Re: [vchkpw] Qmail + chkuser + smtp-auth
Hi, I have a patch here http://notes.sagredo.eu/node/82 including the latest versions of smtp-auth by E.Hoffmann, smtp-tls by F.Vermulen and chkuser. I can put together a package with just smtp-auth and chkuser if you like.. Anyway you can do it by yourself applying chkuser over smtp-tls and following the directives of the author of chkuser http://www.interazioni.it/opensource/chkuser/documentation/installation/manual.html best regards Roberto Puzzanghera On Wed, 4 May 2011 09:56:15 +0200, OVH wrote: Hi, On my Qmail 1.03 I can not simultaneously apply smtp-auth patch (qmail-smtpd-auth-0510) and chkuser (chkuser-2.0.8b-release or chkuser-2.0.9-release). [vchkpw] Duplicate pw_dir first time I use webmail
Hi everyone. I'm not sure if this is a vpopmail or a dovecot issue. When I browse the ~vpopmail/domains/mydomain/ dir I see that a subfolder named 0 contains part of the accounts. And the pw_dir of the newly created accounts is placed in that directory. I can retrieve the messages via pop3 but not via imap/webmail because the messages are checked in the upper dir. Trying to be more specific, if bob is the pw_name and ~vpopmail/domains/mydomain/0/bob is the pw_dir, when bob connects via webmail/imap a dir ~vpopmail/domains/mydomain/bob (not in the 0/ subdir) is created and he cannot retrieve his message. Re: [vchkpw] Duplicate pw_dir first time I use webmail
I would expect that the dovecot reads the pw_dir from the vpopmail db instead of using this line mail_location = maildir:/home/vpopmail/domains/%d/%n/Maildir which not contains the 0/ subdir. Is there a way to inhibit vpopmail from storing user Maildir in the subdirs? regards Roberto !DSPAM:4b05721d32714882885168!

In Dovecot pw_dir is equal to %h, so the correct usage is mail_location = maildir:%h/Maildir To disable the hashing of the user subdirs you can use the compile flag --disable-users-big-dir but you don't want to do this unless you know you will never have a large user base. [vchkpw] open.smtp don't create tcp.smtp.cdb is update
Hello: I have found some problems with my qmail+vpopmail instalation. The system don't create the open.smtp files but it's update the tcp.smtp.cdb file. When vpopmail is compiled and installed, i create -by hand- the tcp.smtp for 127.0.0.1 and then the tcp.smtp.cdb, i tried to create .cdb by hand and with cleanopensmtp. If I make the cdb with tcprules the relay is correct, i cant send mail to a non local domain, but if i create the cdb with bin/cleanopensmtp (before pop3ing) the smptd is open, a great spam victim. I suppose that the server is open because there aren't any open.smtp on etc ¿? When I poping to my pop3d it update the tcp.smtp.cdb but don't create the open.smtp/open.smtp.lock files; i try to create that files by hand but vpopmail don't update them. The directory /home/vpopmail/etc has the correct permissions and owners. I was reading the list history in http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=vchkpw and I think that I make all that u had said on it. The log of smtpd pop3 don't show any bad thing, and all poping smtping is right without errors. Perhaps, u can say something that I can try to do. Tks in advance, --- Roberto Bravo ARD System S.L. It will currently deliver email to vpopmail existing vpopmail users. Todo: 1) process .qmail-user files and .qmail-default file How to install: 1) mv /var/qmail/bin/qmail-local /var/qmail/bin/qmail-local.orig 2) cp vqmaillocal /var/qmail/bin/qmail-local done --- look this --- the problem is: Vpopmail dont send correctly information of quota used to courier. Is only be passed if .qmail (or .qmail-user) dont exist. Do tests... you look this problem. Resuming, If you have .qmail file, to configuration of user, courier-imap quota dont be used. The sum of quota used is dont passed correctly from vpopmail, then... this is a bug dont resolved. Thanks for all replyes, but this is only reply correct. Jose Roberto Kerne [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [vchkpw] possibly dumb question
Possibly a dump answer, but did you: # make install-strip ?? RE: [vchkpw] PostgreSQL support status
Charlie, Thanks for you reply, if I knew autoconf I could help you. I'm currently running vpopmail + mysql with 120k users and 4 domains but I'd rather been running PostgreSQL than MySQL. I like MySQL but IMHO, PostgreSQL still has some important features. Roberto On Thu, 2002-10-03 at 18:52, Charles J. Boening wrote: Roberto, I've asked a couple times about getting Postgres support into autoconf. I finished the code (still needs some testing from a fresh install) that Nelson Fung started. Nelson was kind enough to provide some configuration files that let me compile Postgres support using vpopmail 5.3.4. I'm currently running it in a production environment with just over 800 email accounts and two domains. I'm not having any issues that I know of. Anyone had any luck getting autoconf support for Postgres? With that, I would be able to test with the current version of vpopmail on a fresh system. I would offer to do it but don't know much about autoconf. a different UID for every domain
Hi all, is quite a year i am running qmail 1.03 + vpopmail 3.4.11 + sqwebmail 0.34b + qmailadmin 026g on a FreeBSD 3.4 box and everything works fine. Today i upgraded to vpopmail 4.9.6-1 without problems, but now i would like to use a different user (UID) for every domain, so that i can check user quota and use apache Suexec for running sqwebmail and qmailadmin. if i am not wrong, i read some time ago in the mailing list a message about setting up a different account for every domain. In the docs i downloaded with vpopmail 4.9.6-1 i didn't find what i was looking for, any reference, please ? Thanks, __ Roberto Ruffinengo Teoresi s.r.l.
