I've tried to install any drivers I could find for the zip driver,

It's possible the USB card is the wrong type. What OS are you using?
I would try a USB mouse or keyboard with it. Those are the most
basic devices and will almost always be supported.

Also, assuming I get a USB zip drive working and share it, can my
IIci see it and use it through appletalk?
Sure. Basically any locally mounted volume can be shared using
FileSharing except for floppies. That includes RAM Disk (not certain
though) and mounted disk images.

Any card with USB 2.0 will be dropped down to running at USB 1.1 rate
when used with a machine running OS9. I have one of those ATA Trio
card and I was using it on a 7600 running OS9.2.2 with no problem,
except for what I mentioned above.

The card has to be OHCI compliant to work with Mac OS.
USB 2.0 devices will not work with any "classic"
Mac OS because Apple and all 3rd party USB

the freelance programmers who do things like OS9

Re: PowerMac 7500 USB

You probably got one of those "cheap" USB card - they tend to be flakey
under OS9. You probably need to exchange it for another card until you
got one that works. Once you have it working, I don't see any problem
sharing it with a IIci.

I have the above 4 computer version found mint on eBay for around
$50 or so
with full cables sets. As you can see they are a bit expensive new,
but used
ones are affordable and worth it for space and convenience.
I've a 8 port and a 4 port Avocacent switch. (19" for PCs).
I connect the macs (840av and a 9600). Industrial stuff
I saw the vendor has ps/2 to adb converters, but they are Eur 70 the
set.
They also can connect Sparcs etc to it, same pricerange.
