Christina,
You completely reflect my own findings with fLexi. if, through the settings, I
could configure the app to work the way the original one did, I would be happy.
But I haven't managed this yet.
Good luck to you, Sandy

Re: Problems with Fleksy number/symbols layout

2016-01-22 Thread 'Sandratomkins' via VIPhone
Alan,
The whole beauty of the original set up for this app was that it was completely
simple to use. I think, it would be easy for the developers to give us a
minimal keyboard which is truly a minimal keyboard. i was use to feel free to
tap my word patterns and not worry about hitting keys which will corrupt my
input. this functionality has gone! if they won't give me back my simple
interface, I, personally, Am not interested in this app. however, I feel they
can and should do this. I was one of the original purchasers of the app, I
think it cost about €15 at the time. I have to say now that I feel quite
cheated of my original purchase. The onus shouldn't be on me to jump through
hoops to learn to use something which was absolutely intuitive. I don't mind at
all all the bells and whistles being available, I mainly want the option for
the original simple interface. if anyone here is working with the developers,
could they ask them if this would be possible?that would make me a happy
fLeksy user!

Also, check your normal battery saving settings, such as display
brightness, bluetooth on/off and so on. I haven't noticed any increase
in battery drain, and I didn't notice that any of these settings have
been changed, but I've seen bluetooth come on and the screen brightness
get changed to auto after earlier updates.

Christina,

It sounds like you might be discussing issues with both the Fleksy spacebar
and minimal keyboards so I'll do my best to interpret correctly.

With the Fleksy spacebar keyboard active. the bottommost row has these keys
from left to right, the numbers key which a touch will switch to the numbers
keyboard, the Fleksy magic button pictured with a globe which allows you to
switch keyboards with a touch or does something else with a touch depending
on your settings, a long spacebar which takes up most of the screen space, a
period key which inserts a period with a touch, and the return or enter key
which enters a new line with a touch. If you touch and hold the magic
button, the period, or the return keys, either additional options or an
alternative action will occur depending on the key pressed and held as
follows: the magic button will offer switch keyboard, insert a comma, switch
to emoji keyboard, dismiss keyboard, or turn autocorrect off if you press
and hold it and slide your finger up and across and release on the option
you want; the period which is immediately to the right of the spacebar will
offer 4 or 5 additional punctuation options if pressed and held followed by
a finger slide and release as previously described; and the return or enter
key when held even a bit longer than a quick touch will bring up the emoji
keyboard. I suspect you are holding your finger down on the return button a
bit too long which is causing the emoji keyboard to appear when you really
wanted to insert a new line.

I'll admit that the gestures to move between numbers, symbols, and letters
through a single finger swipe right on the shift key while using the minimal
Fleksy keyboard is more than a little inconsistent. I find that a quick,
snap sort of right swipe seems to work the best but s I say, it is
inconsistent and you'll just have to develop a methodology that works for
you.

HTH,

Alan Lemly

I'm glad you are having better success this time. I can get around better
this time but I still can't type out a complete sentence. LOL! I keep having
to delete and then I delete and 30 minutes later, I give up and use
dictation.

Anyways, My key to switch from Emoji back to letters works. The only thing I
can think of is to clear your app switcher and turn your phone off for a bit
and then restart it. Alternatively you could try turning voice over off and
then back on again to see if the button will work. BTW, I also, keep
activating the emoji keyboard with the return key. I thought it was supposed
to be some kind of swipe but it does not seem to matter, the slightest touch
seems to switch me over to emoji. Alternatively, when I try to use the shift
key in minimal mode to switch to numbers/symbols I can't seem to make it
happen by swiping on shift key. ha ha, I just can't consistently make the
switch from letters to numbers and back again with the shift key while in
minimal keyboard. I haven't given up yet though. If I had never used the
original stand alone Fleksy keyboard and had such a superb experience I
would have given up a long time ago.

Clear & non-slip case

2016-01-22 Thread Traci
Hi all,

I have the iPhone 6s in Rosegold. I am looking for a case that will show off
the color, be a bit nonslip, and allow me to lay it facedown on the table.
Sounds like a pretty tall order right? :) Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Re: Problems with Fleksy number/symbols layout

2016-01-22 Thread Alan Lemly
Sandy,

I agree that the original Fleksy app was easier to use and generated far fewer
errors at least for me. Unfortunately, the developers seem uninterested in
supporting that option now that third party keyboards are allowed. If you saved
your Fleksy VO app, you can always use that which is what I've been doing the
last several months. I finally decided that it's time to give the Fleksy
keyboard a chance which means I have to use it consistently to get good with
it. I'm already seeing some improvement.

