Jean-Charles,

All the dependencies are really dependencies: SOGo does not on depend on
things that it does not absolutely require to run properly from a code
perspective. So those dependencies are basically just libraries. There
is a "suggest" on "nginx" but it's just a suggestion.

Cheers,

Wolfgang

Re: [SOGo] SOGo shutting down at given time

2011-03-10 Thread Wolfgang Sourdeau

Hi Michael,

SOGo will restart after its log files have been rotated (via logrotate).
As you can see it's being relaunched right after being shutdown.
Your problem is that 3 minutes later it is shut down again. But there is
no way for us to know why without looking at your system. It's most
likely due to a maintenance script.

Does anyone here happen to know if the new webos 2.2 devices from HP

Re: [SOGo] Sogo with multiple Apache domains?

2011-03-10 Thread CyberAngel

Could you please provide an example of an apache SOGo-2.conf?
SOGo needs to be accessed from the Internet in the https port 4443 for
example.

So locally it is accessed in the domain https://sogo.lan.local:443 (no
problem with it) and the same SOGo web interface needs to be accessed
from the https://111.222.111.222:4443

Assume that 111.222.111.222 is the external IP of the site and port 4443
is being forwarded to the internal sogo.lan.local:443.

Vangelis

Betreff: [SOGo] Sogo with multiple Apache domains?
The title might not be that clear, but I would like to ask how is it
possible
to setup SOGo web interface to listen on different hostnames?

for example, I have a SOGo machine in my LAN so lets assume that it will
answer
in https://sogo.mylan.local/SOGo.

so I have to configure the following lines in
/etc/apache2/conf.d/SOGo.conf
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-port" "443"
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-name" "sogo.mylan.local"
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-url" "https://sogo.mylan.local";

Now I want to make a portforward rule in my firewall and get access when
this
machine is behind NAT.
So this should work also when internet users access the web interface from
https://mylan.dyndns.org:4443. (mylan.dyndns.org:4443 is forwarded to
sogo.mylan.local:443)

Since I have configured the apache sogo conf file to use sogo.mylan.local,
it
will not work for requests from any other external network..

Re: [SOGo] Sogo with multiple Apache domains?

2011-03-10 Thread CyberAngel

Well, I think that I have just found the solution to this!! :D

In the apache SOGo.conf file comment out the lines:

#RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-port" "443"
#RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-name" "yourhostname"
#RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-url" "https://yourhostname";

And add the following line! just "https://"; instead of
"https://yourhostname";.

RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-url" "https://";

Works for me!! :)

Did you run the sql update script ( 1.3.3 to 1.3.4 ) ? That might help.

One of my open issues is configuring sogo to use muliple domains. Thera

Is it possible for somebody to post an example of the new config style?

I don't have an example, but if you create a file like the one (old
style) in the manual and then (as sogo) add another attribute like:

defaults write sogod SOGoTimeZone "America/Montreal"

you should end up with an xml version of the file that works.

Try putting the last part that starts with postgresql in quotes. What
you should end up with in your .GNUStepDefaults file is the following:

OCSSessionsFolderURL
postgresql://sogo:password@localhost:5432/sogo/sogo_sessions_folder

Steve

is this the same with mysql? i don't have this setting and all works.

greetings.

I believe so, although I don't know for sure as I don't use it. It's
only required for the latest version 1.3.5a. It will work without it
sometimes, but you might get weird things like being logged out
automatically or getting blank pages when your session disappears. So,
best to add it.
