[Veritas-bu] Restore from a SDLT320 tape media using a SDLT600 drive
I have a robotic library with mixture of SDLT320 tape drives and SDLT600 tape drives. In my Netbackup 5.1 storage units configuration all the SDLT320 tape drives were configured as 1 storage unit and all the SDLT600 tape drives were configured as another storage unit. If I want to restore a backup image from the SDLT320 tape media it will always select one of the drives of the SDLT320 storage unit for restoration however I will need to use the drive from SDLT600 storage unit for restoration because my SDLT320 storage unit is always busy. Hi smpt1, do you mean the image files is the Netbackup db catalog files that was stored a the default installation path /usr/openv/netbackup/db?Can I just do a solaris cp command to copy the files to another path? [Veritas-bu] Netbackup 5.1 to use a specific tape drive for restoration.
The current setup of the Netbackup is 1 unit of Server running Solaris 8 configured as Netbackup Master/Media Server. 1 unit of L180 tape library with 4 SDLT320 tape drives and 1 unit of SDLT320 standalone tape drive is connected to the server. May I know how to restore using the SDLT320 standalone tape drive instead of using the L180 tape library? Note: Backup of the client was to the L180 tape library SDLT320 tape drive and the tape needed for the restoration have been identified and ejected from the L180 tape library. -- */Regards,/* Calvin Chen W.
