Hi there,

I suppose you need to add this meta tag to all the XWiki pages, so that you're
sure that any page you'd load, the content gets interpreted as in IE7. To do
this, go to your installation's templates folder (/webapps/xwiki/templates) and
edit the htmlheader.vm file to add, next to the other tags, this one.

Hope this helps,
Anca

I wouldn't like that.

We just need proper Draft support.

Temporarily we could also have a setting for having minor edits
enabled by default (maybe it already exists?).

I don't know, but that's a good question.

Food for thought: what about automatically marking edit shorter than, say,
200 chars as minor edits or something similar?

Note that this doesn't answer your question... and it'll create even
more versions (even though they'll be minor ones)

Re: [xwiki-users] Documents failing to save. Mysql table crash

2009-08-19 Thread Ludovic Dubost

Hi,

As sergiu said, if mysql crashes it's not xwiki's fault. It could be
mysql or hardware related.

My recommendation on mysql crashes is:

1/ run repair or course

2/ run the xwiki sanity check script

http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Database+Administration

which can detect incoherences in the DB which could make some xwiki
document unloadable.

Most of the time the pages can be recovered to a valid state using a
rollback to one of the most recent version including the latest one
itself. If not clean up is necessary.

If mysql crashes repeat themselves, either change hardware, mysql
version or find the cause.

Re: [xwiki-users] Configuring XWiki as ROOT webapp

2009-08-19 Thread Trevor
A couple of things I just came across; I searched the archives to see if this
was a known issue, but didn't come up with anything.

1.
If I have XEM (1.7.3) running as the ROOT application in Tomcat (webapps/ROOT),
and a wiki named "test": the "test" wiki works with xwiki.virtual.usepath=0 at
http://test.example.com:8180.

But if xwiki.virtual.usepath=1 and I use
http://example.com:8180/xwiki/wiki/test the page layout is messed up and it
looks like bits of the wrong skin are applied (I get the doves in the header
image, for example), and the login page also appears *within* the comments tab.
http://example.com:8180/xwiki (the XEM) works fine, though.
http://example.com:8180/wiki/test does not work either, it redirects to the XEM
login page at http://example.com:8180/bin/login/XWiki/XWikiLogin .

If I change XEM to run as non-ROOT (webapps/xwiki), everything works fine with
xwiki.virtual.usepath=1 and http://example.com:8180/xwiki/wiki/test (no doves
in the header, grey sidebar instead of blue).

I don't know if this is a bug, or if using virtual.usepath=1 does not work with
XWiki as a ROOT Tomcat application.

2.
With XWiki set up as a non-ROOT application (webapps/xwiki) and
virtual.usepath=1, after restarting Tomcat, the first time I try to access
http://example.com:8180/xwiki/wiki/test I am redirected to
http://example.com:8180/xwiki/bin/login/XWiki/XWikiLogin, the login page for
XEM not the "test" wiki! If I retype the address to the wiki again, it works
then.

Re: [xwiki-users] Some problems with farm

2009-08-19 Thread Trevor
> Concerning the login/logout, this could be a problem to report in JIRA

I'm having this problem as well in trying to set up path-based wikis. I don't
know if this'll provide more info or not.

When I login as a "global" admin to the "test" wiki, here's the link for the
Logout button:
http://x.x.x.x:8180/xwiki/wiki/test/logout/XWiki/XWikiLogout?xredirect=http%3A%2F%2F192.168.1.196%3A8180%2Fxwiki%2Fwiki%2Ftest

It then goes to the same page I was on, but I'm still logged in.

If I login as a "local" admin, the logout button is:
http://x.x.x.x:8180/xwiki/wiki/test/logout/XWiki/XWikiLogout?xredirect=http%3A%2F%2F192.168.1.196%3A8180%2Fxwiki%2Fwiki%2Ftest
and it logs me out.

But, if I login as a "local" admin and hit the "Administration" button, it
throws me back to the main wiki (XEM) login page at
http://x.x.x.x:8180/xwiki/bin/login/XWiki/XWikiLogin?srid=3Skou0D7

I will switch back to domain-based wikis and see how it operates (we were
hoping to use path-based). Or I guess we could also limit ourselves to using
local administrators (which would be annoying).

Thanks,
Trevor
