you may need to move up to Final Cut (it will let you specify lengths in seconds/frames) unless anyone has any ideas of shareware stuff that will do the same. d -- URL: http://29fragiledays.blogspot.com YAHOO! RE: [videoblogging] timestretching video clips
In Final Cut Pro there are two options. 1. Duration 2. Speed 1.The time duration of the clip can be set to specific timecode numbers...(this one i'm not to positive on actual specifics) 2. The speed of the clip whether it be audio/video together or separate can be slowed down or speed up forwards/backwards. This is done by percentage. Ex.I want to make this clip faster. The option is to type in 150% in the 100% box. Maybe you want the clip to run super slower, then it's 25% in the 100% box. I understand you are looking for specific time lapse at your fingertips. duration option may be a lead. I'm not one to use it in my habitual video/audio editing process, So i'm not all that familiar. Perhaps someone can further explain if not correct me if i'm in the wrong about option 1. ~juancarlos http://mrmultiple2.blogspot.com From: Philip Clark [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: videoblogging@yahoogroups.com To: videoblogging@yahoogroups.com Subject: [videoblogging] timestretching video clips Date: Wed, 30 Nov 2005 13:58:21 -0400 hi list long time no see i was wondering--is there a simple way to do timestretching/time compression of video clips with a fairly high degree of control. the 'turtle slider' in imovie has very coarse settings for doing such a thing. but let's say i wanted to take a 32-second clip and scrunch it down to exactly 30 seconds without cutting anything out. or maybe stretch it out to 35 seconds. any ideas? thanks, philip -- xo philip http://swordfight.org videoblog http://destroyhotaction.com remix pr0n vlog http://vlogforum.org videoblog messageboard _ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Re: [videoblogging] timestretching video clips
around the 30/11/05 Philip Clark mentioned about [videoblogging] timestretching video clips that: i was wondering--is there a simple way to do timestretching/time compression of video clips with a fairly high degree of control. the 'turtle slider' in imovie has very coarse settings for doing such a thing. but let's say i wanted to take a 32-second clip and scrunch it down to exactly 30 seconds without cutting anything out. or maybe stretch it out to 35 seconds. any ideas? in QT pro get a clip (say from any audio CD) that is exactly the length you want (just set in and out points or shift select the duration you need. edit copy. file new paste you now have a qt movie of the desired target length (ignore for now not desired content). but this to one side. open your video clip, select all, edit copy. go to clip A select all edit add scaled (or stretch to selection or whatever it is these days) your video is now the length (duration) you want. get movie properties delete the first track (from the audio cd since you don't want it) file save as (always save as). there is a qt movie called time.mov floating around out there, is a text track movie and its one purpose is to let you easily do the above. -- cheers Adrian Miles this email is bloggable [ ] ask first [ ] private [x] hypertext.RMIT URL:http://hypertext.rmit.edu.au/admin/briefEmail.html Yahoo! QT pro. Put a 30 second bit of music or whatever in QT and paste your :35 piece into it using edit -->> add scaled, et voila. Jan -- It isn't done alone.
