I’ve never set one of these timers for Bard in the native clock app, but I noticed that there was a setting that says “when timer ends”. You can double-tap on the current action that it has set up to start when the timer ends, usually the name of the alert tone, and at the bottom of that screen, there’s an item that says, “stop playing”. Latest Prizmo update, beware!
Hi, I just updated Prizmo today and find that there is something wrong. Not sure what it is, but I haven't managed to get it to recognise any text. Using the same sample document, however, TextGrabber is working well. So, I am pretty sure it is this latest incarnation of Prizmo that is having the problems. It seems, after taking the shot, the image of the text is just a black screen. If anyone is having success with this latest version of Prizmo, would you please let me know. I have my alarm set for a sound when it goes off and timer set for no sound. This way, I can most times ask Siri to set a timer for BARD, but use alarms at other times. Setting an alarm may not be as precise as using the countdown timer, but for most uses it is perfectly acceptable. trying to use the column browser in my music library
Used to, I could use the column browser in the music library by pressing control-b or ctrl-shift b (can't remember just now which). I put my 29 gig 8000-song holiday play list on my new ipad and then later decided that I really didn't want it there after all and erased it. Like a good program, it took it off the computer as well (how about getting what I asked for but not what I wanted). All I can manage to get in itunes now is a list of albums in this awful grid mode and they are in pieces depending on who solos or doesn't solo. I'd like to get my albums in the way the old column brouser presented them and the whole album at that. Blind Square: Adjusting The Filter Annoucement Level
Hello, In Blind Square, on the top row, the fourth button or tab from the left is filter annoucements. Single finger double tap on it to open the dialog box. The first item is a picker with 6 options on how much information one wants to hear from Blind Square. The first option is all. This will annouce and list all catagories one has selected. For me, it's too much info, so I only have my places and streets selected. This is a personal decision on the amount of annoucements one wants to hear. HTH. updates seem to be stuck what should I do?

I am using my IPhone 4s and when trying to update the app store seems to be stuck it says there are 4 updates and they all seem to be stuck. there is one for prismo, Skype for I phone and 4 square as well as degreese. they all say either connecting or cancel download and the download is at 0 percent. I'm having trouble syncing music
Hi, The other day I purchased some music from the itunes store. I plugged in my iPod touch and all the songs have been added. I’ve plugged in my phone and have entire music library checked to be synced but it is not syncing all the music that was purchased. How do I fix this so everything will be added to my phone? Talking Tuner Update
I updated Talking tuner last night. Has anyone experienced any problems with accuracy since the update? I can't seem to get the accuracy I was getting before in tuning my harp. Hi Larry, There are several radio buttons in the music area in iTunes, they are: songs, Albums, Artists, Genres Playlists As you tab through them Jaws says button Songs radio button, unchecked, button albums radio button unchecked etc. You have to make sure you check the Songs radio button, only then can you enable the column browser, the column browser option is greyed out if you check Albums, Artists, Genres or Playlists. Hi, how does someone set my places and is that like points of interest? For example, I want to set an announcement so that blind square announces a bus stop of my choice especially now that winter is here and landmarks are probably going to be buried. Another is a Barber Shop that I wish to use and mark that as my PoI. I noticed that as I was leaving the Barber Shop it stated the name of the shop but didn't announce it as I was going there. I love Blind Square but need to get more information to how to benefit more with it. I have the Breeze and love that but, having one unit that does many many things is just mind blowing. Creating Ringtones with iTunes, was: help with creating ringtone from iPhone music library
Hi Jerry, I am making the following assumptions: 1. You are using Windows 7 2. You installed iTunes using default settings 3. For my example I assume your Windows user name is Jerry. If the above is true, your Tones folder is located in the following location: C:\users\jerry\music\iTunes\iTunes Media You should have the Automatically Add to iTunes folder here and, if you have Music and Apps synced to your computer there should also be a folder called Mobile Applications and Music. If you ever bought a Movie or TV Show on iTunes you would also have a Movies and TV Shows folder and you would have an Audio Books folder if you ever bought an Audio Book from iTunes. Keep in mind that any of these folders will only be created and only show up if they are required. The Tones folder may not be there if you have never bought any ringtones or if you never synced tones via iTunes. You can create a folder manually and call it Tones or Ringtones and then put any ringtones you have in it or you could just copy the tones you have into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, then open iTunes and iTunes will create a Tones folder and move the ringtones from the Automatically Add to iTunes folder into the Tones folder and at the same time import them into your Tones library in iTunes. You must also understand that manually putting media into any of these folders does not mean it's automatically in the appropriate library in iTunes. If, for example, you copy songs into the music subfolder, you have to still go to File and Add Folder to Library, then browse to the Music folder in iTunes Media and press Select in order for the songs you put in it to get added to your library. If it's only one song or tone, you could also go into the music or Tones folder and press enter on the item you want to add. If you don't have iTunes already open this should open iTunes and play it and doing this will add it to your library. As far as creating ringtones, you can create ringtones using any program you want, but the program has to be capable to either save