Subject: [xwiki-users] WYSIWYG editor: Title 1 formatting generates html syntax
instead xwiki syntax

I have just installed XWiki, which I think is a great tool from what I have
seen until now.

However I'm experiencing a quite annoying problem: the WYSIWYG editor from my
instance of XWIKI doesn't behave like the one from the playground instance:

1. when I select a text and mark it as "Title 1", it generates ""
instead of "1"
2. the wysiwyg editor doesn't display the horizontal line below the text (as it
is displayed when the page is viewed). I saw that the demo version from
playground.xwiki.org displayis these bars while editing a content.

Perhaps there is some configuration that needs to be changed?

Thank you in advance for your answer.
Cristi.

[xwiki-users] target

2008-09-19 Thread Gabriela Radu
sorry. concerning this link:
http://n2.nabble.com/attach-with-target-td1097762.html  i did not explained
myself very good.
i want for a link (attachment link) that i create in a page(not the actual
attachment part from the bottom) to open in a new window..
all the office documents: .doc etc can be downloaded but pdf can be seen. i
want them to be seen in a new window.
so i wasn't talking about the actual attachment part, but about creating an
attachment link inthe page:
{attach:sthinh.pdf}/ this has to open in a new window. i was looking in the
editor and tiny_mce files...
a lot of them. so lost.

Hi,
if you want to display all your attachments in a new window (or in a new tab
in FF), you can add target="_blank" in attachmentsinline.vm:

   $doc.getAttachmentURL( #packName($attach.filename)

Hello,

First post!

I am an IT administrator and I have been given the task of setting up a
small internal WIKI, which I have successfully done. However it does not
seem overly user friendly and I want to check if I am just missing a
setting.

Here is what I am wanting to do.

I created a new page called "Vista Testing" on that page I want
employees to
be able to create a new page with details on the issues they are having and
I would like for the new page to be linked to the "Vista Testing"
page
automatically using the title line that the employee typed in. The way it
is now they create a new page and then have to go back to the "Vista
Testing" page edit it and link the page they created to it. This
doesn't
sound difficult but to the technically inept it is like climbing a mountain.

I simply want to make it easier for them.

hello people

i am trying to modify the doctree 1.5 plugin jar to meet my needs. i have
imported the files into my new java project (that were consistent into the jar)
and added a new library: commons-collections-3.1
the jar contents:
 DocumentTree.java
 DocumentTreePlugin.java
 DocumentTreePluginApi.java

the first one was ok, but the 2 and 3rd have loads of errors. it cannot find my
imports:
import com.xpn.xwiki.XWikiContext;
import com.xpn.xwiki.XWikiException;
import com.xpn.xwiki.api.Api;
import com.xpn.xwiki.doc.XWikiDocument;
import com.xpn.xwiki.plugin.XWikiDefaultPlugin;
import com.xpn.xwiki.plugin.XWikiPluginInterface;

i don't understand how it is ok in the plugin , but still i am asked to create

If you already know the templates, just do:

$mydoc.setContent("#template('template1.vm')#template('template2.vm')#template('template3.vm')#template('template4.vm')#template('template5.vm')")

Otherwise, just repeat the previous statement as many times as you want:

$mydoc.setContent("${mydoc.getContent()}#template('template1.vm')")
$mydoc.setContent("${mydoc.getContent()}#template('template2.vm')")
...
$mydoc.setContent("${mydoc.getContent()}#template('template5.vm')")

Re: [xwiki-users] save with a different url?

2008-05-28 Thread Gabriela Radu
Hi Tiago,

I don't think i need the yahoo api.
i have to work around xwiki and the doctree jar.
for instance: $leaf.fullName gives me the root.nameofthechild
if this is the first level of children of the tree, it's correct. but if i am
on >2 levels it's not.
for the second level from the tree, the first level leafs become roots for the
new children that will be created. and so on for the next levels.
i have to save info for each level in a generic way. i mean to be able to save
it in a dinamicaly way.
hope this makes sense... :D

Re: [xwiki-users] create new xwiki page in code

2008-05-16 Thread Gabriela Radu
Hello,
no..it does not work, because it creates a new space(website)
this is my code from the interface:

 #template("createPage.vm")
 Write the name of the new page:

and in createPage.vm i have the code from bellow.

and it creates the space(website) called createPage and the page: vm
this is so confunzing... it should haev only create a page in my current space.

Jean-Vincent Drean <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Does this script produce an error
? Do you see a new page with a wrong
name in the what's new ?
Btw at first sight I'd try to protect velocity variables :

#set($space = $!request.space)
#set($text = $!request.text )
afisare textfield: $text
#set ($mydoc = $xwiki.getDocument("${space}.${text}"))
$mydoc.setContent("test")
$mydoc.save()

Some tests to avoid empty strings would be good to have too.

Re: [xwiki-users] create new xwiki page in code

2008-05-14 Thread Gabriela Radu
hello Vincent,
i found your link most usefull , but it's made static. when i tried to give the
parameters dinamically(the name of the space, and the text from a textfield)
like this...it does not let me :

#set($space = $request.space)
#set($text = $!request.text )
afisare textfield: $text
#set ($mydoc = $xwiki.getDocument("$space.$text"))
$mydoc.setContent("test")
$mydoc.save()

i know this question is kind of a long shoot to ask..but i have no ideea why
can't it work.

