RE: Syncing from PC to iPhone

Hi Isaac,

Just FYI, your instructions are correct except for the step with what you call
the “apps table”. In the latest version of iTunes that listview of apps which
one could easily navigate and check or uncheck apps is no longer accessible.

First plug in the iPhone.

Next in iTunes tab to the iPhone button and then press space. Next tab to the
treview and then use the up or down arrow keys to find apps. Next tab to the
apps table and then use the up or down arrow keys to find the app you want and
then press space.

Then tab to the apply button and then press space.

Hi. I don't know if you said this but are you connected to wifi when you try
to download the voice? The voice won't continue downloading unless you're

Subject: Re: Apple Tv

You may or may not be able to reduce your cable subscription to cable. The
problem is that in order to receive several of the channels offered on the
Apple TV one must be able to get those channels presently on their cable.
Suggest you think about getting an app called Sling TV for your phone, see
information below.

below...
Imagine everything you liked about cable. You probably enjoyed surfing the
channels, watching the shows people were talking about when they aired
instead of months after. And, if you were lucky enough to own boxes of a
certain caliber, pausing and rewinding said TV shows in real time.
Now, imagine everything you hated: the costly bill at the end of the month,
the bulky, expensive equipment that marred the side of your house and
entertainment center. Not to mention the service contract that never seemed
to end.
But what if you could get everything you loved about TV without any of those
gripes?

That, in a nutshell, is Sling TV.
It's live TV streaming whenever and wherever. No contracts, no equipment and
no costly statement.
Sling TV? Is it the same thing as a Slingbox? While there are some concepts
borrowed from Slingbox, Sling TV is in a different league when it comes to
cutting the cord.
Sling TV is a US-only service offered from DISH that allows you to watch the
channels you'd typically find on basic cable for $20 a month without a
contract, subscription to DISH or any pesky cable equipment on your roof or
in your living room.
What devices can I use to watch it?Create an account on DISH's website and
use that info to login to the app on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV and Amazon
Fire TV Stick, Google's Nexus Player, Xbox One and Roku TV. The service will
also work on select LG and Samsung smart TVs, and on Macs and PCs via a
website portal. The service is expected to come to Google Chromecastlater
this year.

The system is more eloquent than apps like TWC TV or Xfinity, and while the
latter is almost universally available, trying to remember whose name and
email you use to login can ruin a session before it even starts.
What channels are included? So far, channels on the basic, $20-per-month plan
include ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Travel
Channel, CNN, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney Channel, AMC, IFC and,
most recently, A&E, History, H2, Lifetime, Bloomberg and most recently,

Polaris+.
The biggest change to this roster is HBO. Starting April 12 for the premiere
of the new season of Game of Thrones, Sling TV will offer live HBO for $15 a
month to current "Best of Live TV" subscribers. Also new is the addition of
DishWorld multi-lingual content to Sling TV.
In addition to the base subscription, seven add-on packages are available
for $5 apiece each month:
a.. Kids Extra, with Disney Jr, Disney XD, Boomerang, Duck TV, and Baby
TV.
b.. Sports Extra, which includes the SEC Network, ESPNEWS, ESPNU,
Universal Sports, Univision Deportes, beIN Sports, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN
Bases Loaded and ESPN Goal Line.
c.. Lifestyle extra, with Cooking Channel, DIY, truTV, WE tv, FYI, and
LMN.
d.. Hollywood Extra, which includes live and video-on-demand content from
EPIX, EPIX2, EPIX3, EPIX Drive-In, Sundance TV and Turner Classic Movies

(TCM)
e.. World News Extra, with HLN, News 18 India, Euronews, NDTV 24x7,
France24 and RT.
f.. Deportes Extra includes Azteca, beIN Español, beIN HD (English),
Univison, Univision Deportes and UniMás.
g.. Películas & Novelas Extra includes Azteca Corazon, Cinelatino, De
Película, De Película Clasico, Pasiones, Univision tlnovelas, Univision and
UniMás.
FunctionalityNow, remember when you asked about Slingbox? Well, it's true,
Sling TV and Slingbox share a few similarities beyond the first syllable.
Sling TV allows you to pause, rewind and fast-forward live TV on some
channels (note the word "some" there), and the ability to watch shows a few
days after they've aired.

