I could use a 3 sq. patch from center-top rump- the longest and most dense.
Need to make mice and large shaped sculpin heads.
What do you need in trade?

I'd be interested in splitting a New Zeland possum. Kinda sounds like
something form the Beverly Hillbillies don't it?

DonO: Any idea about how much a person might be invested in a joint
ventre like this? I would be interested in several pieces of dyed fur, but not
a $100 worth.

Who feels like pooling resources to get good buys on pelts at Moscow
HF to divide up amongst swappers? Like the CO-OP swap, the meister buys the
pelt, photos it, and cuts it up to divide amongst the swappers, who send in
their share + SH.

Buys range from dirt-cheap to taxidermy quality, many animals listed
(dubbing quality critters), and 3 pieces would be enough dubbing to last a very
long time.

The numbers can be set by the meister and swappers. (If you want
half a pelt, find one more swapper.)

But a simple swap could go like this: (Just a suggestion of an easy
typical swap)

So you'd get a chunk of tail, some dense back, off-color thinner
belly. #1 2 swappers would want the mask for bushy flies.

There are hundreds of selections, so there could be many swaps.

Just a thought- one ore way to use the VFB for buying power.

Nick: I like it too, but I am finding it more and more difficult to learn
complicated processes like this. Old-timers disease, I guess. Maybe it would
take another graduate degree for me. What size hook is this one in the
picture?

I've been wondering about that caddis weave for a couple of years now and
search for instructions hasn't given me anything. Last night it suddenly
struck me... If I did like that, wouldn't that be something similar?
So I tried to do 'like that'. My substitute weave failed though... but
instead it turned out that I actually had CRACKED THE REAL ONE!!!

Years of scratching my head and suddenly there it was... by accident. Talk
about satisfaction. :o)

Also, how many hands do you need to keep all the strands separate, and under
the right amount of tension. I might add some (partridge) legs right between
the solid green and the black dubbing. Love the pattern.
