[videoblogging] Re: Off Topic... Self Publishing a Book...

2009-07-28 Thread Sheila English
Ron,

I have been in the publishing industry for 7 years and am happy to help where I
can. You can email me at sclo...@cosproductions.com.

Lulu and BookSurge are both good, but there are some that are really bad to
self publish with so be careful.

Sheila

[videoblogging] Re: Off Topic... Self Publishing a Book...

2009-07-28 Thread Caleb J. Clark
I've had a good experience, mostly, with lulu publishing this book:
http://www.noendpress.com/caleb/edtech/index.php
I make a little money off of it, mostly the PDF $3 download. I chose lulu as my
publisher and got an isbn and the book is on Amazon. But that was before Amazon
had their service, so I don't know about how good the Amazon one is. Let me
know how it goes and post the any books you publish!

[videoblogging] Re: question: camcorder

2009-07-28 Thread Gena
I approach this question based on what type of video that you want to create
and how much effort you want to put into processing and uploading your video.

If you are just getting started and new to to videoblogging I would go with the
SD Memory Card level of camcorders. You get good optical zoom levels and a
decent set of features. These can run between $150 to $400US.

I would look at:

Canon Vixia Line of Camcorders for example:
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Canon-HF-S100-Camcorder-Review-36389.htm

Samsung SC-MX20 Camcorder
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Samsung-SC-MX20-Camcorder-Review-35592.htm

If you are looking at an under $200US camcorder then you want to review the
budget line of web camcorders
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/d/Reviewslevel_b=Camcorderlevel_c=Budget%20Flash%20Camcorders.htm

I would also take a look at Camcorder review videos by users on YouTube or Blip
so that you can get feedback on video quality. Oh, and also check out CNet for
their reviews as well.

Hope this helps,

Gena

[videoblogging] Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD2000 vs. Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10

2009-07-28 Thread Roshani Kothari
Anyone use the hd2000?  If so, what do you think of the video and sound quality?
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Sanyo-Xacti-VPC-HD2000-Camcorder-Review-36280.htm

I am wondering if it is worth it to pay $300 more for it instead of the cg10
since it has a better zoom and external microphone jack.

Hi all,

Was wondering if there were any freelance digital editors in the Washington
DC area who would be able to cut together a short 3-minute video. If you're
interested, could you send a ballpark cost estimate my way?

Thanks very much and hope you’re all well,

Anna