Also similar to Slingbox, Sling TV lets you watch its service on most mobile
devices anywhere in the world. That is, as long as you can establish and
maintain a bitrate of about 1.5 Mbps for high-quality streams, 0.8Mbps for
medium resolution, and 0.5 Mbps for low-quality.
Sling TV on Roku TechRadar was given two platforms to test Sling TV. One was
Roku (specifically on a Roku 3) and the other was iOS, which we'll get to in
a minute.
By and large, the experience on Roku was everything I've come to love

Re: Apple Tv

2015-08-18 Thread Laury-Johnson, Shawnese (LARA)
The problem with sling is that if I am watching a channel offered through this
service on one television another individual in my home could not watch a
different channel at the same time. According to them this is something that
they are working on to improve or change.

If you create a new playlist, can you select songs and edit the playlist with
the keyboard shortcuts of control-c and control-x? This is the functionality I
lost when I installed 12.2.1 and Apple verified that this was removed in this
version.

You probably enjoyed surfing the
channels, watching the shows people were talking about when they aired instead
of months after. And, if you were lucky enough to own boxes of a certain
caliber, pausing and rewinding said TV shows in real time.
Now, imagine everything you hated: the costly bill at the end of the month, the
bulky, expensive equipment that marred the side of your house and entertainment
center. Not to mention the service contract that never seemed to end.
But what if you could get everything you loved about TV without any of those
gripes?
That, in a nutshell, is Sling TV.
It's live TV streaming whenever and wherever. No contracts, no equipment and no
costly statement.
Sling TV? Is it the same thing as a Slingbox? While there are some concepts
borrowed from Slingbox, Sling TV is in a different league when it comes to
cutting the cord.
Sling TV is a US-only service offered from DISH that allows you to watch the
channels you'd typically find on basic cable for $20 a month without a
contract, subscription to DISH or any pesky cable equipment on your roof or in
your living room.
What devices can I use to watch it?Create an account on DISH's website and use
that info to login to the app on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Fire
TV Stick, Google's Nexus Player, Xbox One and Roku TV. The service will also
work on select LG and Samsung smart TVs, and on Macs and PCs via a website
portal. The service is expected to come to Google Chromecastlater this year.

The system is more eloquent than apps like TWC TV or Xfinity, and while the
latter is almost universally available, trying to remember whose name and email
you use to login can ruin a session before it even starts.
What channels are included? So far, channels on the basic, $20-per-month plan
include ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Travel Channel,
CNN, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney Channel, AMC, IFC and, most recently,
A&E, History, H2, Lifetime, Bloomberg and most recently,
Polaris+.
The biggest change to this roster is HBO. Starting April 12 for the premiere of
the new season of Game of Thrones, Sling TV will offer live HBO for $15 a month
to current "Best of Live TV" subscribers. Also new is the addition of DishWorld
multi-lingual content to Sling TV.
In addition to the base subscription, seven add-on packages are available for
$5 apiece each month:
a.. Kids Extra, with Disney Jr, Disney XD, Boomerang, Duck TV, and Baby TV.
b.. Sports Extra, which includes the SEC Network, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, Universal
Sports, Univision Deportes, beIN Sports, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Bases Loaded
and ESPN Goal Line.
c.. Lifestyle extra, with Cooking Channel, DIY, truTV, WE tv, FYI, and LMN.
d.. Hollywood Extra, which includes live and video-on-demand content from
EPIX, EPIX2, EPIX3, EPIX Drive-In, Sundance TV and Turner Classic Movies
(TCM)
e.. World News Extra, with HLN, News 18 India, Euronews, NDTV 24x7,
France24 and RT.
f.. Deportes Extra includes Azteca, beIN Español, beIN HD (English),
Univison, Univision Deportes and UniMás.
g.. Películas & Novelas Extra includes Azteca Corazon, Cinelatino, De
Película, De Película Clasico, Pasiones, Univision tlnovelas, Univision and
UniMás.
FunctionalityNow, remember when you asked about Slingbox? Well, it's true,
Sling TV and Slingbox share a few similarities beyond the first syllable.
Sling TV allows you to pause, rewind and fast-forward live TV on some channels
(note the word "some" there), and the ability to watch shows a few days after
they've aired.

One was
Roku (specifically on a Roku 3) and the other was iOS, which we'll get to in a
minute.
By and large, the experience on Roku was everything I've come to love about a
cable box: simple functionality, clean layout and crisp picture.
Installing the app was as easy as going to Roku channel store, finding the
Sling TV app and pushing it to my Roku 3.

