as I did more tests, I noticed that the timezone in lightning remains
on america/montreal, even if changed in the preferences (lightning

after switching to europa/belgrad, it changed the timezone and stayed
correct after selecting europa/berlin again :/

should I file a bug? I'm not sure if it is a sogo-extension or a
lightning bug..

Did you change it in the integrator preferences ?

the timezone read from the sogo server, or from the system settings? in
the system settings it was set to munich - europe, but even after I
changed that to europe/berlin and tested it on a fresh user account, the
setting in lightning was still the same, america/montreal.
it's not that annoying, but I will have to adjust it for all our users
(60+) after deploying.
if you need some more info (logs, configs), I'm glad to provide it to
you.

We fixed a couple of issues related to this in SOGo Connector/Ingerator
v3.109 and v1.0b2+109i of Lightning Inverse Edition. You might want to
try those, but you might also have to reset the cache after installation
at lease once if the problem persist.

I try Ludovic, with last version for tb 3.1 and i have clear cache.
Nothing, same behaviour and it's still reproducible.
I can't upgrade to TB10 for now.

[SOGo] Setting of Categories is not Stored in Thunderbird 10 / latest Sogo Extensions

2012-02-17 Thread Daniel Erlacher
hello

I just tested the address book functions and it appeared to me
that when editing a contact in thunderbird addressbook, it does
not store the categories that are assigned to a contact.

it does store categories themselfes, but not the relation to a contact.

(i am currently in the process of converting an address book that existed
in thunderbird and had the more functions for address book extension in
use to define multiple categories. I now want to check the category field
with sogo and edit the CSV export and re-import to fit sogo.)

pleas help me about the non-storing of the categories. i think this is a bug

thanks

[SOGo] ANN: SOGo v2.0.0beta5 with Native Outlook Compatibility

2012-02-17 Thread Ludovic Marcotte
Inverse is proud to announce the fifth beta release of SOGo v2.0.0 with
native Microsoft Outlook compatibility.

This release allows Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007 or 2010 to talk
directly to SOGo - just like if it was a Microsoft Exchange server. No
plugins are required for Microsoft Outlook to make this work.

This beta release is available as source or as RPM packages for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux/CentOS version 5 or 6. Packages for other distributions
will be offered in upcoming beta releases. The Zero Effort Groupware
(ZEG) virtual appliance is available for testing purposes.

The virtual appliance consists of the latest development version of
SOGo, SOPE and OpenChange, properly installed and configured. Note that
the native Microsoft Outlook compatibility is still a prerelease. The
fundamentals have been developed and should suit normal end-users.
Progress towards the final version will be fast from now on.

== Getting it ==

To download SOGo ZEG v2.0.0beta5, visit
http://www.sogo.nu/english/downloads/zeg.html#outlook

For Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS version 5 or 6 packages, use the
nightly builds and follow the configuration instructions from the SOGo
- Native Microsoft Outlook Configuration guide.

== Changes ==

Here is a list of changes performed by the Inverse team on native
Outlook compatibility since beta 4 was released :

 * Freebusy support in Outlook 2003
 * Auto-provisioning of user metadata, simplifying the installation
procedure and enabling the user of multiple calendars, address books and
mail folders at the root level

 * Lots of small performance and stability enhancements

Refer to the SOGo - Native Microsoft Outlook Configuration guide for
current known issues or limitations.

== Upcoming improvements ==

The follow improvements will occur in the next following days, likely
resulting in a release candidate :

 * Speed improvements for IMAP and SQL requests
 * Memory usage improvements

== Installation / Update ==

For the impatient, once started, point your browser to your ZEG IP
address and read the Clients section to configure your favorite fat
client.

Please refer to the SOGo - Native Microsoft Outlook Configuration
guide if you are installing the solution for the first time. The ZEG
appliance can also be updated using the compilation instructions from
the same guide.

In the SOGo 2.0.0 beta virtual appliance, sources for OpenChange, SOGo
and SOPE are in /home/sogo. If you want to completely reinitialize the
OpenChange profiles for the sogo1..3 users, simply run the
/home/sogo/oc-cleanup-reinit.sh, as root.

== Helping Out ==

There are many ways you can help us. You can:

 * Tests with Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 and send us detailed reports.
Bugs should be filed at http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/ in the SOGo Native
Outlook Compatibility project

 * Spread the good word about this beta release!
 * Follow our development in the users@sogo.nu mailing list and update
regularly the components mentioned above
 * Contact us if you want to sponsor specific features with regard to
Outlook / SOGo compatibility
