Re: [vchkpw] Qmail + chkuser + smtp-auth

2011-05-04 Thread Roberto Puzzanghera

Hi,
I have a patch here http://notes.sagredo.eu/node/82 including the
latest versions of smtp-auth by E.Hoffmann, smtp-tls by F.Vermulen and
chkuser.
I can put together a package with just smtp-auth and chkuser if you
like.. Anyway you can do it by yourself applying chkuser over smtp-tls
and following the directives of the author of chkuser
http://www.interazioni.it/opensource/chkuser/documentation/installation/manual.html

best regards
Roberto Puzzanghera

It seems that there is a conflict between these two patches. you know
a

Thanks!

[vchkpw] Duplicate pw_dir first time I use webmail

2009-11-19 Thread Roberto

Hi everyone. I'm not sure if this is a vpopmail or a dovecot issue.

When I browse the ~vpopmail/domains/mydomain/ dir I see that a subfolder
named 0 contains part of the accounts. And the pw_dir of the newly
created accounts is placed in that directory.
I can retrieve the messages via pop3 but not via imap/webmail because
the messages are checked in the upper dir.

Trying to be more specific, if bob is the pw_name and
~vpopmail/domains/mydomain/0/bob is the pw_dir, when bob connects via
webmail/imap a dir ~vpopmail/domains/mydomain/bob (not in the 0/ subdir)
is created and he cannot retrieve his message.

Can you tell me the reason of that 0/ subdir? Is it normal?

Here is my config:
netqmail 1.05
vpopmail 5.4.25
dovecot 1.2.2
webmail: roundcube 0.3

Thanks in advance for any answer

Hi,

Most likely a problem with dovecot as it would be the one creating those
directories. How ever we don't know if it's a bug in Dovecot or a
problem with your configuration.

I looked through all the change logs of Dovecot 1.2.3 till 1.2.7 and
didn't see any mention of a fix.

Could you post your Dovecot config file to a pastie site (like
www.pastie.org) and give us the url so we can take a look ?

Rick

I would expect that the dovecot reads the pw_dir from the vpopmail db
instead of using this line

mail_location = maildir:/home/vpopmail/domains/%d/%n/Maildir

which not contains the 0/ subdir. Is there a way to inhibit vpopmail
from storing user Maildir in the subdirs?

Hi,

You are correct that you should use pw_dir. In Dovecot pw_dir is equal
to %h, so the correct usage is mail_location = maildir:%h/Maildir

To disable the hashing of the user subdirs you can use the compile flag
--disable-users-big-dir but you don't want to do this unless you know
you will never have a large user base.

Rick

[vchkpw] open.smtp don't create tcp.smtp.cdb is update

2003-06-26 Thread Roberto Bravo
Hello:

I have found some problems with my qmail+vpopmail instalation.
The system don't create the open.smtp files but it's update the tcp.smtp.cdb file.

I compiled vpopmail like this:
--enable-mysql=y --enable-roaming-users=y --enable-valias=y
--enable-tcpserver-file=/home/vpopmail/etc/tcp.smtp --enable-relay-clear-minutes=60

My service run script files:
_qmail-pop3d_
exec 21 \
envdir ./env \
sh -c '
case $REMOTENAME in h) H=;; p) H=p;; *) H=H;; esac
case $REMOTEINFO in r) R=;; [0-9]*) R=t$REMOTEINFO;; *) R=R;; esac
exec \
softlimit ${DATALIMIT+-d$DATALIMIT} \
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -u89 -g89 \
0 110 \
/var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup ${POPUPHOST-`sed 1q /var/qmail/control/me`} \
/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw \
/var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d ${MAILDIRNAME-Maildir}
'
_qmail-smtpd_
QMAILDUID=`id -u qmaild`
NOFILESGID=`id -g qmaild`
MAXSMTPD=`cat /var/qmail/control/concurrencyincoming`
exec softlimit -m 200 \
  tcpserver -v -R -l 0 -x /home/vpopmail/etc/tcp.smtp.cdb -c $MAXSMTPD \
-u89 -g89 0 smtp qmail-smtpd 21

I put uid/gid of vpopmail on the scripts.