Apple music question with iPhone and new Nano.

2015-08-18 Thread Matthew Bullis
OK, so since I've been getting into the Apple Music thing in a big way in the
last month, and since they also announced the new Nano, I now have some
questions. My iPhone is full with Bard books and Audible content, and so I have
to stream my Apple music library. I never used iTunes for music before, so I'm
starting fresh with content. My big question is if I get one of the new iPod
Nanos, will it have the ability to run the latest itteration of the music app
so I can get the Apple music features? Also, if I go through and make albums
available for offline listening, will the Apple Music service then attempt to
download this music to my iPhone, on which there is really no room? I know that
the Nano is the really small device, about one inch wide, and that it has only
specific apps on it, music being the main one. Therefore, Bard books and
Audible would stay on my iPhone. I believe I'm limited with what the Nano comes
with, and can't alter it in any way. Finally, while I can look this up while
doing my research, what are the new models again, and the prices? Perhaps
there's a page with this info that I cruised by when the announcement was made.
Thanks,
Matthew

Hi. I don't know if you said this but are you connected to wifi when you try to
download the voice? The voice won't continue downloading unless you're

Re: New Trivia Game

2015-08-18 Thread Richard Turner

I contacted them through the website.
If you want to email them and not just read all the FAQs, you will have to go
through a captia, but it is the first audio captia I've run into that is very
clear and easy to hear.
They replied in about 6 hours, pretty good.
I mentioned the issue Shawn brought up, and they said they would look into it,
but these things go better if more people give them good feedback.

Re: Question about braille displays and compatibility with iPhone six

2015-08-18 Thread hebertisaac99
I did a test with iOS using the braille edge yesterday and here are the some of
the pros and cons.
The edge allows you to either use it iOS or you can use the take notes with
the edge it self.
How ever when using with iOS when typing notes with the edge iOS doesn't
announce each character when typing. It also has bluetooth and usb
capability.
Now I don't know all the pros and cons but that should do for a start.

How ever here is a link to more info about the braille edge.

Re: problem with voiceover not saying words right

2015-08-18 Thread dacia . luck
Hi, I found that it worked for me. When I use the rotor to go to punctuation,
then I swiped down, with one finger up, actually I flipped down. Then I double
tap on the option for some. Then I went in and I wrote an email including words
with an apostrophe, and it worked. It is nice that I don't have to worry about
it mispronouncing words anymore it used to drive me crazy and now it won't do
that.

Re: Disappearing audiobooks in the audible app

2015-08-18 Thread Mary Otten
Thanks, Craig, for the number of the last stable version. However, since I
never update using iTunes anymore, I don't guess that will do me any good. That
brings up my other pet peeve, about Apple not letting us roll back within the
phone or the iPad. Given the sloppy programming that's going on with big
companies like audible/Amazon, this seems like it would be a very very useful
thing to have.

Re: Disappearing audiobooks in the audible app

2015-08-18 Thread Mary Otten
Hi C card,
I haven't found any luck with closing audible and then coming back in. And
refreshes don't always work, that is just one. Sometimes it takes too. And
sometimes it's the refresh button in the app, and sometimes it's the one under
the settings button, even though that is supposed to be for your library, and
not your device. I have seen the problem with both books in my library
disappearing and books on the devicedisappearing temporarily.
I remember seeing that note about the disappearance problem, but I had not been
having it until I updated. So naturally, stupidly, I assumed that, since I
wasn't having the problem, the update would not introduce it. However, it did
so in spades. I think I will call their tech support and complain, if for no
other reason than to let them know that there is yet one more person out there
experiencing this ridiculous annoying issue. I wonder if Amazon taking them
over has adversely affected their ability to program well. I know that is just
plain snarky, but I'm so disgusted with Amazon, that it wouldn't surprise me. I
still have an old iPad one with audible. It works great. The iPad is very slow,
and it is also almost full, but it works wonderfully well. Something to be said
for old stable programs.

Hi Laury,

I don't think you'll regret waiting to see what Apple has in store for us
regarding the Apple TV. I have a second gen Apple TV and even though Youtube
has been gone from it for several months I decided to wait for the fourth gen
Apple TV which I will definitely want to get.
As far as saving a lot, this may be a bit further away since I also heard that
Apple is still making deals with content providers and many subscription based
channels may not be available until 2016. Anyhow, once the official
announcement comes we'll find out all of these detiails.

