[VFB] RE: A good evening fishing
Hi All; Went fishing at my local pond this evening, caught quite a few fish, stopped keeping track after about 25 bluegill and 15 bass. Most the bluegill were hand sized and chunky, the bass were either 1 to 1 1/2 pounds or 4" to 6" fingelings. All were caught on a size 10 yellow gurgle pop, using my bamboo rod. The wind was coming and going, every time the wind would die down, the fishing would pick up. At times I was catching a fish on every cast. I finally stopped fishing at 9:30pm when I couldn't see to remove the hook from a bluegills mouth. One interesting thing was almost every fish swam at my kayak upon feel resistance, I got a lot of practice on quickly stripping in line to keep tension on. I ordered a bunch of keychain lights off ebay just for evening fishing, can't wait to get them now. I really like fighting fish with the bamboo rod, can really feel the vibrations of a bluegill as it wiggles back and forth. I had planned on fishing with leech patterns but, the top water action was so good, I saw no reason to change anything. She'll recover, but it'll be at least three months before she'll be able to get around again. The VFB came to Jody's aid when she was fighting cncer, i.e. Jody's Rainbow Angels" and Steve from a severe brain injury. Both have fully recovered and I know without a doubt that the VFB's prayers played a huge part in both their recovery.