When vpopmail is compiled and installed, i create -by hand- the tcp.smtp for 127.0.0.1
and then the tcp.smtp.cdb, i tried to create .cdb by hand and with cleanopensmtp. If I
make the cdb with tcprules the relay is correct, i cant send mail to a non local
domain, but if i create the cdb with bin/cleanopensmtp (before pop3ing) the smptd is
open, a great spam victim. I suppose that the server is open because there aren't any
open.smtp on etc ¿?

When I poping to my pop3d it update the tcp.smtp.cdb but don't create the
open.smtp/open.smtp.lock files; i try to create that files by hand but vpopmail don't
update them. The directory /home/vpopmail/etc has the correct permissions and owners.

I was reading the list history in http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=vchkpw and I think
that I make all that u had said on it.

The log of smtpd pop3 don't show any bad thing, and all poping smtping is
right without errors.

Perhaps, u can say something that I can try to do.

Tks in advance,

[vchkpw] Problem with quota

2003-01-21 Thread José Roberto Kerne
Hi. I have a problem using quotas on:

Qmail-1.03 + Vpopmail-5.2.1.

My installation is in production, and i look this bug???. The quota support
dont be used correcty... For this, detect the error with the sample:

I use vpopmail with qmail, setting quota in vpopmail.

My ./configure parameters of vpopmail:

./configure --enable-qmaildir=/var/qmail \
--enable-vpopuser=vpopmail \
--enable-vpopgroup=vpopmail \
--enable-roaming-users=y \
--enable-tcprules-prog=/usr/local/bin/tcprules \
--enable-relay-clear-minutes=40 \
--enable-auth-logging=y \
--enable-logging=y \
--enable-mysql=y \
--enable-qmail-ext=y \
--enable-incdir=/usr/include \
--enable-libdir=/usr/lib \
--enable-libs=mysqlclient

I test use --enable-defaultquota and --enable-hardquota, but de problem
persist.

The problem with quota, exist when user have a .qmail file, in you
home directory.

Sample:
User: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Home: /home/vpopmail/domains/kerne.org/kerne
Maildir: /home/vpopmail/domains/kerne.org/kerne/Maildir/

Then:

This is a bug or problem with vpopmail, or (.qmail) files really dont be used ???

KT any .qmail files should be in ~vpopmail/domains/domain.com/

But i have a user, sample:

User: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Home Directory: ~vpopmail/domains/kerne.org/kerne/
Maildir: ~vpopmail/domains/kerne.org/kerne/Maildir/

Then... the .qmail file have the configuration of user: antivirus, filters, and more.

Your sample is to user alias, right ???

[vchkpw] Problem with qmail+vpopmail+quota

2003-01-21 Thread José Roberto Kerne
Hello all,

My problem with qmail+vpopmail+quota is resolved... look the problem:

--- problem and tests ---
I have problem with vpopmail + quota. Resuming:

If i have the .qmail file in HOME of user: /home/vpopmail/domains/kerne.org/kerne,
the quota suport dont used. The limit of quota to the user, dont limit
messages delivered.

But... if i remove the file .qmail (home of user), the quota support is turned on.
I was try use the .qmail-kerne file in DOMAIN HOME (/home/vpopmail/domains/kerne.org),
but this problem persist.

In .qmail file i have:

---cut---
|qmvc
/home/vpopmail/domains/kerne.org/kerne/Maildir/
---cut---

Only.

If i dont use the .qmail file, the quota support its function correctly.

This is a bug of vpopmail+qmail, or need more configuration ??

