Re: [xwiki-users] WYSIWYG editor: Title 1 formatting generates html syntax instead xwiki syntax
WYSIWYG editor is not stable. and "dislikes" html code. - Original Message From: Cristian SPIESCU <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: users@xwiki.org Sent: Tuesday, September 23, 2008 11:06:20 PM Subject: [xwiki-users] WYSIWYG editor: Title 1 formatting generates html syntax instead xwiki syntax I have just installed XWiki, which I think is a great tool from what I have seen until now. However I'm experiencing a quite annoying problem: the WYSIWYG editor from my instance of XWIKI doesn't behave like the one from the playground instance: 1. when I select a text and mark it as "Title 1", it generates "" instead of "1" 2. the wysiwyg editor doesn't display the horizontal line below the text (as it is displayed when the page is viewed). I saw that the demo version from playground.xwiki.org displayis these bars while editing a content. Perhaps there is some configuration that needs to be changed? Thank you in advance for your answer. I am an IT administrator and I have been given the task of setting up a small internal WIKI, which I have successfully done. However it does not seem overly user friendly and I want to check if I am just missing a setting. Here is what I am wanting to do. I created a new page called "Vista Testing" on that page I want employees to be able to create a new page with details on the issues they are having and I would like for the new page to be linked to the "Vista Testing" page automatically using the title line that the employee typed in. The way it is now they create a new page and then have to go back to the "Vista Testing" page edit it and link the page they created to it. But please note that the mailing list is really the best. We recommend using the list as much as possible as: 1) it allows the full xwiki community to participate. Lots of people have day jobs and can only participate in their free time 2) it is recorded and archived 3) it spreads the support load on to everyone and not just on the xwiki committers Re the response time this is an open source project so you can't expect some fast/guaranteed response time (btw you must also answer to other's questions if you expect them to answer your questions, it's a give-give relationship). If you're looking for quick and guaranteed response time you could consider paying for XWiki support. The XPertNet company is offering such a kind of support (http://xwiki.com). Look at the code: #includeTopic('Sandbox.Title') #includeTopic('Sandbox.FirstParagraph') #includeTopic('Sandbox.SecondParagraph') #includeTopic('Sandbox.ThirdParagraph') #includeTopic('Sandbox.FourthParagraph') In this case I am using a page (a single XWiki entry in a single space, in this case, Sandbox.NichitaStanescu) as a "document" metaphor and I can assign rights to any of the pieces as you do with any other page. I must not be difficult to add a button close to the starting point of each paragraph that only appears if the logged user has edit rights on each "section" and allow him/her to edit it. "{style:type=div|align=left}*{style:type=span|font-size=12px|color=#ff|background-color=#FF} a {color:#FFCCDF;}[Review product feedback to designers>Rev_Desfeed]{style}*{style} " it does not work..it just shows me the css code...but the colors are the same(default) that is why i said last time that i don't think i get the use of css in xwiki. can u help me with it, pls? thanks Take care , Gabriela Radu :) www.gabrielaradu.com - Original Message From: Guillaume Lerouge <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: XWiki Users Sent: Monday, March 10, 2008 4:31:54 PM Subject: Re: [xwiki-users] hello :D Hi 1. changing colors of a link... i have this code: "{style:type=div|align=left}*{style:type=span|font-size=12px|color=#ff|background-color=#DE2626}[Review product feedback to designers>Rev_Desfeed]{style}*{style} " it worked fine before i made it a link:))) now i have no idea how to control the colors. i saw something on the internet about using css.. i have used css so far but in xwiki i think i don't get it. You can use CSS. the color attribute targets text color. To change a link color you need to target the element using something like a {color: #000;} 2. i wanna merge 2 cells of a table . do ya have any idea how to do that... and another thing..is there something like a forum for xwiki, or a website where all the questions have been answered can be found there? so that i won't ask question that were already asked.:) AFAIK XWiki doesn't support cell merging as of now. However you can combine the table macro with html to create merged cells, as in http://www.xwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/Solutions/Subscription?viewer=code -> look at how the table is written. You'll find a lot of info here : http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQ/ . Please take the time to add new entries there once you find answers to your questions.