the tone in the iTunes ringtone format which has the extension M4R or at least save it in AAC format which is the iTunes music format and which has the extension M4A. If you can save in M4A, you have to then manually change the extension to M4R and it will work. I assume you know how to rename a file in Windows, keep in mind that in order to change a file extension you may have to go to Tools and Folder Options in Windows Explorer, Control+Tab to the View tab and then find the item Hide Extension for Known File Types and turn it off, by default this should be on. Only after you turn this off you can edit/rename the file with the M4R extension. If you use Soundforge and it can only save ringtones in MP3, you would have to import the MP3 ringtone into your iTunes library as music, then find it, right click on it and select the option Create AAC Version. This would create an M4A version of the MP3 ringtone, you have to find it in your Music subfolder in the iTunes Media folder, rename it with the M4R extension and then Cut and Paste it, into the Tones Folder, lastly press enter on it to play/add it to your library. Also make sure any ringtones you create are no more than 40 seconds in length, otherwise they won't work. Finally, below are instructions I have posted several times over the last couple of years which explain how you can create a ringtone from a song in iTunes using iTunes. Good luck. 1. Find the song you want in your iTunes library 2. Press Control+I for Get Information, arrow to the options tab, tab to start and end time and set end time to no more than 40 seconds. 3. Right click on your song and select Create AAC Version 4. Right click on the newly created 40 second version of the song and select Show in Windows Explorer 5. Cut the song with Control+X, then go to your Tones or Ringtones folder in iTunes Media which in turn in in i/tunes which in turn should be in your Music or My Music folder. 6. Paste the song with Control+V 7. Go to the Tools menu of your Windows Explorer window, go to Folder Options and the View tab, make sure Hide extensions for known file types is Off. 8. Rename the .M4A extension to M4R. 9. Press enter on the newly renamed file to play it in iTunes, this automatically adds it to your Tones library. 10. Connect your phone, make sure Sync All Tones is selected or if you sync selected tones, make sure your new ringtone is checked, then sync your phone. That's it. Below are the more detailed instructions. This is for Windows, not sure what would be different if you use one of the inferior Mac computers *smile*. Creating Ringtones from songs using iTune for Windows: 1. Find the song you want to make into a ringtone in your Music tab in iTunes. 2. Right click and select Get Info. Go to the Options tab, tab down to Start Time and check it by pressing the space bar. Tab again and specify the Start Time. usually you start at the beginning of the

Volume is important as I've found some devices hard to hear when there is background noise. I would prefer not to be wired to my computer. Feeddler pro
Hello, I just installed Feeddler Pro and can't find a way to only show me the items of one feed. There are the following things: Subscriptions heading, edit button, the name of my account (email address), all items settings. On the free version, there was a n option named feeds between all items and settings. Right now, I can only go through a mixed list of all articles. Sorting by feed doesn't seem to be possible. If you are talking about a book from audible.com, there is no need to transfer it to your phone. BARD Mobile App and Download Progress Bar
When I download BARD books using the BARD Mobile app, the download progress bar does not change or announce progress that I can detect. Is this the same for others using this app? I thought I remembered a voice announcement of the download progress when I first got the app but I'm not sure. I could find nothing in the settings that relate to this so I'm looking for others' experience. My experience is that the progress bar just sort of sits there until the download is complete and the completion is announced. Thanks for any comments on this. When I download a book, the progress bar is updated for me. To hear VoiceOver announce the progress bar updates, the focus needs to be on the line with the progress percentage on it. Have you tried VIPagenda? Can't get BARD Transfer to Open from UbiDisk
Hi, Everyone. Subject line says it all. I've managed to download books in to the folder in the UbiDisk app. I see the files there, go to the Action button under More Info, and choose the BARD app to open the file. The app opens, but my book doesn't show up on the shelf e.g., I've got 15 books, (added through the app itself), and now with this transfer should have 16 . What am I missing? I just got a new IPhone 5s from Verizon and I did a restore from backup on it. Now when I try to go to wish list in the bard mobile app I receive an http/1.0 500 internal server error Does anyone know what this means and how I can resolve it? When you download an app from BARD just click right or left and it will announce the download progress. After it downloads a tone will go off and VO states the book has been downloaded. Dropbox problem
I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but haven't found it. I have two iPhones: a 5 and a 5S. Dropbox is fine on my 5. But on my 5S, I get a page that says welcome and tells me to sign in if I already have an account but I see no button, link or anything else to double tap. There seems to be no way to sign in. What am I missing? I'm getting the same error. I got a message earlier today that BARD would be unavailable while the system was being upgraded. I wouldn't worry about it unless it persists. Hi Ronda, You can sync the book via iTunes, but unless you have a specific reason why you don't want to use the Audible app which is fantastically accessible, Cheryl's recommendation to just download the free Audible app would also be my first choice. Any books you ever purchased will be available in the Cloud tab and you can download any of the vbooks directly to your iPhone. As of the last update Audible has even removed the 50 Mb download limitation via cellular data so that you can now download an entire book if you are travelling and have no WiFi. I always thought that this was a limitation Apple imposed on developers, but it is apparently possible for developers to not have a download limitation.
