I changed my Apple Music to a family plan, now how do I add people to my plan?
Hi. I was able to change my Apple Music plan to family. From what I understand, I need to add them to my account. How do I do this? I'd like to use iTunes if possible. Thanks in advance for help. RE: An interesting delimma with my phone
Sounds like maybe a lack of space especially if you can' upgrade. Have you force quit all apps in the app switcher and rebooted? A Reset all network Settings in Settings, General, Reset may even help more, but make sure you close all apps first and remember you will have to reconnect to your WiFi after this and require your WiFi password. As for the 4S, even iOS 9 will be supported and I doubt your issues are related to compatibility problems. To me it sounds like iOS 9 in the end may even run better on a 4S than 8.x is since Apple is doing a lot to streamline iOS and many apps will have versions which are optimized for specific phones although you won't have to select this manually, it will automatically happen. The 4S is almost 4 years old so I don't say upgrading would be a bad thing and in fact I think you would enjoy the speed, improved battery life and features of a new phone, but as long as your 4S has no major hardware issues it should still work fine. RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes
Hello Dave, I am so sorry that you are having this experience. To be honest, your post is somewhat vague. For example, what version of iTunes for Windows are you using? and, just so we know, what version of Windows? It would also be quite helpful to know what software screen reading solution you use on your PC. The scenario you described in your post, is also confusing because it sounds, to me at least, as though you are attempting to delete unwanted apps from your iTunes Library, itself, as opposed to merely removing the apps from the iPhone. There is a big difference between these two operations. Assuming that you merely wish to delete apps from your iPhone, only, I suggest that you use the delete gesture on your iPhone, itself, to remove an app. Now I realize that this does not answer your question, directly but it will get you started in the right direction in terms of cleaning up your iPhone. To begin the troubleshooting process, I suggest the following: 1. While the phone is not connected to your PC, reboot both the phone and the PC. 2. Connect your phone to your PC and sync it with iTunes. 3. After successfully syncing, disconnect the phone from the PC. 4. On the phone, itself, delete an app. 5. Connect the phone to the PC and sync it with iTunes. 6. Before disconnecting the phone, yet again, explore the phone, itself, to see if the app reappears anywhere on the Springboard. If it does not, then all is well. If it does, let us know. Taylor Sent: Friday, July 24, 2015 6:47 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: A Definitely Good Audio Book Alternative Hello Everyone, A list member recently mentioned to me his solution to the iOS 8.4 iBooks problem. He is using an app called Bookmobile. Bookmobile is a dedicated audio book and podcast player. It is designed for the true audio book enthusiast. According to the list member, it takes some time to get familiar with the somewhat unusual interface, but this solution features everything he needs: sleep timer, playback speed, navigation controls, chapter support, bookmarks, etc. Moreover, it is not necessary to copy the audio books into the app as bookmobile can access ibooks and podcast data. While it is free for evaluation, the price for the full version is $3.99. Search for it in the App Store or visit the developer's website at: http://freshmowed.com/bookmobile.html If you like it, be sure to give it a positive VoiceOver review in the App Store. RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes
Apologies, Mark, I should have clarified. Running itunes version iTunes 12.1.2.27 64-bit Using windows 8.1 64 bit Using window-eyes screen reader. As far as deleting apps, yes, I can delete them from the phone, I just wanted a faster way to do that since the only way I know if doing it is to do the double tap and hold and then delete with another double tap. I should really just get a Bluetooth keyboard. I'd like to delete both from my library and from the iphone, I just want those apps gone from my account, but mostly off the phone. I will try your suggestion about deleting and resyncing apps. Thanks for that process, I appreciate it. It makes sense, I just couldn't figure out the sequence of steps to do it in. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of M. A very good audiobook player that is VO friendly
Before the BARD app was available I used this app extensively to read audiobooks on my iPhone. It was very VO friendly, although not perfect. RE: A Definitely Good Audio Book Alternative
Hello Gary, As I received the recommendation from a fellow list member, I can only assume that Bookmobile is VoiceOver accessible. However, I have not yet used this app. As the app does allow for a free evaluation period, there is certainly no risk in taking it for a proverbial test-drive. Apple Music Questions
Help with any of these or pointers to answers will be most appreciated. I am subscribed to Apple Music. I am not quite understanding For You, My Account, the screen that shows recommendations of playlists. It seems there are maybe four lists per screen, if you just flip up and down, but if you slide your finger you discover lists not originally shown when flipping. Also if I choose a list and go into it to play or just explore, when I go back to the choices I am taken back to the top of lists and then have to find my place, sometimes 30-plus screens down. Is there a way of going in and out of lists and landing where you left off? It also seems a new list has been inserted in the original screen or an existing list from many screens down is now nearer the top. Without documenting this, it is subjective, as I don't have the memory to be sure I choose a list, start a song and go into the mini player; choose More and Add to My Music. When I go to My Music, I cannot find the songs I have added. Where do they go? Help with any of these would make the experience a whole lot better. All thanks! RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes
Well, if I delete the app from the iphone and then reopen itunes, then select iphone apps, it seems to be gone from the list. So that's good, I was just hoping to delete it on my pc and then have the app deleted from my iphone when I synced it. I guess that's not possible? Seems strange, if I have the Iphone apps selected, but I guess it only deletes from the itunes media folder even if you do tell it to move to recycle bin. Odd, and frustrating. Ok, I guess it's just a lot of going through the iphone and deleting apps. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Dave -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of M. Taylor Sent: 07/25/2015 01:33 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes Hello Dave, I am so sorry that you are having this experience. Adjusting sounds separately a voiceover?