Nobody knows which if any of the new features will be supported by the third
generation Apple TV. It is likely that one of the big features will be an app
store for the Apple TV which allows you to install apps which third party
developers will make. These could be anything from games to apps from
organisations like CNN or BBC to apps from music services like Spotify, Deezer
and so on. This will hugely enhance the functionality and usefulness of the
Apple TV since it of course is logical that you may want to play content from a
music service or news organization via your TV or sound system the Apple TV is
attached to. Of course the app store may be supported by the third gen Apple
TV, but nobody can say for sure.
Another expected enhancement to the Apple TV is SIRI integration and control.
My guess is that you will be able to talk to the Apple TV via the remote and
tell it to open a certain app or play something etc. I highly doubt that the
third gen Apple TV which is already 3-year old hardware will be able to support
this.
Next is the upcoming offering of a subscription based TV service. Once again,
maybe this will be supported or maybe not.
One should keep in mind that while the second gen Apple TV still can play
Netflix and a bunch of the existing channels, it does not even have Youtube
support any more. This quietly disappeared a few months ago.
Lastly there is the expected integration and support of many connected home
automation devices like thermostats, lights, locks and so on. You may not have
these now, but such devices will be the norm rather than the exception in the
coming years.

I think in general that it is simply a bad idea to rush out and buy an Apple TV
now even though it may only be $50 especially because we already know from
rumours that a new Apple TV maybe announced as soon as September 9. That is
only 3 weeks away and within another week or so we probably know for sure if
Apple is sending out invites for a September 9 event or if it will be held a
week later. Why not wait these few weeks and see what happens, if no Apple TV
is forthcoming you can still spend your $50 in 3 weeks, but what you can
currently do with the Apple TV will not replace your existing cable
subscription.
I would give the same advice to somebody who wants to buy a new iPhone although
that is a bit different because iPhones are updated annually whereas the last
Apple TV update was 3 years ago. It is my guess that while a new Apple TV will
probably cost more than $50, it will not be hundreds of Dollars simply because
it is in Apple's interest to keep the price low so people get it and then
subscribe to channels, consume paid iTunes content or buy apps from the new
Apple TV app store which of course will generate a new source of income for
Apple.

Best regards,
Sieghard

RE: transfering documents

2015-08-18 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Martin,

All models of the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad are iOS devices hence iOS is the
only operating system which will work; you can't install Windows on an iOS
device the same way as you can on a Mac.

As far as having Word documents on your iPod Touch, the short answer is Yes.
You can achieve this in a number of ways. The easiest would be to install the
Dropbox or OneDrive app on your iPod Touch as well as on your computer and to
have the documents in a Dropbox or OneDrive folder. They would then show up on
your iPod Touch and you can open and read them. If you want to also edit them
you would have to install the Microsoft Word app from the App Store. I am not
completely up-to-date on all the details regarding accessibility and what you
can do, but I believe Microsoft has made Word quite accessible and I also think
you no longer need an Office 365 subscription for many of the editing
functions. You can probably get most of that information from the app
description of the Word app and of course find a lot more by Googling "Word for
iOS".

If you are not a Dropbox and/or OneDrive user, you can also get all the basic
information by doing a Google search about these services. Keep in mind that if
you want to use Word on your iPod Touch it's probably better to use OneDrive
since it is from Microsoft and integrates better.

Sieghard

RE: Disappearing audiobooks in the audible app

2015-08-18 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Mary,

For me this issue has mostly gone away, but sometimes it still happens as well
and in my case a Refresh will not help. I can usually get things back to normal
by closing the app in the app switcher and reopening it again, but it does seem
to happen a lot less often than before. Having said that, Audible does say
something about this in their "What's New" notes from the last update and I
believe they said something that if users have been experiencing this before
that this last update does still not fix it. As Craig pointed out, the app has
pathetic reviews right now and I am tempted to complain so much and ask for

Subject: Disappearing audiobooks in the audible app

With the most recent update of the audible app, I am seeing books come and go.
These are on my device or in the cloud. It's most frustrating, and I cannot
manage to get them all back To stay. They always come back with a refresh, but
should I continuously have to refresh even after I just close the player and
want to go back to the book I was just reading? Is anyone else having this
problem and how to fix it?

