Text Grabber Back On Sale

2014-05-21 Thread Eileen Misrahi
HELLO All,

Looking through "Store News" and saw that Text Grabber and Thanslator is back
on sale again. The price is 1.99 instead of 5.99. Here's the link:

http://link.store-news-app.com/2.0/?itunes=https%3A%2F%2Fitunes.apple.com%2Fus%2Fapp%2Ftextgrabber-%2B-translator-recognize%2Fid438475005%3Fmt%3D8&storeID=1

This is a savings of 67'%. This app works well with the StandScan Pro. Happy
scanning.

Best,
Eileen

Re: aftershokz headphones

2014-05-21 Thread Alex Hall
The Sport is wired with microphone, the Bluez is bluetooth with microphone. The
Bluez has recently been updated to the Bluez 2, and I understand it is
currently back-ordered until sometime in June. Both have play/pause an volume,
I believe, though i only have personal experience with the Bluez 1 and 2. I
strongly recommend you read reviews of the Bluez 2 before ordering, though, as
some people (myself included) find them extremely uncomfortable to wear for
very long.

Re: List of Bluetooth keyboard commands for iOS

2014-05-21 Thread Christopher J Chaltain
It doesn't give a lot of information, which you probably don't need
since you've seen the podcasts, but if you're just looking for a quick
reference of VoiceOver bluetooth keyboard commands then I just go to
Apple's page at http://help.apple.com/iphone/5/voiceover/en/iph6c494dc6.html

I don't have this saved as a bookmark myself, but it's easy enough to
find with a Google search.

Hi all,

entries regarding Bluetooth keyboards. Though I found some good leads, it
appears lots of the information goes back quite a bit in time. I'm hoping
someone might convey a recent list of commands for external Bluetooth
keyboards on iOS 7. Does such a list of commands exist?

I also just received the Amazon Basics keyboard so many on this list are
using, and I really do like it. . I do have a problem with it in
that
it takes about 25 seconds for my iPod to pickup the Bluetooth signal if I
turn off the keyboard then turn it back on. I listened to Raul's demo, and
his keyboard turned on within 5 seconds or less. Is there a way to
increase
the Bluetooth connection time?

I had an interesting shopping experience at Amazon.com. I purchased the
keyboard, and they delivered it the very same day--that's some great
service. I thought it would cost me an arm and a leg, but normal UPS
ground
delivery was only $1.50 less and would take 3 or 5 days. For same day
delivery, $1.50 more was definitely worth it. I don't know how Amazon.com
could pull this off so quickly, but they did. Must have been one of their
new octo-copters which flew over my house and dropped the thing off.
.

Again, any help with a list of Bluetooth keyboard commands will be greatly
appreciated!

Re: fitbit and fitbit flex question

2014-05-21 Thread Traci Duncan
Yes, I set it up on my own.

The app will tell you your steps, calories burned, distance traveled. If you
decide to set up food/water intake, it will keep track of those
calories/ounces. Oh, and it does some tracking while you sleep.

If you are getting close to your goal in a day, the app sends an alert. If you
reach your goal, the Flex on your wrist vibrates.

Again, any help with a list of Bluetooth keyboard commands will be

Hello, I also have the Flex and I'm using the same FitBit free app.

As far as I can tell, the FitBit syncs automatically. If you flick past
those 3 buttons yesterday left, today, then day right, you will come to your
Flex button. This button says Flex, looking for your Flex, or Flex Syncing,
or Flex connected. When it says Flex connected you are all synced up.

You can double tap this Flex button, which will bring you to more
information about the Flex. It tells you when last synced, firmware
version, battery level, silent alarms, main goal, wrist, all-day sync
on/off, then sync now.

:) good luck,
Traci

  Hi:
In the bard app, how do you play a book while the screen is locked. I
thought you could do this. I believe I even have that on yes in the bard

Re: fitbit and fitbit flex question

2014-05-21 Thread Traci Duncan
Hello, I also have the Flex and I'm using the same FitBit free app.

As far as I can tell, the FitBit syncs automatically. If you flick past those
3 buttons yesterday left, today, then day right, you will come to your Flex
button. This button says Flex, looking for your Flex, or Flex Syncing, or Flex
connected. When it says Flex connected you are all synced up.

You can double tap this Flex button, which will bring you to more information
about the Flex. It tells you when last synced, firmware version, battery
level, silent alarms, main goal, wrist, all-day sync on/off, then sync now.

:) good luck,
Traci

Thanks Scott. I actually got in touch with Jd, the founder, and Crystal, one of
the many members of the Agogo team, and found out a little more and I'm really
loving it so far. I can't wait to see what they do. I stumbled across them the
other day out of curiosity and loved it. I've tried Aha Radio but something
about it just doesn't do it for me but Agogo just looks better, and feels
better in general. Anyway, thanks for getting back to me and like I said feel
free to follow me on Facebook, and I'm also on audio boo, Temmons2013 and I
tend to do random stuff on books, music, and a ton of tech stuff because that's
just who I am, Lol. Anyway, take care and talk to you guys soon. Tell Bri I
dropped off twitter but I'm still around, Lol. catch you guys later on.

List of Bluetooth keyboard commands for iOS

2014-05-21 Thread Joseph FreeTech
Hi all,

I just finished going over about 14 pages of the AppleVis podcast and forum
entries regarding Bluetooth keyboards. Though I found some good leads, it
appears lots of the information goes back quite a bit in time. I'm hoping
someone might convey a recent list of commands for external Bluetooth
keyboards on iOS 7. Does such a list of commands exist?

