Re: [Videolib] online streaming sources for short films?
IndieFlix video streaming has a lot of short films in its collection (Half of the 2000 titles are under 40 minutes). Library subscriptions are managed by Recorded Books. I don't know what the pricing structure is, but I like what I've seen of the content interface. http://indieflix.com/ Barb Bergman | Media Services Interlibrary Loan Librarian | Minnesota State University, Mankato | (507) 389-5945 | barbara.berg...@mnsu.edu From: videolib-boun...@lists.berkeley.edu [mailto:videolib-boun...@lists.berkeley.edu] On Behalf Of Maureen Tripp Sent: Friday, August 23, 2013 12:27 PM To: videolib@lists.berkeley.edu Subject: [Videolib] online streaming sources for short films? Happy end of summer/new term everyone! Here at Emerson it is becoming apparent that short films are all the rage with film faculty-does anyone know of good online sources them? VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
[Videolib] Suggestions for an introductory video for comparative politics?
Whoo boy! I don't even really understand what the professor is asking for here…. So I turn to the Borg collective here to see if anyone can suggest titles to address this faculty member's request. Thanx for your help! -deg In my Introduction to Comparative Politics class, I begin the course with a discussion of what is comparative politics and then turn to a discussion of situated knowledge as one form of knowledge production as opposed to liberal universalistic approaches to knowledge production. Then I turn to approaches to comparative politics--rational choice theory and political ethnography--to show how these approaches are tied to different forms of knowledge. deg farrelly, Media Librarian Arizona State University Libraries Hayden Library C1H1 P.O. [Videolib] PPR for You don't know Jack?
I'm new to this list, and couldn't see archives to search for this, so please bear with me. Two professors want to screen or stream two different HBO Films docudramas in class. They are not available in our Swank/ Digital Campus, Films on Demand or VAST/Alexander Street. My college is not non-profit, so I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of who to contact for PPR rights? 1) You Don't Know Jack - HBO Films, TV docudrama about Jack Kevorkian, starring Al Pacino. (DVDs distributed by Warner Home Video). 2) Too Big to Fail - HBO Films. TV docudrama about 2008 financial crisis and decision on bank bailouts (DVDs distributed by Warner Home Video). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks, Vicki Vicki Sciuk, MLS Librarian, Dover Campus Berkeley College 1 W.
