Hah! :)

Sounds like they haven't paid anybody for a long time, though, so
unless that changes my guess is it's more of a Romero.

2006-12-20 Thread Robyn Tippins
Yikes, that is big news.

If Wells had anything to do with the current state of Disney online, I'm
impressed. I think most sites could take a cue from kids' sites to see what
engagement really means. I've, more than once, gotten stuck helping one of
my children with a game or activity, only to fight them to stay on it. Most
of these kids' sites are now offering 'make your own video mashups' and you
wouldn't believe the number of 'mashups' my kids send to my email.

[videoblogging] Revver vs Blip for ADs?

2006-12-04 Thread inflatablemonkey
Yo ho ho,

Lots of vloggers and viral video dudes I know SWEAR by using REVVER
for ads. These same folks have their work on BLIP.TV but with no ads.
 It's one of the other.

YET, i feel as if BLIP.TV has more of a community vibe/vlogger's
interests at heart.

ANYONE got an opinion on this?

I want to do some advertising options...make a little cashola.

What's been your experience?

[videoblogging] Re: videoblogging] Revver vs Blip for ADs?

2006-12-04 Thread Mike Hudack
Right now you can opt into three different types of advertising on blip
(post-roll contextual ads from big networks, post-roll contextual ads
that anyone can buy, and player adjacent ads that are timed to the video
based on speech recognition). You can opt into the blip.tv blend
which includes advertising from several different advertising partners
all at once, or you can take a look at individual advertising partners
and decide who you like. With blip you're in control of the advertising
experience.

On Saturday we'll have a really big release of new code that will
include some really major advertising stuff. We'll be announcing on our
blog, blip-users and maybe on the videoblogging list. Between that
release and a few more announcements we have scheduled for the following
month or so I think you'll find that blip's advertising options will
blow everyone else away.

Yours,

Mike

Mike,

Very exciting news!

I stumbled across Blip's advertising options this past weekend. It
looks like you'll be offering a wider-range of ad options (ie: more
than one) than Revver... which is good (actually, great) news.

As a content producer, I want options for pre-roll ads, post-roll,
mid-roll, endplate, etc.

I signed up for the advertising, even tho there wasn't much info
available. Would love the ability to tailor (via white-list and
black-list) which companies and/or industries insert their ads on
1TrackMind.

Glad you like what we have so far! There's more coming :)

The ability to individually white-list and black-list specific
advertisers isn't there yet, but it's definitely on our roadmap. We're
really hoping to roll something like that out soon. Right now, though,
our first priority is offering as many format and revenue-style options
as possible and really ramping up the money we make for people. More
control is very important, but may take a bit longer.

[videoblogging] Revver Update

2005-11-02 Thread Paul Knight
Hi, pjkprodtuctions here, your roving reporter on all things, and my latest
adventure took
me to the far reaches of cyber space to a site called Revver, where I found you
could make
money from posting your videos there. I posted La Chat, which has always been
a
favourite of people who visit mine or the Dailymotion.com site. I originally
posted on
Sunday last, and now I have just cheked back and I have earned myself some
money, woo
hoo..

Two people have downloaded this mie and sent it to friends and they have
clicked on the
link on the end of the movie that revver put on. It works guys it really does.

I am now looking for something I can buy with the $0.10 of my earnings.

thanks

some of the answers are linked here: http://www.revver.com/aboutRevver/

everyone is trying to figure out how to monetize videoblogs.
who will be the big winner?

really, its about good videos.
look at honestarrunner.com or boingboing.com or rocketboom.com.
if you can pull in thousands of people a day...it should be pretty
easy to figure out how to make some money without going through a
third party.

i guess the big question is:
what kind of videos do make money?
can content that doesnt have thousands of viewers a day make money?

Re: [videoblogging] Revver

2005-10-31 Thread Christopher Bergeron
can content that doesn't have thousands of viewers a
 day make money?

I think so.

I have found when it comes to making money it's all
about sales. You're either selling your skills to
your employer, selling Ice Cream on the beach, selling
seats on a tour bus, or selling advertising.

If your video blog is hugely popular sure you can sell
advertising to a wide variety of buyers, but if you
want to make money with a video blog that only has a
few thousand or even a few hundred subscribers I'm
sure it can be done.

The first thing that comes to mind is being
Sponsored by an outdoor outfitter chain for your
Geo-Cashing video blog, or self sponsoring with your
own business and have your travel video blog's 500
subscribers fill your tour bus which you then enjoy
the trip yourself video blogging.

And if your lucky you can make money doing a video
blog you enjoy doing.

In the end I have always been told there are two ways
to earn a living, a job that you work at, and just
being rich...

Since I'm not rich, yet.. I'm still trying for the job
I work at that Feels like play...

I'll get there eventually.
