Together with flies tied on them, I also have them beside a millimeter ruler
(1 inch=25.4 millimeters - 1 millimeter = 0.03937").

TMC518 #32 is 3.5 millimeters (0.138"). Straight part of hook shank, fly
part, is about 2 mm (0.079")... which is also the total length of a Mustad
277... that gives a fly part of about 1 mm (0.039").

I have been away for a while, but am now back in force.
Despite not having touched a fly rod in over 6 months, I hope to remedy
that soon.

My brother is getting married on the 27th June in NY. I will be
travelling to the US on the 15th June and will be staying until the 
14th
July. He is getting married on a yacht (holds 230 guests so not really 
a

fishing punt!) in NY  harbour. Whilst I will be predominantly based in
NY and Boston (I have been dying to fish Stripers and Bluefish in 
Boston

for years), I also hope to travel to Arkansas to catch up with 'the
boys'. Apparently I can drink moonshine and tie some funny little burnt
orange flies whilst shaving away slivers of bamboo (yes...I know.my
dreams are quite tame). If anyone is interested in catching up in or
around (within reason or a long bus ride) any of these locations, for a
drink or a fishing trip, please make contact. This trip has been a long
time coming. Despite a number of false calls, I have booked and paid 
for

the ticket. No going back now.

I look forward to catching up with as many of the group as possible.

I have been away for a while, but am now back in force.
Despite not having touched a fly rod in over 6 months, I hope to remedy
that soon.

My brother is getting married on the 27th June in NY. I will be 
travelling

to the US on the 15th June and will be staying until the 14th July. He is
getting married on a yacht (holds 230 guests so not really a fishing
punt!) in NY  harbour. Whilst I will be predominantly based in NY and
Boston (I have been dying to fish Stripers and Bluefish in Boston  for
years), I also hope to travel to Arkansas to catch up with 'the boys'.
Apparently I can drink moonshine and tie some funny little burnt orange
flies whilst shaving away slivers of bamboo (yes...I know.my dreams
are quite tame). If anyone is interested in catching up in or around
(within reason or a long bus ride) any of these locations, for a drink or
a fishing trip, please make contact. This trip has been a long time
coming. Despite a number of false calls, I have booked and paid for the
ticket. No going back now.

I look forward to catching up with as many of the group as possible.

[VFB] Back after a long 'break'

Hi All:

I have been away for a fair while now. A number of things have gone on 
in my life, and ultimately, I let things go that I shouldn't have, but 
either way, I did and apologise to all. I am only now going through 
months of VFB and the Panfish site emails. I apologise for having fallen 
out of the swaps too. They were probably the most interesting and 
'different' swaps (tiny flies, the future rope-dub, etc) that I have 
come across on our sites over many of the last 5 or 6 years since I 
first came across the VFB after returning to Australia in 2004.


In summary, based on what I have since read:

TONY (et al)- a supremely happy birthday. I hope to see you in early July.
DonO- congrats on the success of the video. I know I put my name down 
and will order tomorrow.finally.
Everyone else...I hope all is well, everyone is healthy, and  everyday 
feels like fishing a 2wt on a small mountain stream.




I hope to make amends as the opportunities arises.

Most tying demonstrations I see at the shows are dry- not the type fly,

I spoke to Reuven via Skype using SMS message about a week ago.  He appeared
to be rather down. 
His best friend was killed last year in a motorcycle accident and it sounded
like he was going through 
a rather tough time all round.