I also just received the Amazon Basics keyboard so many on this list are
using, and I really do like it. . I do have a problem with it in that
it takes about 25 seconds for my iPod to pickup the Bluetooth signal if I
turn off the keyboard then turn it back on. I listened to Raul's demo, and
his keyboard turned on within 5 seconds or less. Is there a way to increase
the Bluetooth connection time?

I had an interesting shopping experience at Amazon.com. I purchased the
keyboard, and they delivered it the very same day--that's some great
service. I thought it would cost me an arm and a leg, but normal UPS ground
delivery was only $1.50 less and would take 3 or 5 days.

Joseph

fitbit and fitbit flex question

2014-05-21 Thread denise avant
Hi all,
I just got a fitbit flex with sleep band. I am wondering which app goes with
the fitbit flex with sleep band. I have it paired with the free fitbit app, but
notice that the buttons for the previus day, day and next day buttons are all
dimmed. I have yet to find any of the buttons like the sync button I heard
about in a recent podcast. So, perhaps I have the wrong app or need to do
something else.
thanks.

RE: battery case for the iphone 5s

2014-05-21 Thread SSEric
I really like the Mophy Helium. It adds very little to the sides and back of
the phone and about the same length as measures from the top of the earpiece
slot to the edge of the phone. Sorry, no ruler handy to give actual measure.
I generally get two charges from about40% phone battery to 100%.

My one criticism is if you have an angled earphone plug, you must use an
extension cable. The one that came with mine is about 3 inches long, but is
quite stiff. This essentially extends the length of the phone by those
couple of inches, plus the plug itself. I have a short cable from somewhere,
but it doesn't have something because the call/volume buttons will not work
with it.

Hi, when i hear all the fantastic things Siri can do including this reminder
thing, i can't help thinking that it's too bad Siri isn't and probably never
going to be available in other languages than the "big" ones, that is american
english, french, german and so on. Insignificant languages like the
scandinavian ones will just simply have to make do without Siri and other
anglocentric features which seem to become more and more prevalant in the later
OSes.
Just saying.

RE: Maybe OT, Don't Know, but.

2014-05-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Shawn,

If your friend is looking for the kind of functionality Type 2 Phone
provides, then why not just get a Bluetooth keyboard for use with the
iPhone? Type 2 Phone more or less allows you to send text you type on your
Mac over to the iPhone so it's easier if you are at home to send text
messages or emails from your iPhone. You can also use it with the Apple TV,
but since you can now pair a Bluetooth keyboard with the Apple TV this once
again becomes less interesting.

In any case, there is a nice little app which I do find useful sometimes if
I am doing email on my PC and maybe I want to have a tracking number
available in the clipboard on my iPhone so I can paste it into my tracking
app.
The app is called ZeroTap, see link below. This works via a web app on the
PC, you simply go to http://www.orru.org/zerotap/magicbox.php on the PC, log
in with a user name and password you have to set up and then you can type
any text into the "magic box" on the PC. When You are done open the ZeroTap
app on your iPhone and the text you just typed on the PC is there. You can
then use the Copy to Clipboard button to copy said text to your iOS
clipboard or you can also send the text straight to a text message, an email
or Twitter as soon as you open the ZeroTap app on your iPhone. To do that
type the text on the PC and then in the combo drop down box specify SMS,
Mail or Twitter.

Here is the ZeroTap link, it is a free app and while it hasn't been updated
for 4 years it works just fine:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zerotap/id354136937?mt=8

This is one of these apps that are useful to have and which just seems to
work even though there have been several major iOS version releases since it
came out. Who knows, it could be one of these apps which might just not be
there some day but which continues to work for those who have it.

Hey guys. Don't know if this is off-topic or not. If so, then forgive me. A
friend of mine wants to know if there's something on the PC that will allow
him to control his iPhone. I know there's a such app for the Mac that would
allow the user to do just that called Type 2 Phone, but since I never use my
iPhone in the Windows environment, I figured I'd ask someone who is using
their's with Windows. Again, if this is off topic, I apologize. Thanks.

There was just a nice little Podcast on Applevis as to how you can Jailbreak

advice to you, Pablo, is to carefully consider whether you want to do so and
why you might want to do so. I know you are often dissatisfied with how
Apple does things, but jailbreaking can make things worse and not better if
you end up installing a lot of tweeks or jailbreak apps and it might be
difficult to find out what exactly causes an issue. Also, while Jailbreaking
is not illegal, it will void any warranty of your device so if you have an
iPhone 5S which is still under warranty you should keep that in mind. Also,
if your purchased Apple Care then you basically wasted the money for that if
you plan to jailbreak.

Lastly, if you already upgraded to iOS 7.1.1 jailbreaking is not an option
for you, currently the latest jailbreak only works if you are still on iOS
7.0.4.

Now having long learned how to use my iOS device, I thought I would

My point is that if one is finished learning how to use their iOS

RE: Phone will no longer update

2014-05-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Brian,

First thing I would do is close all apps from the app switcher and restart
your device by which I mean turn it off completely, wait 30 seconds and hen
turn it back on.
Now try to update, instead of doing this from the app store, you may just
have to doiuble tap on whichever app or apps didn't work before.
If this doesn't work just wait until tomorrow and try again, it could just
be a temporary issue with the app store.
