 Thanks. BTW, for those who are authenticating to an Active Directory,
 what search filter do you use to limit what shows on the directory
 list when marked to be used also as a shared address book?

All users allowed to use SOGo.

 Also, what syntax can be used for this search filter?

You can use the normal LDAP filter syntax.

Quick tutorial e.g. at
http://www.selfadsi.org/ldap-filter.htm

 I'm using objectClass=user but it's not enough to limit the list to
 the objects I want.

With objectClass=user you get all users _and_ all contacts in your AD.

You have to use ((objectClass=user)(objectCategory=person)) to only get
users.

 Additionally, does anyone knows if MS Exchange 2003 supports RFC
 4314?

Sorry, don't know.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

[SOGo] Debian nightly builds

2011-10-20 Thread andreas.hainke
Good morning/evening,

actually it does not seem to be possible to get the nightly builds for Debian,
the path debian-nightly/pool/squeeze/s/ does not offer sogo and apt returns a
404 while updating. Is this a bug?

Best regards,
Andreas

[SOGo] ANN: SOGo v2.0.0beta2 with Native Outlook Compatibility

2011-10-20 Thread Ludovic Marcotte
Inverse is proud to announce the second beta release of SOGo v2.0.0 with
native Microsoft Outlook compatibility.

This release allows Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007 or 2010 to talk
directly to SOGo - just like if it was a Microsoft Exchange server. No
plugins are required for Microsoft Outlook to make this work.

This beta release is available as source or as RPM packages for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux/CentOS version 5 or 6. Packages for other distributions
will be offered in upcoming beta releases. The Zero Effort Groupware
(ZEG) virtual appliance is available for testing purposes.

The virtual appliance consists of the latest development version of
SOGo, SOPE and OpenChange, properly installed and configured. Note that
the native Microsoft Outlook compatibility is still a prerelease. The
fundamentals have been developed and should suit normal end-users.
Progress towards the final version will be fast from now on.

== Getting it ==

To download SOGo ZEG v2.0.0beta2, visit
http://www.sogo.nu/english/downloads/zeg.html

Look for Virtual Appliance - Native Outlook Compatibility.

For configuration instructions, or if you prefer to install everything
from source, please refer to the SOGo - Native Microsoft Outlook
Configuration guide available from
http://www.sogo.nu/downloads/documentation.html

For Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS version 5 or 6 packages, use the
nightly builds and follow the configuration instructions from the SOGo
- Native Microsoft Outlook Configuration guide.

== Changes ==

Here is the list of changes performed by the Inverse team on SOGo/SOPE
and that will be part of the upcoming 1.3.9 release :

 * New indicator in the link banner when a vacation message
(auto-reply) is active

 * New snooze function for events alarms in Web interface
 * iOS 5 support
 * CalDAV MOVE support
 * Many other small fixes and enhancements

Here is a list of changes performed by the Inverse team on native
Outlook compatibility since beta 1 was released :

 * Handling of event reminders
 * Many Global Address List (GAL) fixes
 * Updated Samba 4 to alpha 17
 * Fixed the Outlook 2007 / 2010 crash with public folders
 * Many other small fixes and performance enhancements

Refer to the SOGo - Native Microsoft Outlook Configuration guide for
current known issues or limitations.

== Upcoming improvements ==

The follow improvements will occur in the next following days, likely
resulting in a beta 3 :

 * Freebusy lookups for attendees during event invitations
 * Sharing resources between users

== Installation / Update ==

 * Installing from scratch (source or RPM packages): Please refer to
the SOGo - Native Microsoft Outlook Configuration guide.
 * Updating from SOGo 2.0.0 beta1: once you have updated and compiled
the components, you must change every occurrence of mapistore_uri to
MAPIStoreURI in /usr/local/samba/private/openchange.ldb.

In the SOGo 2.0.0 beta virtual appliance, sources for OpenChange, SOGo
and SOPE are in /home/sogo. If you want to completely reinitialize the
OpenChange profiles for the sogo1..3 users, simply run the
/home/sogo/oc-cleanup-reinit.sh, as root.

== Helping Out ==

There are many ways you can help us. You can:

 * Tests with Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 and send us detailed reports.
Bugs should be filed at http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/ in the SOGo Native
Outlook Compatibility project

 * Spread the good word about this beta release!
 * Follow our development in the users@sogo.nu mailing list and update
regularly the components mentioned above
 * Contact us if you want to sponsor specific features with regard to
Outlook / SOGo compatibility
