[videoblogging] I NEED HELP ASAP!!!

2008-04-25 Thread Darren Winkler Darren Scott
Okay, I know this is a bit odd to ask of you all but I am trying to
do a project, "that must be complete before the end of the night
tonight."
I am trying to make a video birthday card for a friend and am hoping
that some of you will assist me.
WHAT I NEED...

If you are out and about with your cameras today, could you take a
short clip of yourself or anyone for that matter saying,

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!"

If you could e-mail it to me in MPG or MOV that would be sooo cool.
I know this is a blogging site, but in a way this is blogging right?

My email address is: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

[videoblogging] How do I create SWF files with media player skin

2008-02-16 Thread Darren Winkler Darren Scott
I know that people have posted on this issue in the past but I can't
find any info in the posts now.
I need to create files for a client in SWF format that will open with a
video player skin, (play, stop, volume...)
Can anyone offer me information on how to accomplish this?
I own Flash 8 and I know you can do it but just can't get my head
around it.

Thanks very much!

[videoblogging] Re: LisaNova now on Mad TV

2007-02-19 Thread Darren Winkler Darren Scott
Has it occured to anyone else that this seems like just another
attempt by the LisaNova machine to get more exposure by using the big
profile bloggers in this group?
I am not a conspiracy person at all but why are we talking about this
YouTuber? Like most people who have seen her, i went to her page just
to see what all the hype was about and there is NOTHING there!
I just find it odd that all of a sudden there is a bunch of posts
about her here?
There are people on the net doing real work and I can tell that
LisaNova is another pre-made wet dream for freaky old men and
addolecent boys and nothing more.
I'll take Ask A Ninja anytine over this boring tripe!

[videoblogging] Re: OurMedia, Whose Media? Concerns with CC licenses...

2007-02-18 Thread Darren Winkler Darren Scott
This is a very interesting thread to me in that I am a member of Our
Media yet have found myself taking issue with the moderators of the
site many times in the past.
I have been "what they call" a guest editor and was charged with
providing the links on the home page of Our Media and I can say that
I like every other person on that site does in fact have a polital
bent.
I have been in a struggle with most of the moderators at Our Media as
I am one of those "neo-con LIBERTARIAN" members who feels greatly
misrepresented and mostly censored at Our Media.

I realize that the creators of AiB wish to maintain a balanced view
and I must say that it has been my experience that Our Media is not
in any way a balanced site and 99.9% of the users are in fact very
far to the left. "There is nothing at all wrong with that fact but it
should be clearly stated so that viewers can "be aware or beware" of
the site and it's content.

I beleive that the poster was in fact attempting to skew the content
of AiB to suite their view. It may be legal, but it should be shunned
by our community as no one here would want this to happen to their
work!

I think that Our Media should hear from all of us that "although
there is likely legal authority to re-post in this way that it is
nevertheless unethical.

Just my two cents worth.

All the best, Darren W.

[videoblogging] I was just interviewed by the Boston Globe about my Blog!

2007-02-10 Thread Darren Winkler Darren Scott
Okay, I am really stoked about this and just have to share it with
everyone here.
Last week I posted a video blog about the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Bomb
Scare in Boston, "I called it (Aqua Teen Terrorists Assemble)
Mooninite Meyhem in BeanTown" http://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=mGBcriyqJeg and John Meyer from The Boston Globe took a look at it
and wanted to interview a blogger to get our take on the issue as
well as to get a picture of why we choose the stories that we blog
about.
I am not saying, nor did I imply that I was speaking for anyone other
than myself but was pleased to see that a major paper was taking a
look at a relatively unknown blogger to get my take on the response
of the Boston autorities and to speak of the demos of my viewers.

Anyway, the article will be in next Sundays Boston Globe and they
said that it will also be available on-line at their website.

If anyone wants the link, send me an e-mail and I will forward it to
you when I get it.
I hope that I represented the community well, "I did my best to be
smart and interesting."

Have a great night all!

[videoblogging] Is Barak Obama Articulate? The Driving Blogger

2007-02-05 Thread Darren Winkler Darren Scott
Hey everyone.
Recently I started a new blog intitled "The Driving Blogger".
The idea is that I, "as most of us" am far too busy to sit around
every day making Vlogs so I decided to film my posts while driving to
and from work each day. "I know, it sounds dangerous but really it's
no worse than all of these yahoos on their cell phones right?
Anyway, tonight I did a special addition of my blog because I am
perplexed about the subjet of Barak Obama being articulate yet not
having the right to state this fact as it is now racist to say this...

I would like to start a dialog on this subject with all of you and
have posted my blog here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPXGZUWtW6s
I also have it posted at: www.drivingblogger.blogspot.com
Will you join me in this discussion and help me and others find a
path that will permit us to speak of Obama, "after all he may be our
nexr President" without becomming a racist?

Thanks to everyone and I look foraward to hearing your responses!

I wasn't sure if anyone has responded to your question about who to
contact about copyright issues.
Most music is handled in the United States by the Harry Fox Agency
which is responsible for use rights access.
I think the web link is www.harryfox.com.
Hope that this helps.

[videoblogging] Promoting you Vlog?

2005-08-17 Thread Darren Winkler Darren Scott

Can anyone help me with the issue of how to promote my Vlog?
I have some pretty cool videos and wish that I could tell more people
about it but I have no idea of how I should go about "advertising?" my
site.
Are there software tools or sites where I can promote my Vlog?

Any info would be much appriciated as I am new to the vlog world.

Thanks all!

[videoblogging] Re: Premier help...

2005-08-02 Thread Darren Winkler Darren Scott

It seems to me that almost any system can now handle 4+ gig files. I
would look at your hard drive to be sure that you have the space
avialble with an added 10 or more gigs available on the drive that
you are writing to.
You may also need to defrag your hard drive. If it is really chopped
up, it can stall Primere...
Hope this helps!

Darren...

[videoblogging] Vlogger Growth

2005-07-15 Thread Darren Winkler Darren Scott

I just can't believe how fast this group is growing each day!
So much interset in this new world of Video Blogging brings me much
happiness. Just think of how this will change the world and the way
that we will get our information and learn of new arts, ideas and
places around the world.

I want to thank the creators of this group for making a place to bring
us all together. Very Cool!!!

All the best, Darren...
