vpopmail51 dev release
I've noticed on http://www.inter7.com/devel/ that the 5.1.0 dev has started but the download source link is bad. (http://www.inter7.com/vpopmail/vpopmail-5.1.0.tar.gz) Would it be useful to use cvs or some sort of version control? I'd personally would like to be easily track whats changed whenever a new 5.1.x is released. -- ******** Donal Diamond Technical Planning & Support Eircom Multimedia Infrastructure TEL: 7010900mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I was nice to be able to personalise bounce messages per domain. Thanks Donal
Re: What have you done for me lately?
I loved the tone of your email. But next time, please take a well deserved break and just sit down and break open a beer (or where I come from, a creamy guinness) and watch tv. > And If we did fix it, got any sneaky, dastardly ideas > on how to insinuate ourselfs into the major corporate > networks? > > It's just a hobby of mine, taking over major systems. How about stopping us download the source? There are too many install problems in the mailing list. You could take the pain of upgrading away from us, and, because you know what we really need, we automatically download upgrades from your server. Eventually, you transfer away from qmail to an enchanced "inter7mail" which we have to pay a handsome license for. At this stage we are so dependent on vpopmail that we cannot easily switch to another product. Through our license-only upgrade server, you charge for 'feature updates' (ie security patches). I dont think anyone else could come up with this concept. :-) Soon, in the future, you will be sipping martini's by your pool on your own private island wondering how we can enchance dns. Your partner in crime, Donal P.S your question is valid and worth contemplation - I just could'nt resist due to all the paranoia re .NET and MS 'adopting' FreeBSD and the fact that I'm just home from some r'r. P.P.S do a 'strings ftp.exe | grep Calif' on any windows machine - looks like they've being robbing open source this long time. P.P.P.S keep up the good work
Re: error while compile vpopmail-4.10.29 with FreeBSD 4.2 server
Sorry, it's not the --enable-hardquota=5M param that wrong. to use valias feature you need to use mysql: --enable-valias=y --enable-mysql=y Hope that fixes it. Re: error while compile vpopmail-4.10.29 with FreeBSD 4.2 server
Hi, if you do a ./configure --help .. --enable-hardquota=#|n n disables quotas, or # where # is a number in bytes NOT y, do not use Y, y is BAD ... so you need --enable-hardquota=500 Hope this helps Donal On Mon, Jul 16, 2001 at 01:19:43PM +, Mustafa Han wrote: > Hello, > > I've installed autorespond-1.0.0, ezmlm-0.53, daemontools-0.70, > ucspi-tcp-0.88 on a Freebsd 4.2 server. > But After ##make command while I Compile vpopmail-4.10.29 an error: > "" c -I. -Icdb -g -O2 -Wall -c vauth.c > vauth.c: In function `vauth_getpw': > vauth.c:278: incompatible type for argument 1 of `memset' > vauth.c: In function `vauth_adduser_line': > vauth.c:708: nondigits in number and not hexadecimal > *** Error code 1 > > Stop in /usr/home/han/qmail/vpopmail-4.10.29. > *** Error code 1""" > *** > was occurred > > my ./configure command is: > ./configure --enable-hardquota=5M --enable-roaming-users=y > --enable-large-site=y --enable-relay-clear-minutes=60 > --enable-sqwebmail-pass=y --enable-clear-passwd=y --enable-valias=y > > thank you for your help.. > > Mustafa Han >
Re: Sending Problems
Your mail server now thinks your clients are external - You have to add your new address range to your list of allowed relay hosts to whatevers your smtp tcpserver -xrules.cdb file is called. He must be senior enough to not have to go on-call and get paged at 4:30 in the morning :-) I'd prob use svok or svstat to generate an alert if fails - but still use svscan so i can sleep soundly. Then again - it's probably never failed. Donal

4.10.29 vchkpw.c:#include typo?
In case anyone else is having similiar problems, on freebsd I had to change the include in chkpw.c from #include to #include error was : ... gcc -I. -I/usr/local/include/mysql -g -O2 -Wall -c vchkpw.c vchkpw.c:30: wait.h: No such file or directory ... Prob just a typo. Ken, on the topic of adding supervise/svscan support, in an earlier mail I think you you said you dont use it on your production machines. May I ask why? Are there problems with daemontools. Regards Donal -- Donal Diamond Eircom Multimedia Infrastructure
Re: MySQL -vs- CDB [Conversion]

This is slightly OT but it was raised a question for me: If you are using mysql replication would (or is it already?) it be possible to get vpopmail to query the update (master) server if the local read-only server is not available? As well as adding redundancy, could it also be used to speed up provisioning delays i.e if user is not found is local database , could the master be queried as well? I'm just in early testing of vpopmail for use in an ISP enviroment (and results are promising, the software is v good) and haven't _really_ looked at the mysql replication features yet , so forgive me if this question in already in the docs or mailing lists. signal.h missing from vdelivermail.c ?
Hi, I'm running FreeBSD 4.3 Stable while trying to compile 4.10.26 I get the error: vdelivermail.c: In function `run_command': vdelivermail.c:645: `SIGPIPE' undeclared (first use in this function) vdelivermail.c:645: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once vdelivermail.c:645: for each function it appears in.) vdelivermail.c:645: `SIG_DFL' undeclared (first use in this function) gmake[2]: *** [vdelivermail.o] Error 1 gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/vpopmail-4.10.26' gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/vpopmail-4.10.26' gmake: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2 I dont know if this is a FreeBSD specific error but I had to add #include to vdelivermail.c to get it to compile. (All previous versions compiled without any problems) Is this a known problem? Donal
