Re: [SOGo] Outlook 2007 unable to send

We improved message sending from beta3 to beta4 but there are still
unknowns for us when Outlook 2007 just won't send emails. It works fine
with 2003 and 2010 but is random for 2007. Any kind of investigation you
can do on your side to see when it works and when it doesn't +
information sharing would be nice.

[SOGo] Thunderbird 3.1.x support ending April 24, 2012

2012-02-01 Thread Fabian Rodriguez

FYI, following the recent release of Thunderbird 10, versions 3.1.x will
reach Eod of Life (EOL) on April 24, 2012.

"Starting on April 24, 2012, we will stop supporting Thunderbird version
3.1.x. What this means is, while you can continue to use Thunderbird
3.1, we will not be making improvements to Thunderbird 3.1 which would
include security and performance fixes."
from
http://blog.mozilla.com/thunderbird/2012/01/31/using-thunderbird-3-1-its-time-for-a-change/

I thought I'd share the above given recent questions about SOGo's TB
plugins and the current support for 3.1.x only.

Cheers,

F.

[SOGo] Problem with sogo/cardav/iphone

2012-02-01 Thread Albert Shih
Hi all,

I'm testing card sync between iPhone (IOS 5.0.1) and SOGo.

It's working pretty well. But the problem is each time my iPhone sync the
sogo server make many many connection to the LDAP server. I don't known how
much because the server give it up at 900 connections. And that in very
short time (about ~10-30 secondes).

Anyone have a idea what's the problem ?

Regards.

Hi,

right!

Normal behaviour of the different sync tools is the following:

granted resources
There is some limited public access possible via Caldav, but usually
this is not what users expect to behave with their data

Thats what I mean - in short: the user logs in with his password and
gets access to his ressources (Calendar, Cards), and makes something
with that. Ready.

But where is the use for a master user, especially for synchronisation
as Brian meant?

I.E. in Dovecot with their master user concept the master user logs in
under the login of the user, but with the masters password.
The dovecot master user have full access to the mailbox of the user
and can do anything he wants.

A similiar behaviour has SOGo for the users which signed as
superadmins in the config file.
I understand the need for this, but not for synchronisation issues - I
will understand ;-))

Hmm

perhaps we should go back to step 1:

What do you wish to do ?

Normal behaviour of the different sync tools is the following:

- Login as a user
- This user has access to it's own calendars and perhaps to calendars of
others a well
- There exists a dav report for the list of available calendars for the
logged in user, (It's also used by the TB add-on to show a list of calendars
- The sync tool then acceses one or multiple calendars via the correct
Caldav URL(s)

The key is that a given user needs to login and the has access to the
granted resources
There is some limited public access possible via Caldav, but usually
this is not what users expect to behave with their data

What I mean is why using one master account for sync (all users)?

I try to understand, which devices (?) are synced against sogo and

hm ... who does not need to have access without a password? Only the
master user? Or the normal users which will access the synchronisation
program through the master?

You login as the master account and the url is then something like:

https://sogo.server.com/SOGo/dav/mas...@login.com/Calendar/user_b_login_b_personal/

You can look at the url in the properties in TB or in the webinterface
(Looks to not use the same url...?)

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 10b4 questions

2012-02-01 Thread Martin Seener

Yeah my managers are also as unpatience as i am :P

but TB10 is already final and out, also Lightning 1.2 final

So iam already testing both Finals here and they work pretty good and
almost bugfree

even without the SOGo Plugins.
But i need at least the Connector to reuse my Shared Addressbook Carddav :)

Martin

Yes.

Awesome. Any timeframe on when the plugins should be available?
Hopefully not "Friday".
Unless it is this Friday. :)

I'd also very much appreciate a comment on this. It would be great if
we could have the extensions for our users done even before TB 10 is
released such that users can upgrade w/o problems.

However, this would mean that the extensions need to be available on
Friday - ehm, this Friday :P

If this cannot be done, it would be great if you could at least
publish an RC, or a beta, or an alpha, or a nightly ;)

Thanks,

Re: [SOGo] Permissions for SOGo account using CALDav

2012-02-01 Thread André Schild

I can think of two things:

- Specify that user as administrator, he will then have (almost) full
access to all users/calendars

or

- all users have to share the calendars to the "master user"

But it's definitive possible to access other calendars (just as in TB)

We solved this by generating an integrator "on the fly":
* https site that does http authentication
* Username is stored in REMOTE_USER env var
* replace the following line in sogo-config.js:
  var sogoConfig = { username: null, baseURL: null };
  with
  var sogoConfig = { username: "REMOTE_USER", baseURL: null };
(where REMOTE_USER is replaced with the actual username)
You might even remove the conditional from function sogoUserName()
* stream the zip file created from the integrator and the custom
  sogo-config.js.

Worked fine; we just had to stop the rollout due to the
TB-Lightning-Integrator-Connector issue.
