Still same result, if i sant mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] the qmail server want to deliver the message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (note NOT [EMAIL PROTECTED] ) if [EMAIL PROTECTED] is present it delivers the mail and i can get the email at [EMAIL PROTECTED] if the user not is present it bouces the e-mail. I plain tekst, i still have the same problem. And i am still lost. (sadly) My vpomail and qmail server actually works, but not with virtual domains. Oh, how i wish for a nice jucy error message Anyway thanks to everyone who have tryed to help me so far. Sinserly Eirik Haavik

Re: [vchkpw] Not Virtual
I only changed to maildir once, when you told me to.. and its still the same way. Well, i still dont know where i did go wrong. i send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] the server tells me [EMAIL PROTECTED] do not exsist... If i create [EMAIL PROTECTED] i actually get the e-mail to it. But thats not virtual... i probaly messed up a conffile or somthing else. Yes, i tryed to restart qmail and vpopmail. When that didn`t work i actually tryed a "shutdown -r now" (if that does not restart qmail nothing does). Should i recompile vpopmail? The logs clearly states that vpopmail is looking for a mailbox. And since defaultdelivery says maildir... - Original Message - From: "David" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, March 28, 2004 10:00 AM Subject: Re: [vchkpw] Not Virtual > Did you restart qmail? > > svc -d /service/qmail-smtpd > svc -d /service/qmail-pop3d > > svc -u /service/qmail-smtpd > svc -u /service/qmail-pop3d > > Just to be sure, though -t should be enough here... > > On Sun, 2004-03-28 at 11:08, Eirik Haavik wrote: > > Hi again: > > > > as you told me i changed > > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# cat /var/qmail/control/defaultdelivery > > ./Maildir/ > > [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# > > > > but it still don`t work > > > > from /var/log/qmail/smtpd/current > > @40004066936d086cde34 tcpserver: status: 1/20 > > @40004066936d086facf4 tcpserver: pid 386 from 148.122.161.44 > > @40004066936d0b5953ac tcpserver: ok 386 spritux.com:192.168.0.10:25 > > mail44-s.fg.online.no:148.122.161.44::43219 > > @40004066936d1f48c424 tcpserver: end 386 status 0 > > @40004066936d1f48ef1c tcpserver: status: 0/20 > > > > from /var/log/qmail/current > > @40004066936d1f7cd444 new msg 1173000 > > @40004066936d1f7cfb54 info msg 1173000: bytes 1485 from > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> qp 387 uid 1043 > > @40004066936d1f8f6244 starting delivery 1: msg 1173000 to local > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > @40004066936d1f8f8d3c status: local 1/10 remote 0/20 > > @40004066936d249aeefc delivery 1: failure: > > Sorry,_no_mailbox_here_by_that_name._vpopmail_(#5.1.1)/ > > @40004066936d24a508ec status: local 0/10 remote 0/20 > > @40004066936d24e08b4c bounce msg 1173000 qp 390 > > @40004066936d24e0ba2c end msg 1173000 > > @40004066936d24f065e4 new msg 1173008 > > @40004066936d24f08cf4 info msg 1173008: bytes 2022 from <> qp 390 uid > > 1048 > > @40004066936d24ff3eac starting delivery 2: msg 1173008 to remote > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > @40004066936d24ff69a4 status: local 0/10 remote 1/20 > > @40004066936e138b901c delivery 2: success: > > 193.213.115.10_accepted_message./Remote_host_said:_250_KAA27782_Message_acce > > pted_for_delivery/ > > @40004066936e138bd284 status: local 0/10 remote 0/20 > > @40004066936e138be9f4 end msg 1173008 > > > > > > Still same error, same mailer deamon msg. > > > > If i changed defaultdelivery to mailbox now, why are vpopmail saying > > "Sorry,_no_mailbox_here_by_that_name._vpopmail_(#5.1.1)/" > > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# cat /var/qmail/pop3d > > #!/bin/sh > > /usr/local/bin/tcpserver 0 pop3 /var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup spritux.com > > /var/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d Maildir & > > [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# > > > > Surely vpopmail would be looking for a mailbox now? > > > > Sinserly > > Eirik Haavik > > > > - Original Message - > > From: "David" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > Sent: Sunday, March 28, 2004 9:24 AM > > Subject: Re: [vchkpw] Not Virtual > > > > > > > On Sun, 2004-03-28 at 10:31, Eirik Haavik wrote: > > > > Hi David. [vchkpw] Not Virtual
Hi, i am having a small problem here with vpopmail and i don`t know where else to turn. I am hoping you can point me in the right direction for finding the problem. First of all i innstalled qmail and vpopmail and everyting vorked fine for a week or two. But when i upgraded the kernel, vpopmail stoped being virtual, i dont know if i forgot som vital part or it was grscuretys kernel patch witch fucked up. Anyway, i booted up the old kernel and vpopmail still was not virtual. it seems that this is not a qmail problem [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/test2# sh inst_check Congratulations, your LWQ installation looks good![EMAIL PROTECTED]:/test2# I don`t recive any errors in the vpopmail installation. but by sending mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (haavik.us beeing a virtual domain at the server spritux.com): ./vadddomain haavik.us Hi. This is the qmail-send program at spritux.com.I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. vpopmail (#5.1.1)--- Below this line is a copy of the message.Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>Received: (qmail 3296 invoked from network); 28 Mar 2004 07:08:52 -Received: from mail58-s.fg.online.no (148.122.161.58) by spritux.com with SMTP; 28 Mar 2004 07:08:52 -Received: from user1 (ti531210a080-1083.bb.online.no [80.213.108.59])by mail58-s.fg.online.no (8.9.3p2/8.9.3) with SMTP id JAA27706for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sun, 28 Mar 2004 09:08:50 +0200 (MEST)Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>From: "Eirik Haavik" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>Subject: test fra online til haavik.usDate: Sun, 28 Mar 2004 09:08:22 +0200MIME-Version: 1.0Content-Type: multipart/alternative;boundary="=_NextPart_000_0011_01C414A4.38850410"X-Priority: 3X-MSMail-Priority: NormalX-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1158X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1165This is a multi-part message in MIME format. - It seems vpopmail means that haavik.us is a alias domain of spritux.com If i create the e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] i actually get the e-mail message there. vpopmail 5.4.0 Current settings--- vpopmail directory = /var/vpopmail uid = 89 gid = 89 roaming users = ON --enable-roaming-users tcpserver file = /etc/tcp.smtp open_smtp file = /var/vpopmail/etc/open-smtprebuild tcpserver file = ON --enable-rebuild-tcpserver-file (default) password learning = OFF --disable-learn-passwords (default) md5 passwords = ON --enable-md5-passwords (default) file locking = ON --enable-file-locking (default)vdelivermail fsync = OFF --disable-file-sync (default) make seekable = ON --enable-make-seekable (default) clear passwd = ON --enable-clear-passwd (default) user dir hashing = ON --enable-users-big-dir (default)address extensions = OFF --disable-qmail-ext (default) ip alias = OFF --disable-ip-alias-domains (default) domain quotas = OFF --disable-domainquotas (default) auth module = cdb --enable-auth-module=cdb (default) auth inc = -Icdb auth lib = system passwords = OFF --disable-passwd (default) pop syslog = show only failed attempts --enable-logging=e (default) auth logging = ON --enable-auth-logging (default) The command ./vadddomain shuld add a virtual domain right?
