I'll be participating.. as far as 7 videos/7 days.. but not sure about the theme..  For me, 7 videos/7 days is vlogging dangerously by itself, since I'll probably be a little more sleep deprived. I'll be tagging my videos as well.. so not sure if it's necesary to add me to the list.

What do you mean by "go in and tag manually"? If you post a video
with blip and tag it "videobloggingweek2005" you can make sure those
tags get picked up by the other services by checking "Include tags in
cross-post" in your cross post settings.

That will send out the tags you choose in blip to your blog in the
appropriate format for Technorati... no other work needed.

And (Peter correct me if I'm wrong) Mefeedia will pick up your tags
from the RSS feed.

Mike

It's just too bad we can't get something that's not labor intensive to
work properly. Technorati's RSS feed has only summaries, not full
posts, so it gives crappy results when you make a digest or use the
RSS feed in FireANT or iTunes. Blip and Mefeedia are better, but they
require people to go in and tag manually, right?

Here's what I have so far from the aggregate rss feeds posted to the list.

I could make a better feed with individual vlogger's rss feeds added,
but can only do a max of 60 vloggers. (I might have said that already.

The "sign up" thing is just so I can add a list of vlogs to an RSS
feed. Yes, it'd be great if everyone tagged their videos. I
volunteered to collect everyone's videoblogs into one place so we
could all watch them. You don't have to sign up. It's optional, like
the dangerously part is optional or, for that matter, tagging is
optional.

Please add me to the list. But rather than asking people to announce
themselves and "sign up," wouldn't it suffice to just have everyone
tag their videos for technorati, then collect a list of contributors
from that? I'm just concerned that asking people to register
themselves is adding an extra layer to this, and could exclude people
who just happened to miss your email, like I almost did.

vlog. What seems normal for someone else might seem "dangerous" to you...

Why not let that be your challenge? I'm seriously thinking about

One week. Seven posts. No editing. Straight through, three minute

2006-03-31 Thread Casey McKinnon
I honestly don't know how people post every day... I would only be
able to do that if I quit my day job.

you felt you missed the boat and then vlogged that and drove your tug

what happened to me last year:

someone just said "vlog week" and before I even knew what was going on
it was happening without me. Let's promote this and make it something
big

We had remix month at WATM and that went well because we let people
know about it
lets make this Vlog week go HUGE!!!

Let's all post to our blogs announcing the date (looking at my
calendar, i think that maybe the 3rd to the 9th would be best because
then it won't overlap with Easter...)

So let's just email everyone we know and make it happen
Let's post it to our blogs
Let's talk about it on AIM and Skype

who needs to make the official ruling that this is happening?!

The obvious answer would be: Edit less. Just do one-shot videos. :o)

2006-03-31 Thread Josh Leo

I agree that it needs to happen soon but I don't want to have happen what happened to me last year:someone just said "vlog week" and before I even knew what was going on it was happening without me. Let's promote this and make it something big
We had remix month at WATM and that went well because we let people know about it lets make this Vlog week go HUGE!!!Let's all post to our blogs announcing the date (looking at my calendar, i think that maybe the 3rd to the 9th would be best because then it won't overlap with Easter...)
So let's just email everyone we know and make it happenLet's post it to our blogsLet's talk about it on AIM and Skypewho needs to make the official ruling that this is happening?!