Hi, Is there a way to change the sound of volume without changing the volume of voice over? For instance, the sound that it makes when you are dictating, right now, is very low. However, my boys over volume is rather loud. There are times when I would like to make the sounds louder, but voiceover a little quieter. Can this be done? If so, where do I go to change the sound volume settings. Thank you, Dacia Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. IOS 8.4 on 5th gen ipod touch
I just got around to updating my fifth generation ipod touch to IOS 8.4. And now I have a major problem. The most significant problem I have found thus far is that I am no longer able to move between pages by swiping up and down on the iPod screen. Nor can I do so using the Amazon Basics blue tooth keyboard. When updating an app, I noted that I was not able to double tap the update button. I ultimately got around this by rebooting. However, my inability to switch between my four pages of apps is unchanged. What is interesting is that when on page one, if I double tapped the page number rather than swiped, it would ascend to the next page. However, when I got to the last page which is page four on this iPod, it stuck at page 4. I could however get back to page one by using Siri to open an app such as messages on page 1. Also, rebooting took me back to page 1. I am truly at a loss as to what to do now because this problem renders the device virtually useless. Ideas please! Thanks.
Hello Dave, Ah, now I understand your objective. In short, here is how it works. I'm keeping in mind that your ultimate objective is to both remove the app from your phone and from your iTunes Library. There are two ways of accomplishing this but regardless of which method you use, remember that if the app exist on your phone, unless you change a setting in iTunes on your PC, the phone's list of apps will always take precedence when next connected to your PC. Therefore, if, while the phone is not connected to your PC, you delete an app from your PC's iTunes Library, yet the app exist on your phone, attaching the phone to your PC will simply copy the app from the phone back to the PC giving you the mistaken impression that you were unsuccessful in deleting the app from your PC, in the first place. So, if you want to both remove an app from your iTunes Library and also delete it from your phone in one session, so-to-speak, I suggest the following sequence: 1. Before connecting your phone to the PC, reboot both devices. 2. Connect the phone to your PC and open iTunes on your PC. 3. From within iTunes on your PC, select the iPhone and then go into its list of apps. Select the apps, one-by-one, that you wish to remove from your phone. After you have selected all of the apps you wish to remove from the phone, sync the device by clicking on the Apply button. You will need to confirm your selection. AT this point, the apps will have been removed from the phone but are still in your iTunes Library. 4. Disconnect the phone from your PC. 5. While still in iTunes on your PC, locate the list of apps and delete the unwanted apps using the method of your choice. At this point, the apps will have been removed from both your device and from your iTunes Library. The next time you connect your phone, and subsequently sync it, the apps will not return. One more thing, you cannot remove your purchase history from your Apple ID. This is of no real consequence given your current objective. Mark -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Dave Bahr Sent: Saturday, July 25, 2015 8:58 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes Apologies, Mark, I should have clarified. Taylor Sent: 07/25/2015 01:33 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: apps not deleting from iphone using itunes Hello Dave, I am so sorry that you are having this experience. Thanks. Messages not scrolling under 8.4
Hi all, are any of you having an issue where by in the default messages app, if you know that there are more than one message in the conversation with someone, VoiceOver isn't scrolling the messages backwards through the conversation? I don't know of any work around at all. Its quite an annoying bug actually. -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. Re: A Definitely Good Audio Book Alternative
No. It does not work very well, or at all, with voiceover. I cannot swipe right or left, and none of the buttons seem to work. Re: Messages not scrolling under 8.4
I just tried this on my iPhone 5s ios 8.4 and the 3 finger swipe downwards does work to move back through the previous bits of conversation.
