Re: Release schedule of the Tapestry 4.1

2006-11-21 Thread Patrick Moore

Well there are 151 bugs that are not scheduled to be fixed. Some have
been sitting there from over a year ago... It would be nice to have
those triaged into a release schedule...

I would rather have solid than fancy. Solid can become fancy, fancy
without solid is a disaster...

My vote: fix the bugs first.

I'm using 4.1.1 snapshot and am basically happy -- at least for
development. I think Jesse knows already about all the bugs I've
seen.

precedence over the first item listed so as not to create too much code with
too many problems at once.

The current bug count for 4.1.1 is 16, listed from here:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TAPESTRY .

Once most of the obvious bugs are resolved and one or two more advanced sort
of components are done I'll cut another release.

I hope to be able to help ... but first I have to first get more
comfortable with creating Tapestry apps.

I have been using Tapestry for only a few months... I don't think you
want me anywhere near the code just yet... :-)

They will come as well, but we could always use some umm ~cough~ help if
people wanted the process sped up.

Re: Release schedule of the Tapestry 4.1

2006-11-19 Thread Renat Zubairov

Is there any roadmap or release plan?
Because for me there might be allot of useful and nice to have
features, but again we need to consider the core framework
functionality and _acceptable_ quality and stability level for the
release, for me the faster Tap 4.1 will be out the better, because
even the current features set is a big step forward in to new
direction (AJAX and Dojo) and for me personally is not yet clear all
use cases of these enchantments.
