1) Check your policy you have configured to correct storage unit.
2) Check your bpsched logs for the availability of storage unit.
3) Check your drives are up on the server.

Found the answer, but raises another question. How can a job even get to the
Queued state if the storage unit defined in the policy doesn't exist?

It should fail :-) Do you have the host properties set to allow client
multiple number of tries before the backup fails??

Also, in the NBU Application, under Storage Units do you see the storage
device listed here?

I think even if its listed, there is going to be a connect time that it
tries to communicate with this device and when the time lapses, you will get
a status message along the lines of storage unit not available... Status 219
I think !?!?

What multiplexing have you got enabled? Is it one or multiple policies?

Does the job status show any other details in activity monitor when you
double click on the queued job or does it say "job still queued" ?

Also, is the policy configured to connect to the correct robot / tape drive
configuration?

Many reasons why, but would need to know a lot more to identify the cause
