I had a similar issue after an upgrade in Debian 8 nightly last week.
The sogo package upgraded but not the others so I manually downloaded
and installed them from the repo to resolve it.

I don't know if it's the culprit, but one package I don't see listed
above is:
libsbjson2.3

Occasionally I've seen this on a client where a solution was to close
Thunderbird and manually delete one or more of the .sqlite files in
[Thunderbird profile]\calendar-data and let them be recreated on the
next Thunderbird startup.

Do I need JDBC3 or JDBC4?
Do I need the version which supports postgreSQL 8.4 or can I use the latest
one, supporting 9.2, which will also support 9.2?

Thanks for your help,

I've used both successfully (version 9.2-1002). I think JDBC4 is the
recommended version since Funambol 10 has Java 1.6.

Is there a possibility that calendar reload doesn't freeze TB?

I've noticed the same thing while testing too. While there is a bit of
delay in TB 10/Lightning 1.2, it appears much more pronounced in TB

I'd certainly try giving your VM more memory. That appears to have been

Hello Patrick.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I too recently saw sogod
hanging. For me it started after upgrading to 1.3.12 and almost
simultaneously adding additional users.

In my case, the issue appears to have been resolved by dealing with some

To further remove the temptation, I like to change the startup page (or
disable it) so users don't see promotions from Mozilla for newer releases.

Not sure it's necessary to put in both places, but I add to sites.js:

pref("mailnews.start_page.enabled", false);
-- or --
pref("mailnews.start_page.url", "http://foo.bar.com";);

In custom-preferences.js:
force_bool_pref("mailnews.start_page.enabled", false);

force_bool_pref("mailnews.start_page.url",

the "Calendar" sectino you will see the references to the old calendars.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to clean this up otherwise. We might
integrate some sort of "cleanup" commad in sogo-tool in the future
though for this kind of thing.

Thank you for the information on this. As much as I hate to close one

It's really good to know this won't be an issue going forward though.

[SOGo] Calendar sync tag fix

2010-10-08 Thread Clay Wright

Wolfgang -

Thanks a million for fixing the calendar sync tag issue --
http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=272!

I was curious if you could suggest the steps or SQL to remedy this issue

No problem. :-)

Also, it seems like other folks ( from the mailing lists ) were
eventually able to do sync with multiple calendars by upgrading the sogo
connector (and the json_simple package). Guess I'll give the trunk
version a try ? (currently using 1.0.8)

You probably have another issue somewhere. It's been possible to sync
multiple calendars since 1.0.6 of the Funambol SOGo Connector.

Hi,

Yes, by default SOGo will prompt you to enter a tag if one wants to
enable synchronization else it wont continue.

Also, I found a possible fix from the mailing lists that I need to do
for multiple calendars sync. Basically, a recover action from Funambol
(specifically, replace local data on client with data from the server)
needs to be done explicitly.

But I wonder if there's a better alternative  ?

Not that I know of. SOGo prompts you to do a full sync also, when you
set the sync tag name doesn't it? Following it's advice is usually a
good idea. ;-)

synced to my phone.

However, any changes I make on the phone, including new tasks, are not
synced back to the SOGo server. That is: the sync software actually sends
the item to the server, but they never end up in the SOGo database.

The phone uses syncevolution [1] for synchronization. Maybe someone here
has some experience with that? The configuration is:

   sync = two-way
   type = todo
   uri = sogo-todo

A SOGo SyncSource with the same name and source URI has been defined in
Funambol.

Two-way sync of the addressbook doesn't seem to have this problem.
Synchronization of the calendar has a whole different set of problems. For
example, a new whole-day event added on the phone appears in SOGo a day
early

Hello Martijn. I don't have experience with SyncEvolution -- but if

There is a bug where tasks completed in Outlook aren't synced to SOGo

Hello Oleksa. I'll share the steps I used to set this up, this with
Dovecot 1.0.x.

1) Need sieve script support on the mail server.

a) Can be implemented in Dovecot by editing /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:

protocols = [your others] managesieve

protocol managesieve {
  # need plaintext for sieve logins from SOGo on separate server
  disable_plaintext_auth = no

  # if using in Dovecot
  ssl_cert_file = /etc/ssl/certs/cert.pem
  ssl_key_file = /etc/ssl/certs/cert.pem

  login_executable = /usr/lib/dovecot/managesieve-login
  mail_executable = /usr/lib/dovecot/managesieve
  hostname = your.mail.server
  sieve=~/.dovecot.sieve
  mail_plugins = cmusieve

}

b) Adjust Postfix config.

Edit /etc/postfix/main.cf:

# For Dovecot deliver -- sieve support
mailbox_command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver

2) Enable vacation support in SOGo.

On the SOGo server, add the following to .GNUstepDefaults:

SOGoVacationEnabled = YES;

Restart SOGo.

3) Notes:
A Vacation tab will be available in the preferences of the users' web
logins.

After activating in SOGo, the sieve file (dovecot.sieve) should be in
the user's home directory.

If using SOGo on a separate server from the mail server, you'll need a
nightly build so you can use the new config option for specifying a
remote mail server, like:

SOGoIMAPServer = imaps://your.mail.server:993;

Actually there was one minor thing. After the upgrade, on my CentOS box,
there was a duplicate script in /etc/logrotate.d/. I removed the old
file "sogod" and kept the new one named "sogo".

Wolf, I had no problems at all with the db. User settings and data were
completely untouched.

The overall upgrade and switch from nightly to stable was quite painless.

Great -- that will make it "elegant". Thanks!

Hello Wolf.

I had a similar situation on a test box. There's probably a more elegant
way, but I resolved this by first removing SOGo and its dependencies
with "yum remove". Packages to remove are:

 sogo
 sope49-appserver
 sope49-cards
 sope49-core
 sope49-gdl1
 sope49-gdl1-contentstore
 sope49-gdl1-postgresql
 sope49-ldap
 sope49-mime
 sope49-xml

Then when I reinstalled sogo via yum, it pulled the packages from the
stable repo.

Hope this helps.

I had some odd behaviors too back when I was testing things out and
learning by trial and error. I use Postgres and I seem to recall you're
using MySQL, though if that makes any difference in this issue, I can't
say.

If I want to totally wipe out a user's data and preferences I'll do the
following:

1) Locate all the tables with the user's name and drop them. I see two
sets of tables per user like:

DROP TABLE sogo[user]xxx;
DROP TABLE sogo[user]xxx_quick;
DROP TABLE sogo[user]xxx_acl;

2) Delete the user's preferences and settings.

DELETE FROM sogo_folder_info WHERE c_path2 LIKE '%[user]%';

DELETE FROM sogo_user_profile WHERE c_uid LIKE '%[user]%';

Next time the user logs in, they'll have a clean calendar and address
book and default settings.

To make this easier, you can apparently use the sogo-tool (but I don't
have any experience with it) --

Best.

Hi Steve. Looking at your logs, I can offer two suggestions.

1) Most important, downgrade your Funambol server to an officially
supported version. We're using 8.0 without issue.

2) If syncing the cognitec calendar still persists, perhaps try
upgrading the Funambol Outlook Client to 8.5. I've used 8.0.5 and 8.5 on
Outlook XP (2002), but things may be different in Outlook 2007.

Certainly. I hope this helps!
