Re: [SOGo] using samba4 as an AD along with openchange

2012-10-25 Thread Carsten Laun-De Lellis
Hi

Do you have a local dns server running with _ldap._tcp and _kerberos._udp
defined? I made also the experience that for the time I want to join the
domain I have to turn off the rpcproxy in the smb.conf file. Also when I
try to administrate the domain with the remote admin tools.

 Hi,

I've successfully installed openchange and sogo2 on Ubuntu 12.04 and now
and the outlook compatibility works fine. I'm trying to use the samba4 in
the same machine as an AD server also. Dns is working fine, i've checked
all the records. I've tested kerberos login also, that also works fine.
But when i try to join to domain, i 'm getting an error saying that
networks path not found. The dns server for windows machine is the the
samba server. I've tried to query dns from the windows machine and that
also works fine. I made samba running on debug level 5, but still i dont
see any error in samba logs.

 Deepak

That is how I changed my smb.conf settings during domain join.

### Configuration required by OpenChange server ###
# dcerpc endpoint servers = epmapper, mapiproxy
# dcerpc_mapiproxy:server = true
# dcerpc_mapiproxy:interfaces = exchange_emsmdb, exchange_nsp,
exchange_ds_rfr
### Configuration required by OpenChange server ###

Thanks for the reply. Yes i've configured the local dns on the same
machine with bind v9.8. Let me try turning off the rpcproxy option in
 smb.conf.

Re: [SOGo] using samba4 as an AD along with openchange

2012-10-25 Thread Carsten Laun-De Lellis
Hi Deepak

It depends on what you wanna do. My purpose was to set up a mail server
with sogo and an openchange backend for outlook support.

That means that I don't have the need to adminstrate many computers. I
only need a few computers joining the domain so I can administrate users
with the remote administration tools. So for the time a computer wants to
join the domain I turned of the rpcproxy function and turn it on
afterwords.

If I want to administrate a large amount of PCs and users at the same time
I would setup another DC to use for computer and user administration
purposes.

Which means i cannot do both simultaneously rite. I thought i can use it
as AD for some machines and openchange server for a few machines.

Deepak,

Make sure you define your Samba AD on your SOGo server
/etc/hosts , plus also set Samba AD as NTP server, and make it your
authoritative time server for your SOGo box.

Josep
