Yes. iOS 9.2 fixed a lot of buggy issues I was having with my Voyager Edge. Do
the upgrade if you haven’t already.

Subject: Siri and Plantronics

Hi,

I received my Gold 128 GB iPhone six S+ on December 30th and I am still working
out the things I like and the things I don’t like about my new phone. Just now
I tried using my Plantronics Edge and discovered that I was unable to cause
Siri to come through the Bluetooth ear piece although all other sounds were
coming through just fine. Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon with
Bluetooth on the 6S or 6S+ with Bluetooth ear or headphones and is there a
workaround? I don’t even use Siri as a rule but now that I know about this
little quirk it annoys me.

So far moving from a 32 GB 5S to a 128 GB 6S+ has been interesting. I haven’t
decided yet if it has been positive, smile! Expensive, traumatic, and dramatic.
But positive is still a work in progress.

RE: bluetooth weirdness with my apple watch

2016-01-01 Thread Simon Fogarty
Yeah absolutely
My plantronix bt headset pairs with both the phone and the watch, as does my
bose headset which is full headphones both Bluetooth and wired if need be.

Its great to anser the phone from the watch therefore not having to bring the
phone out of my my pocket.

Does your Bluetooth ear peace support 2 devices at the same time? I have both
my iPhone 5s and my iWatch both paired to the Legend. Oddly enough when my 5s
is connected, the Voyager Legend says phone 1 paired. Now when my iWatch is
paired, the Legend says phone 2 connected. I never would have thought of
pairing my iWatch with my Bluetooth ear peace but my wife told me of the
doctors at work paired his iWatch so he wouldn't have to keep looking at the
scream on his watch. I tried pairing my watch and now love using both my watch
and iPhone on the same ear peace.

Outlook App, Yahoo, and att.net

2016-01-01 Thread Merv Keck
Hi,

I wanted to share an experience in case someone might find it helpful. Years
ago when I received my first iPhone, the 3GS, I was offered a free email
address from AT&T with the address ending in att.net so I gleefully
accepted it. I have always just used it sparingly and always in the native
mail app. Now four iPhones later, on my 128 GB 6S+ I decided to try setting
my att.net address up in my outlook app since I have Outlook 2016 on two
machines and also the Outlook app on my phone. However, I had no idea how to
begin setting it up since it had been years since I had thought about any of
the settings.

Well it just so happened that tonight I was talking to an AT&T rep on an
unrelated matter and I asked him about this and he looked it up. He even had
to consult several other people and he told me to use the Yahoo preset in
Outlook. I should have thought of that since on the computer they are both
merged now. I did wonder about it briefly but didn't bother to try it.

I'm relating this for several reasons. First, when setting up the att.net
address it asked me to solve a Captia. I want to say that I was very
impressed with my iPhone six S+ speaker. I chose the audio Captia and solved
it the first time through. This is with Yahoo. So you know how incredible
that was. Second, while Outlook does all the work for you once you provide
your email address and password and solve the Captia, it might not work the
first time. For me, it asked me to use something called Legacy and when I
selected Legacy all of my att.net email just appeared instantly in my
Outlook app.

This is not to start a debate over whether the native mail or Outlook ap
should be used but to provide helpful information for anyone wishing to set
up AT&T or Yahoo email in Outlook on their iPhone.

Hope that helps.

Merv

2016-01-01 Thread Jim Ruby
Hi, over Christmas and newyears my family were texting one another in a group.
When I would reply to the message I always got the message message send failure

Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this? I can send and receive messages

Hi!
i didn't try Siri but similar thing happens with WhatsApp. When I
play audio messages they are coming through phone speaker instead of
BT headset.
I also have Plantronics headset but I heard the same is happening

To a certain extent, you get what you pay for. You may sacrifice things like
solid coverage, data limits, and coverage outside the country to save money.
you should check out T Mobile, or Straight Talk through Wal-mart.

Any help would be very appreciated.

You should go back into the notifications area in the Settings app and see if
the option to show notifications on lock screen is on.

Re: bluetooth weirdness with my apple watch

2016-01-01 Thread Alan Paganelli

This is not an Iphone ap. It's only a PC ap. It's also not a screen reader.
It's a search tool. But it has absolutely nothing to do with the Iphone.

Can we clarify which app we're talking about? the Windows one I read about was
a search tool, which would be useful if it had been
made very accessible.

I've not found one for iOs as originally describe.

I think the Mint app should do what you want. I heard it was accessible, but
this was a while back. I haven't heard anything about inaccessibility, or
accessibility problems, but I think it's free to use for a certain amount of
time, so it might be worth checking out.

Also, in the apps them selves, again under settings, opening the app, and make

You may have to update the Apple mobile device USB driver. I can't remember
exactly how to do this, but I can dig up an article for you later.

Only if there is some kind of color contrast between the engraving and the
surrounding surface.
The only way to find out is to try it since it will also depend on the font
used in the engraving on your particular piece.

Mitch, I have had this problem. Even though I would go to the notification
center and all was well, I just wasn't getting them. Try this. Open each
individual app that you wish to receive notifications from. It's possible that
voice over will say, this app would like to send you push notifications. Then
double tap on allow. Try that and let me know if it works.

It provides a screen reader and calculator. I am wondering if this screen

You should be able to see the iPhone like a usb stick only the photos and
videos you take will be accessible that way.
Try rebooting the computer while the iPhone is plugged in. A popup should
appear on your iPhone asking if you want to trust this computer. Make sure you
double tap on trust this computer.
But, to do anything beyond copying pictures, you will need to install iTunes.

Willing to try?

2016-01-01 Thread Verlyn Baldwin
HI,

For those you are experienced IPhone users, would someone be willing to try
Qseek by Accessible Apps?

It provides a screen reader and calculator. I am wondering if this screen
reader works very well. This app is offering a 7 day free trial.

I found the info. On Flying Blind.

Re: Answering a telephone call while you are already talking to another caller on your iphone

2016-01-01 Thread Bill Gallik
To answer your questions Sieghard; I’m using a 128 Gb iPhone 6 with iOS 9.2
installed. I should that I never installed iOS 9.0 nor 9.1 because I was
burned so badly with the iOS 8 fiasco — Apple should realize that trust is a
very precious disposition and needs to be consistently earned!

The phenomenon of VoiceOver locking up happens whether I answer or initiate a
phone call. Typically, I find myself using the HOME button sequence to disable
VO and then re-instate VO.

Good morning all,
I'm trying to connect my iPhone 6 to my windows seven 64-bit PC. When I hook
up the cable between the two, the iPhone is not being seen. I went into my
computer, from the desktop, and I can't find it that way, or in the control
panel. Can somebody give me a tip on how to make it see the iPhone? Jim

Happy New Year from down under list. I went to get the KNFB reader
today for the discounted price. However, it was showing as costing
$119.99. I thought it was only meant to be $75 until January 4? I
don't think the exchange rate would explain that difference. Or is the
discount only for within the US?
Thanks Jason