Problem downloading u.k. english voice on a 4S

2015-08-18 Thread Jan Kleinhans
Hi

I had to restore my 4S and updated the software to 8.4.1, then restoring from a
prior backup. Now, I like to use the u.k. enhanced voice, but after the
restore I have some problems with this. The voice does not sound the same, and
when I look at the settings, I hear that 68 mb of 156 mb has been downloaded.
No matter what I do, I can not get the download to continue, and I have no idea
if there is a way one could remove the voice and somehow restart the download
again. It seems as if the phone is now stuck in this mode. I really need to
get a new phone, as this one is old, but finance is a problem right now. To
make it even more difficult, my lock/sleep button does not function properly,
it seems the little spring has gone, so I can not really switch the phone off
and on, to try and reset it in that way, and the only way to reset it now seems
to be via itunes and a restore option. Any help on what I could do would be
appreciated. Where I live there is no apple store, and in the end the phone
will have to be sent somewhere to have the button repaired at least.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Caution: Apple Tech Says Audible App Has Slightly Damaged my iOS Installation

2015-08-18 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Craig,

You wrote in your original post that the rep suggested removing the app or apps
in question may fix the issue which it appears is poor battery life. If this is
so I fail to see how installing these apps “damaged” th iOS installation. First
of all the sandbox approach Apple takes probably prevents an app from actually
“damaging” iOS itself. Secondly, if removing the app fixes the issue then iOS
can’t be damaged since deleting an app from your phone does not result in any
sort of restore to a prvious state in iOS. I think maybe this was simply a poor
choice of words from the rep. As Paul said, all Apple technical reps are not
the same and maybe he just meant to say that the current version of Audible
results in more power consumption. This last issue I think I can confirm. I use
Audible quite a lot and it seems that since this last update I am constantly
running low on battery and actually ran my phone down to where it shut off by
itself a few times which usually doesn’t happen before. I am going to take a
closer look at the battery usage statistics, but I think the current version of
Audible has done something to the battery life in addition to occasionally
causing the 2-finger double tap not to work. The same, by the way, applies to
when you use the remote on the Apple Earpods. Quite often since the last update
I want to stop my book by pressing the pause button on the remote and instead
of stopping the book that is playing it starts playing music. I hope a lot of
Audible users here call them or email them because the entire series of 2.5.x
updates are simply sucks.

Yes, John, I am now agreeing with you and Paul. When a customer has a battery
evaluation, the tech is looking at the number of relatively full charges over a
specific period of time and can see which apps are using the most power. I
fail to see how this data can be used to form a schematic, so to speak, of the
overall health of the OS.

I tend to agree with Paul. I doubt the tech has the ability to do this. I think
that Audible may just be using a lot of battery power.

I recently brought my 2.5-year-old iPhone 5 into my local Apple store for a

that two apps, one of which was the Audible app, had slightly damaged the iOS
installation. He could repair the OS, he said, but repair, although free,
would take along time. He didn't think the damage was significant and urged
that I not have it undertaken, suggesting rather that I un-install the
offending apps and re-install them to see if I noticed a difference in battery

Since the advice came from an Apple technician, I thought it important to post

since I think it is most likely the guilty culprit.

It is my guess that while a new Apple TV will
probably cost more than $50, it will not be hundreds of Dollars simply because
it is in Apple's interest to keep the price low so people get it and then
subscribe to channels, consume paid iTunes content or buy apps from the new
Apple TV app store which of course will generate a new source of income for
Apple.

You're right that people running iOS betas can't write reviews. However, you
can still go to the developer's website and contact them directly. This is
probably a better way to bring up accessibility issues than through reviews
anyway, since it's private communication with the dev. To get the contact
information, check out the Information section at the bottom of an app's page.
It should include the developer's website.

Best,
Anna

RE: Disappearing audiobooks in the audible app

2015-08-18 Thread Alan Lemly
Craig,

Thanks for yours and others' posts about Audible and its problems with
recent versions. I admit I've been updating the app all along but haven't
been using it as of late since I've mostly been reading BARD books. Now that
you've provided a reliable version number, I uninstalled the most recent
Audible version from my iPhone 6 and reinstalled version 2.42. I'll sit
tight with it until we hear consistent positive comments about a later
version.

Hello, Mary.

I'm sorry to tell you I have given up using any version of Audible later
than Version 2.4.2. The latest roll-outs have been too unsable. The current
ersion carries a scandalously low average rating of 2 stars. Audible's
apology for customer troubles, found in the description of the app, is
pathetic. I will shortly be posting a message about the possibly that
unstable apps such as Audible might even damage a user's installation of the
OS.

