I think Production and Openchange should not be mentioned in the same email
at the current time, it's still TP = Technology Preview

But of course I like that you jump in and do TP testing ;)

Re: [SOGo] SOGo and openchange installation problem

2011-01-25 Thread Carsten Laun-De Lellis
Hi

I’ve gone thru the installation process once more and I seem to be a step
further.

The only error message I actually get is:

This is gnustep-make 2.2.0. Type 'make print-gnustep-make-help' for help.

Package libmapistore was not found in the pkg-config search path.

Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libmapistore.pc'

to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable

No package 'libmapistore' found

Cannot build the OpenChange SOGo backend (empty CFLAGS for libmapistore)

The output of locate libmapistore.pc is

/usr/local/samba/lib/pkgconfig/libmapistore.pc

And I also have an entry in my .bashrc file:

samba=/usr/local/samba

export PATH=${samba}/bin:${samba}/sbin:$PATH

export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=${samba}/lib/pkgconfig

source /usr/share/GNUstep/Makefiles/GNUstep.sh

So I don’t have any idea where to look at.

You must compile the bundle as you compile SOGo. So you probably forgot to
source your GNUstep.sh. You'll also need to set the variable
PKG_CONFIG_PATH. You should add something like that to your .bashrc:

samba=/usr/local/samba
export PATH=${samba}/bin:${samba}/sbin:$PATH
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=${samba}/lib/pkgconfig

source /usr/share/GNUstep/Makefiles/GNUstep.sh

No - because that is by using ActiveSync - which OpenChange does not
bring. Nonetheless, Bo Simonsen (http://geekworld.dk/sogosync/)
provided ActiveSync support through a Z-Push connector. You could try it.

OpenChange will eventually provide (some bits and bytes are already
there) secure RPC over HTTP ("Outlook Anywhere") so you'll be able to
use Outlook w/o a VPN connection.

Thanks for that Ludovic. With that sogosync, will I need to open any

Sogosync implements MS Activesync which is used by mobile devices.
It works over HTTP (Port 80) and also over HTTPS (Port 443)

On the client side some devices (iPhones) require you to use https.

We did some tests with sogosync, but it seems that there is still a
long way to go for a final release.

I would appreciate any feedback. I've been working on it all day today
on getting push imap working and fixed a lot of bugs.. I've currently no
open bugs of which i found my self...

Is there a new version available for download ?
On the http://geekworld.dk/sogosync/ I only see the 121210 version

The device is a HTC Desire with the latest rom available

Basicaly this happens for me:
- Mail can ben sent (Only text, but OK)
- Mail is received from server, but the mail app crashes with
com.htc.android.mail exepectedly closed (On every mail)
as soon as I try to open one mail

- Contact sync
Connection timeout on device (sogo server had 2 processes takig each
up 90% cpu on two core) after about 60 seconds

- Calendar sync
The divce is showing up "a io error occured" very soon (about 10 secs
  after sync start)

I just started testing your SOGoSync today, and noticed a few issues..

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method
BackendCombined::getDeviceRWStatus() in /var/www/z-push/request.php on line 941

I'm not quite sure what this was, but it looked like it wasn't
necessary for imap/contacs/calendar sync, so I commented out that
if-block to get rid of this message.

It's unclear to me how sending email is supposed to work. It seems to me
like sending email means to upload it to the imap folder defined by
SYNC_FOLDER_TYPE_OUTBOX.. but that has no meaning to our IMAP backend
servers.

It would be great if all unused configurations were commented out
from the default config.php. Now it's quite unclear to me if the
BackendLDAP_Contacts_config or BackendFileStorage_config has any
meaning ??

Bo,

I plan to install and start testing this here shortly. I will try
to get it at least installed before we leave for Christmas break this
Thursday. It may be after I return from the new year that I can properly
test. We have quite a few phones that I can test with. For example:
various android devices, Blackberry's with os6 and os5 (requires
astrasync IIRC), and various models of iPhones. I will communicate with
you any findings.