My ./configure parameters:

# ./configure --enable-qmaildir=/var/qmail \
 --enable-vpopuser=vpopmail \
 --enable-vpopgroup=vpopmail \
 --enable-roaming-users=y \
 --enable-tcprules-prog=/usr/local/bin/tcprules \
 --enable-relay-clear-minutes=40 \
 --enable-auth-logging=y \
 --enable-logging=y \
 --enable-mysql=y \
 --enable-qmail-ext=y \
 --enable-incdir=/usr/include \
 --enable-libdir=/usr/lib \
 --enable-libs=mysqlclient

--- problem and tests ---

For resolve this problem, use a workaround qmail-local (vqmaillocal), compiled
with vpopmail:

Look this in REAME.vqmaillocal :

--- look this ---
# cat README.vqmaillocal

vqmaillocal is a developmental replacement for
qmail-local. It will currently deliver email to
vpopmail existing vpopmail users.

Todo:
1) process .qmail-user files and .qmail-default file

How to install:

1) mv /var/qmail/bin/qmail-local /var/qmail/bin/qmail-local.orig

2) cp vqmaillocal /var/qmail/bin/qmail-local

done
--- look this ---

the problem is:

Vpopmail dont send correctly information of quota used to courier.
Is only be passed if .qmail (or .qmail-user) dont exist.
Do tests... you look this problem.

Resuming,

If you have .qmail file, to configuration of user, courier-imap quota
dont be used. The sum of quota used is dont passed correctly from vpopmail,
then... this is a bug dont resolved.

Thanks for all replyes, but this is only reply correct.

Possibly a dump answer, but did you:

# make install-strip

??

tom:x:1:0:tom:/m/domains/example.com/tom:1S,1000C--enable-clear-passwd=y:12345

as you can see, the quota line has the enable-clear-passwd config switch
appended to it. it never caused any problems that i could see, but it is fubar.

well, i've compiled newer versions of vpopmail at least twice since then,
yet whenever i create a new domain and populate it with accounts, it still
comes up with that fubar quota - even though i've checked, rechecked, and
triple checked my compile-time configs, and it's not being compiled with
 the bad default.

 any clues?

RE: [vchkpw] PostgreSQL support status

2002-10-04 Thread Roberto P.Martins Jr

Charlie,

Thanks for you reply, if I knew autoconf I could help you. I'm currently
running vpopmail + mysql with 120k users and 4 domains but I'd rather
been running PostgreSQL than MySQL. I like MySQL but IMHO, PostgreSQL
still has some important features.

 Roberto,

I've asked a couple times about getting Postgres support into autoconf.

I finished the code (still needs some testing from a fresh install) that
Nelson Fung started. Nelson was kind enough to provide some
configuration files that let me compile Postgres support using vpopmail
5.3.4. I'm currently running it in a production environment with just
over 800 email accounts and two domains. I'm not having any issues that
 I know of.

Anyone had any luck getting autoconf support for Postgres? With that, I
would be able to test with the current version of vpopmail on a fresh
system. I would offer to do it but don't know much about autoconf.

 Hello!

Before posting this message I searched in the archives and there are two
messages asking the same thing without replies. I expect receive at
 least one... :)

I'm asking again because everyone can see there are some vpgsql.* files
in the distribution but there is nothing in the site or docs about
PostgreSQL support.. Does it work? Is it stable? Can be used in
 production?

a different UID for every domain

2001-01-03 Thread Roberto Ruffinengo

Hi all,
is quite a year i am running qmail 1.03 + vpopmail 3.4.11 + sqwebmail
0.34b + qmailadmin 026g on a FreeBSD 3.4 box and everything works fine.

Today i upgraded to vpopmail 4.9.6-1 without problems, but now i would
like to use a different user (UID) for every domain, so that i can check user
quota and use apache Suexec for running sqwebmail and qmailadmin.

if i am not wrong, i read some time ago in the mailing list a message about
setting up a different account for every domain.

In the docs i downloaded with vpopmail 4.9.6-1 i didn't find what i was
looking for, any reference, please ?

Thanks,
