New messages do not appear in Inbox unless “update folder (SHIFT+F9)” is manually triggered. I have seen this problem mentioned on this list in the past (last post about a year ago, sogo version 2.0.2). Did anything change since then? Any chance this is resolved? This is not completely true ;-) This feature exists in OpenChange master since 2011. I had been writing a dovecot plugin and also the related code in ocsmanger and openchange server, therefore I ended up with a working implementation used by some customers. The code has been disabled in master after one of the last sogo to openchange master branch merges and it is unlikely it can gets activated today without substantial adjustments. Therefore, I ended up with a new and easier design that we plan to develop between Q1 and Q2. It is highly possible this feature integrates Zentyal 3.5 community in the first place, combined to feature addition and documentation in openchange master. Hi Martin, It's true there is not much activity on the mailing-list but I can guarantee neither the mailing-list or the project is dead :-) I am looking forward unifying openchange users across communities this year, but this is a very time-consuming task and I am at the moment more focused on development, strategy and management of OpenChange. I will definitely need help from my peers with that. If you have a questions for the openchange mailing-list, I don't think you will end up without answers, so don't hesitate to post. Looking forward reading your comments/questions on the openchange devel mailing-list. Can someone please comment - We will be rolling SOGo out very soon, and after some testing for a few weeks with our current Thunderbird base, we will test with Outlook, then allow users to switch to Outlook if they want to. So... Is this about 'IDLE' notifications? Meaning - I can still set Outlook to poll the server every few minutes and that will work ok? Thanks -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

I suppose you are referring to 'IMAP IDLE' notifications? The feature we discussed was indeed about IDLE notification but through Microsoft Exchange protocols. IDLE notifications are used when account is configured as IMAP. Openchange uses MS Exchange native MAPI protocol which uses different mechanism and has nothing to do with IMAP. Configuring the server to sent/receive in any interval does not solve the situation either. smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature

Sorry I sued the wrong expression. No it will not work since you can only configure outlook to “send/receive” in given intervals (F9) however what you would need is “update folder” (SHIFT+F9) in intervals which is not configurable as far as I know. smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature

i think it could be possible to programmatically poll server via VBA script, I know it's a workaround but it's cheaper than an exchange server , and it doesn't need antivirus, software updates, reboots, licences and the other funny stuffs that come with windows servers.. i think something like this http://slipstick.com/developer/code-samples/monitor-secondary-mailbox-messages/ could work... original message- Da: "Tanstaafl" tansta...@libertytrek.org A: users@sogo.nu Data: Thu, 16 Jan 2014 09:30:01 -0500 - > On 2014-01-16 7:34 AM, Julien Kerihuel j.kerih...@openchange.org wrote: >> On Wed, 2014-01-15 at 13:35 -0500, Ludovic Marcotte wrote: I have seen this problem mentioned on this list in the past (last post about a year ago, sogo version 2.0.2). Re: [SOGo] Outlook not refreshing Inbox automatically
I agree! Licensing costs, overhead, security and privacy are big issues where I work. We opted for Outlook 2010 to save licensing fees over 2013 or Office365 Our users are confirmed Thunderbird and Firefox users and only need Outlook as an interface to their accounting software. IF polling is an issue, then something like VBA and VBScript makes sense.
