2008-09-02 Thread Stefan Völkel
Hello List,

We have just activated statistics in our 1.4.1 xwiki installation and
when accessing the Stats.WebHome page I get the following exception.

You should edit XWiki/Treeview (in wiki mode) and locate the line:

  #foreach ($space in $xwiki.spaces)

and replace it with:

  #foreach ($space in $util.sort($xwiki.spaces))

Either that, or you could again use $util.sort to sort the search results.

If you are trying to build on windows, then you should add -Pwindows on

For a start, you should:
1. Make a backup of those files. They are important.
2. Try to rename them to xwiki_db.log and xwiki_db.script (just delete
the .delete extension)
3. If it doesn't work, then check the access rights. By default, HSQL
should not throw an error, but create a new database if it doesn't find
its files.
4. If it still doesn't work, if you know SQL, or somebody else that
knows SQL, check the file to see if it is corrupted. Remove the broken
lines and try again.

For the moment, this is all I can suggest.

After you manage to recover the database, you should seriously consider
an update, and switching to mysql or another dbms that supports heavy load.

Your setup looks really weird. There shouldn't be any .delete files. The
hibernate.cfg.hsql.xml file shouldn't be used unless you configured
something in xwiki.cfg.

When did this error start to happen? Did you do something on the server?

We had to shutdown systems over the weekend, and it didn't restart for
me today.
Nothing at all that I can think of.

As a general tip, the provided hsql database is not supposed to be used
in large wikis, and not in production. I guess we should emphasize this
in the download and installation notes.

Well, I admit to knowing this was beta.
If I can recover the database through these .delete files, that would be
good.
I find all the text in there.

It includes text like:
INSERT INTO XWIKIDOC VALUES(-1324373334, 'Main.sometitle',
'stuff','','','en',0,'2008-05-05 14:58:17.00', (and a fair amount of
text)

Ah, but i found
   webapps/xwiki/WEB-INF/hibernate.cfg.hsql.xml also.
In this file the connection.url was jdbc:hsqldb:file:db/xwiki_db

There is also 2 very large files,
xwiki_db.log.delete,
xwiki_db.script.delete

Are these roll-back files of some kind?
I don't find the xwiki_db file at all. Don't know why not.

This error means that xwiki is not able to connect to your database.
What kind of db are you trying to use ? Considering the user SA it looks
like your wiki is configured to use the embedded hsqldb database, have
you deleted the database/ directory ?

Re: [xwiki-users] Move the search box

2008-09-02 Thread adoro

Hi Edward,

do you want the search panel to appear in the top corner or just search
input field in the place where normally login link is placed?

If so, you can copy the source code from the Search Panel - available in
inline edit mode - and put it where you want.

You'll find it either from /bin/Panels/ -> choose Search [Edit] from the
list of Panels
or bin/Panels/Search ->menu Edit -> Inline form

I like the panels in XWiki! - it's a very helpful tool to create your own
design :-)

[xwiki-users] Move the search box

2008-09-02 Thread Edward Laptop
Hi

I have used the panels to place the search box down under a box of links -
that are in the left hand column. However, I really want to get the search
box up in the right of the header.

How would I do that please

(I have moved the login by taking some code out of global.vm and placing it
inside leftpanels.vm)

thanks

Re: [xwiki-users] blog rss headers enumeration

2008-09-02 Thread Martin Molhanec

OK, no one answered me yet :-( But I discover a matter.
When I restarted Tomcat, I can see all messages at once. Probably a matter
of caching?
How it is possible to disable a cache for blog before I execute a command
"getFeed()?
Yes, it is a very strange behavior :-( Help me!
So no one have made a panel with blog/rss headers yet?

Well, I was testing in a build of my own, because I need this patch:
http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-2571
(By the way, any chances of having it reviewed and applied? It's simple
stuff :) )

The version that it shows on the bottom of the page is "XWiki Enterprise
1.6-SNAPSHOT.${buildNumber}"
So I assume it's new, right?
It's not the most recent copy of the HEAD though. Last week I tried updating
it but I had some errors on the build, apparently some dependency problem in
the POM, some jar didn't have the "artifact-id" filled. I didn't investigate
much on that.

XWiki Watch version was 1.0.

I guess the versions should be compatible, shouldn't they?

Thanks,

Hello Edward,

did you save any Menu Panel in your left side column?

In this way it should work:
Go to
-> Administration (button in the top right corner) -> Administrate Wiki (if
you want to have the same layout for the whole wiki, otherwise you can also
set different layout for different spaces)
-> Panel Wizard
-> Tab Page Layout
-> choose "Left column" -> btn "Save the new Layout"
-> ! go to the Panel List and move at least one Panel into your left side
menu (drag them from the list of available panels to the left column)
-> btn "Save the new Layout"

By default the home page belongs to the Main Space (Main.WebHome), so you
can also try to set certain layout for the Main space (-> Edit space
preferences -> Main)
