I've unjar'ed the xwiki core jar into WEB-INF/classes/ folder, excluded the jar from the WEB-INF/lib/ and directly modified the ApplicationResources_pt.properties file. I've translated all the original ApplicationResources.properties file, but it seems not to work. Is there a way that I can check if the file was loaded by the wiki? $msg.get ? That should work well, did you restarted XWiki after that ? Another question: despite setting the Lucene search as default in the Search Application configuration on 2.4-M1, when I search using the box on the page's upper right corner, it uses the database search. How can I force lucene by defaut? Lucene is already the one used by default so i don't understand why you have database search. Clicking on the Annotations link, the box appears with the default message To annotate a piece of text, select it and hit Crtl-M. I've checked on ApplicationsResources_pt.properties and added the translated field, from the default properties file, for the property in english: You mean you directly modified the ApplicationsResources_pt.properties file in the jar package or where did you put your modified ApplicationsResources_pt.properties file (it's supposed to go in WEB-INF/classes/ folder) ? [xwiki-users] WebDAV issue: Not Implemented
Hello, I have just upgraded to XWiki Enterprise 2.3.1.29118 and have a question regarding configuring WebDAV. My XWiki is installed in Tomcat 5.5 as the 'ROOT' web app. Tomcat runs on port 8080 and I have an AJP connector with Apache proxying requests via SSL port 443, meaning that my wiki can be accessed at: https://www.myhost.tld/bin/view/Main (etc.) My question is regarding WebDAV login. I understand that the normal login URL for this would be: http://www.myhost.tld:8080/xwiki/webdav However, since I have deployed XWiki as the ROOT webapp, it seems that I am getting redirected to Tomcat's built-in WebDAV app when accessing this URL. When I access: http://www.myhost.tld:8080/webdav or https://www.myhost.tld/xwiki/webdav I get the same list of three files - a generic HTML page listing information about Tomcat's WebDAV support, and a couple of GIF files with the Tomcat logo. When I access: http://www.myhost.tld:8080/xwiki/webdav or https://www.myhost.tld/xwiki/webdav I get a 'Not Implemented' error. Could someone advise on how to configure XWiki/Tomcat to pass me to XWiki's WebDAV implementation, rather than to Tomcat's default one? My xwiki.cfg has WebDAV enabled (as far as I know - it is pretty much set to defaults in all respects). On another note: thank you for all your sterling work with XWiki. It's a tremendously flexible and useful application, and it has been a breeze to administer. Re: [xwiki-users] state of xwiki concerto
Actually this is not so easy because the artifacts needed for the compilation are not anymore in the maven repository, so you will also have to recompile XWiki artifacts by retrieving the required versions using tags in the SVN repository. The version we targeted, if I am not wrong, was XWiki 1.8.1 Yes, I've realised it is a bit of a mission just trying to get a binary build of concerto to try out... For the rest, I mostly agree with what Sergiu said. I still believe in P2P which is really a paradigm shift from time-sharing and a better way for keeping the control of his data, but business-wise it's not where the world is going right now, hence the lack of real interest in those solutions. Agreed. I should mention here that the network environment in which I need to test out wiki capabilities breaks out somewhat from the direction the world is going right now! And think that concerto would suffice as proof of wiki capabilities within this network environment. P.S.: I might check if I can retrieve an pre-compiled installer from my backups but I doubt I will be able to. It would be more interesting to try to rebuild it using XWiki 1.8.1 or, better, update the pom.xml's in order to target the latest XWiki distribution. I am pretty confident that things will work even with more recent versions of XWiki because the functionalities required by Concerto didn't change since then. If you do stumble across your ready compiled installer, could you possibly post it here or e-mail to me so that I can try it out? Thanks again peeps for your inputs on this thread! Re: [xwiki-users] WebDAV issue: Not Implemented
Hi Asiri, Sergiu, Thanks for looking into this. I think I've figured it out thanks to your assistance. Here's a WebDAV transcript when I connected directly to Tomcat on port 8080, e.g. http://www.myhost.tld:8080/webdav/ (note that I have changed the domain in the transcript, as it's a private wiki) Transmit 4.0.5 (x86_64) Session Transcript [Version 10.6.4 (Build 10F569)] (02/07/2010 13:58) Connecting to www.myhost.tld OPTIONS /webdav/ HTTP/1.1 PROPFIND /webdav/ HTTP/1.1 200 OK In directory /webdav PROPFIND /webdav/ HTTP/1.1 207 Multi-Status tomcat.gif 1934 2009-07-27 22:24:34 +0100 tomcat-power.gif 2324 2009-07-27 22:24:34 +0100 index.html 2979 2009-07-27 22:24:34 +0100 Nothing appeared in catalina.out. When I connected to http://www.myhost.tld:8080/xwiki/webdav/ , this happens: Transmit 4.0.5 (x86_64) Session Transcript [Version 10.6.4 (Build 10F569)] (02/07/2010 14:01) Connecting to www.myhost.tld OPTIONS /xwiki/webdav/ HTTP/1.1 PROPFIND /xwiki/webdav/ HTTP/1.1 200 OK Again, nothing appeared in catalina.out. But I couldn't see any files and my WebDAV client gives an error: Make sure your user name and password were entered correctly and that the server supports WebDAV. I didn't expect /xwiki/webdav/ to work, since the /xwiki/ part of the URL doesn't exist in my servlet container. The fix: I have removed the default Tomcat WebDAV web app, by deleting the folder /var/lib/tomcat5/webapps/webdav . Now, requests to /webdav go straight to XWiki, as Xwiki's web.xml suggests. Thanks all! Just one other quick question: where does Xwiki store logging information for its LDAP connections? I'm trying to debug Active Directory integration, and there's nothing in catalina.out. Please give your feedback on this proposal and *cast your vote* for this items (described at http://incubator.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Improvements/ActionMenuProposal2#HImprovements): 1. New Add menu +1. The Page From icons should be different. I'm not sure about the extra large and green background for the button, though. 2. Wiki/Space/Page separation +1. 3. New Delete Space entry and relocation of some Page actions +1. I like moving Access Rights to the Page menu. 4. Better Wiki/Space naming representation (WIKI: Wikiname) +1. 5. Uppercase menu usage just for top entries/labels +1. 6. TYPE: Name pattern +1.