If you create a new playlist, can you select songs and edit the playlist with
the keyboard shortcuts of control-c and control-x? This is the functionality I
lost when I installed 12.2.1 and Apple verified that this was removed in this

Re: Caution: Apple Tech Says Audible App Has Slightly Damaged my iOS Installation

2015-08-18 Thread Craig Werner
Yes, John, I am now agreeing with you and Paul. When a customer has a
battery evaluation, the tech is looking at the number of relatively full
charges over a specific period of time and can see which apps are using the
most power. I fail to see how this data can be used to form a schematic,
so to speak, of the overall health of the OS.

If you have the extra money why wait for the new Apple TV which we do not know
when it will be coming, you can buy an Apple TV on Amazon currently for $50,
totally worth it. And on another note you do not need a TV to connect it to if
you have a receiver or Sound Bar as I hooked mine up without a TV via optical
cable $5 bucks for the cable on Amazon. Good luck.

Re: Caution: Apple Tech Says Audible App Has Slightly Damaged my iOS Installation

2015-08-18 Thread Brent Harding
I imagine that they have to back up and restore it to a reset install, similar
to what we would have to do. I'd imagine they have a few more things they can
do that we can't on our own, but I doubt they have the same level of
reparability to the internal damaged files that you might on a Mac or PC.

I tend to agree with Paul. I doubt the tech has the ability to do this. I
think that Audible may just be using a lot of battery power.

Re: Caution: Apple Tech Says Audible App Has Slightly Damaged my iOS Installation

2015-08-18 Thread Brent Harding
I wonder what is likely causing more apps to crash with VO lately? I have an
iPhone 6 from Sprint. It could be a coincidence that several apps are written
such that VO crashes them, but I hope there isn't some kind of hardware reason
at play. I do have Apple Care on it, so they could ship me a different one
while mine goes in, since I am a far enough Uber ride round trip to almost buy
a 16 gig, as far as my distance to the nearest Apple Store. As far as taking
the ship it in option, how does that likely affect Sprint's leasing program? I
know these programs typically want the same phone back that I leased from them,
but Apple doesn't always return the same one repaired if they found a defect.

Re: Caution: Apple Tech Says Audible App Has Slightly Damaged my iOS Installation

2015-08-18 Thread Paul Hunt
Hello everyone. All technicians are not created equal. I once had a seri issue
after resetting my iPhone to its default settings. A technician told me to
restore my iPhone. I later discovered that I had to enable seri. It's probably
unlikely that an app will damage an installation. You could get a second
opinion, live with the issue or reinstall IOS.

Caution: Apple Tech Says Audible App Has Slightly Damaged my iOS Installation

2015-08-18 Thread Craig Werner
Hello, everyone.

I recently brought my 2.5-year-old iPhone 5 into my local Apple store for a
battery check. It passed well, but the technician who did the work-up told
me that two apps, one of which was the Audible app, had slightly damaged
the iOS installation. He could repair the OS, he said, but repair,
although free, would take along time. He didn't think the damage was
significant and urged that I not have it undertaken, suggesting rather that
I un-install the offending apps and re-install them to see if I noticed a
difference in battery life. I was surprised to learn that an app could
damage an iOS installation. Since the advice came from an Apple
technician, I thought it important to post here. Has anyone on the list
ever received such a warning or heard of this possibility? I have
un-installed the 2.5x version of Audible I have been using since I think it
is most likely the guilty culprit.

Craig

Hi all the iPhone 5s it's good isn't it? I even have Touch ID set up and

purchasing from the iTunes or App Stores yet but am confident that will work
too. I also have my favourite Alex voice. Personally, I like the sound of him
on the 5s. I also like the overall volume it can get very loud can't it? I can
hear it with clarity at just 50% volume.

Re: Disappearing audiobooks in the audible app

2015-08-18 Thread Craig Werner
Hello, Mary.

I'm sorry to tell you I have given up using any version of Audible later
than Version 2.4.2. The latest roll-outs have been too unsable. The current
ersion carries a scandalously low average rating of 2 stars. Audible's
apology for customer troubles, found in the description of the app, is
pathetic. I will shortly be posting a message about the possibly that
unstable apps such as Audible might even damage a user's installation of
the OS.

Settings/general/accessibility/voiceover, rotor. select Punctuation to appear

Then, crank round the rotor to punctuation, and you flick up and down to adjust.
