Re: [xwiki-users] Creating new users

2010-07-13 Thread Doolittle, Nick
Hi Marius and others,

It says xwiki enterprise 2.4-milestone-2.29880 at the bottom of the
page. When I go to the administration section, it says at the top: Jul
2: upgraded xwiki to version 2.4-milestone-2. Don't forget to upgrade
your wiki with the latest XAR. I've poked around here and I'm frankly
not sure if this is something I need to tinker with, or is something for
the back-end administrators and not myself. Could not upgrading to the
latest XAR be causing the problem?

The site is:

Hospice.myxwiki.org

Thanks for your help,

Nick

Maybe it's hosted on myxwiki.org? I encountered this regression only on
a pre 2.4RC1 snapshot. Nick, can you tell us the version of XWiki
Enterprise you're using? It should be displayed at the bottom of any
page.

Hope this helps,

 Hi everyone,

Basically new to the xwiki scene, so forgive me if this is a
painfully
obvious question. I'm trying to create new users, and the
registration
form keeps giving me a passwords are different or password is empty
error. I've tried many different passwords of varying length and
complexity, and the error is the same.

When I attempt to register a new user from an unlogged-in/anonymous
viewpoint, it throws a different error: registration has failed due
to
 unknown reasons (Error code: -1).

This is a new wiki and I haven't done any significant configuration
beyond the default settings. It's hosted on xwiki.org. Any
thoughts?

 Thanks,

 Nick

Ps. A week or so ago I noticed the search engine stopped working (it
would show no results regardless of what was searched for). I tried
re-indexing to no avail. I eventually got it to work by switching from
the Lucene indexing system to the database system and re-indexing.
Don't know if this is just another random issue or somehow connected
with the user creation problem.

[xwiki-users] [myxwiki] new wiki request

2010-06-23 Thread Doolittle, Nick
Hi,

My name is Nick Doolittle and I am a social worker with VNA Hospice Care
based in Woburn, MA. I'm interested in creating a wiki for our
non-profit company- perhaps to be shared at least in part with other
similar elder service agencies in the area- to share an array of
information regarding our services in the Boston area. This information
will be shared with other social workers, nurses, and clinical managers
within our company. Some information, such as company policy, might be
kept restricted to specific users within our agency (if such a feature
is possible within XWiki).

It would be of great help to utilize XWiki to host this wiki. My XWiki
username (freshly created) is ndoolittle. As far as a server address
goes, something along the lines of hospice or vnahc would be ideal.

Thanks much,

Nick