Would be good if you update the

  page when you find out how to use a form to create a new page for ex.

Another hint: check the Create Panel which does exactly this.

i would answer question if i only knew the answers. and question of this
kind(legitimate) "is xwiki safe?" etc. i cannot explain. because i don;t know

But please note that the mailing list is really the best. We recommend
using the list as much as possible as:

1) it allows the full xwiki community to participate. Lots of people
have day jobs and can only participate in their free time
2) it is recorded and archived
3) it spreads the support load on to everyone and not just on the
xwiki committers

Re the response time this is an open source project so you can't
expect some fast/guaranteed response time (btw you must also answer to
other's questions if you expect them to answer your questions, it's a
give-give relationship).

If you're looking for quick and guaranteed response time you could
consider paying for XWiki support. The XPertNet company is offering
such a kind of support (http://xwiki.com).

Thanks

No need to look at vm files at all. It's actually much simpler :)

The best is for you to look at your Main.WebSearch or
Main.LuceneSearch page in your wiki (just edit them in wiki mode).

No need to look at vm files at all. It's actually much simpler :)

The best is for you to look at your Main.WebSearch or
Main.LuceneSearch page in your wiki (just edit them in wiki mode).

Alternatively you can look at how it's done on xwiki.org for the FAQ

Re: [xwiki-users] special rights

2008-04-03 Thread Gabriela Radu

 hello again.
i have tried to solve this paragraph rights for the last couple of days. didn't
work :)))
i made a var similar to $isAdvancedUser called $isMyUser and tried to give it
or not access to parts of a page. then i tried to create a macro that i can add
in my page where i want to protect the text. i was probably doing something
very much wrong . and so i am starting again. i have read your idea more times
to be sure i get it:)
i am curious where did u put the #includeTopic('Sandbox.FirstParagraph') or
more importantly where have u explained what does that mean. i see this as a
method. i still don;t know if xwiki knows about methods.
lost :)))

Sorry if I have not been able to explain myself. In fact, the problem is
that I am also a bit lost!

Let's try to start again (it will help me with this issue! It is
important for our group as well):

We are speaking about being able to create a "page" where "sections" can
have different assigned rights.

Look at this:

http://xepecnet..environmentalchange.net/xwiki/bin/view/Sandbox/NichitaStanescu

It seems a "page" including text, but it only includes five "calls" to
other "pages". Look at the code:

#includeTopic('Sandbox.Title')

#includeTopic('Sandbox.FirstParagraph')

#includeTopic('Sandbox.SecondParagraph')

#includeTopic('Sandbox.ThirdParagraph')

#includeTopic('Sandbox.FourthParagraph')

In this case I am using a page (a single XWiki entry in a single space,
in this case, Sandbox.NichitaStanescu) as a "document" metaphor and I
can assign rights to any of the pieces as you do with any other page. I
must not be difficult to add a button close to the starting point of
each paragraph that only appears if the logged user has edit rights on
each "section" and allow him/her to edit it.

Please, let me know if this makes sense for you! It will be help me to
decide if this makes sense for me! Then, we could go ahead completing
this solution.

XWiki is PLENTY of tools/features. The "only" point is to put it in the
correct order :-)

Cheers,

Ricardo

BTW: I think it is time to add XWiki to your CV ;-)

Re: [xwiki-users] special rights

2008-04-01 Thread Gabriela Radu
Hello Ricardo,

let me present 2 cases.
1- you are a user and u will access ca page. there you are allowed to edit the
"text" part but not the "links" part. and "text" and "sumbit" are on the same
page
2 - you are superadmin(administrator) and you can edit all: text and links

this is what i want to do :)) i have attached a "photo"...sorry for it...didn;t
have much time:))

so...if i understood correctly from your email..i do not wanna have a special
button placed on the page..."edit this part"
 what do you think?

Hi
 1. changing colors of a link...
i have this code:
"{style:type=div|align=left}*{style:type=span|font-size=12px|color=#ff|background-color=#DE2626}[Review
 product feedback to designers>Rev_Desfeed]{style}*{style} "
it worked fine before i made it a link:))) now i have no idea how to control
the colors. i saw something on the internet about using css.. i have used css
so far but in xwiki i think i don't get it.

You can use CSS. the color attribute targets text color. To change a link color
you need to target the element using something like a {color:
#000;}

2. i wanna merge 2 cells of a table . do ya have any idea how to do that...
and another thing..is there something like a forum for xwiki, or a website
where all the questions have been answered can be found there? so that i won't
ask question that were already asked.:)

AFAIK XWiki doesn't support cell merging as of now. However you can combine the
table macro with html to create merged cells, as in
http://www.xwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/Solutions/Subscription?viewer=code -> look
at how the table is written.

You'll find a lot of info here : http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQ/ .
Please take the time to add new entries there once you find answers to your
questions.

Thanks,

Guillaume