I understand if you're not interested in using its current incarnation but I
suspect we're not going to see an option to have the original Fleksy interface.

Good luck with whatever input method works best for you.

Hi everyone,

Well, I've buckled down as I shopaholicly do, and purchased the
voyager Edge. I'm really eager to get started using it, but am not
sure where to start. I'm quite technologically impaired at the best of
times, so it's possible that set-up is much easier than I'm imagining.
does anyone know of a podcast or set of instructions on getting

Thanks!

If you go into the Settings, then Accessibility, then Voices, then select

Anyone playing blindfold wildcard, in earlier versions you used to be able
to customize your players with up to four players including yourself, Now
I'm finding that I can't do this if I want to customize my players I have to
purchase an upgrade. Has anyone else encountered this. I'm using the latest

I'd complain via the app but I'm such an incredibly slow typer on the phone

Hi, all. Has anyone else noticed a significantly greater battery drain since
updating to IOS 9.2? It seems to me that my battery goes down faster since the
update. I’m using an IPhone 6 running 9.2. Any thoughts? Thanks.

God bless!

RE: accessible keyboard w/ number row

2016-01-22 Thread Alan Lemly
Brett,

I agree that the Fleksy Keyboard doesn't seem nearly as adept at word
prediction nor is it nearly as easy to use as the original Fleksy. However,
I can definitely produce input much more quickly with it than with the
standard iOS keyboard although not when first using it. I've had to sort of
unlearn some of my Fleksy VO habits as well as practice a lot with the
Fleksy Keyboard to get to that point.

I understand the Fleksy Keyboard isn't for everybody but hopefully those
that want to give it a go have enough documentation to do so. The learning
curve is fairly steep as is the amount of practice required. I've also found
that when using other apps on my iPhone such as iMDB, that when input is
required as in a movie search, the Fleksy Keyboard can sometimes burp
whereas the iOS standard keyboard seems rock solid at this point. That's why
knowing how to quickly switch between them is a must.

Hi,

I have actually got fleksy to work, but I think its word prediction is no
where near as good as the fleksy VO version. I spent more time trying to
correct words it didn't pick than if I had just used the iPhones keyboard.
So I uninstalled it.

Cheers,

Brett.

Re: Life line a great text based game in real-time

2016-01-22 Thread Jewel

BOO-HOO! I have killed Taylor, but thanks to the magical powers of the
computer, I have managed to
raise him from the dead; such a feat, I am told though I don't know how
credible the report is, has
been performed before!
I have restarted the game and gone back through the history until I reached the
place where I gave
Taylor the wrong direction.
I tapped on the alternative button: got a click but not the squeak and
thimp--thump--thimp--thump
that, usually indicates that a message is being sent.
I thought that when the game was restarted, I would start with an empty screen,
but that does not
seem to be so.
Can I clear it myself, and how do I get my message to get to the moon where my
little miracle
awaits.

Re: What happens to text messages that you send?

2016-01-22 Thread Jennie Facer

Text messages aren saved in the messages app. They are grouped by conversation.
The easiest way to delete them is to swipe up with one finger on the
conversation and they are gone. If he wants to delete them one at a time, it is
a little more difficult.

So if you send a message and don't get a reply, then what? He said he didn't
see any of his messages in the app. I don't know if he was looking in the
conversation view, if there even is another view. Or maybe he sent messages and
didn't get replies, so there were no actual conversations.

Google+ Accessibility
You may have noticed that I regularly call out the number of "accessibility
issues addressed" in our releases. Accessibility plays a big role in our
ongoing efforts to improve and in the new Google+, we've optimized user
interfaces on Android, iOS, and the Web for easier navigation with screen
readers and keyboard controls. In the past year alone, we've found & fixed over
450 accessibility bugs.

Some recent updates:
* Improved keyboard support on the web: navigate, comment, +1, create new
posts, and more
* Improved interactions with posts using both Talkback on Android and VoiceOver
on iOS that save people significant time and effort
* Search accessibility improvements on all platforms, with autocomplete results
announced when they're available

You can read more about accessibility support on the Google+ Help Center page
(https://support.google.com/plus/answer/6320404), and be sure to check out the
user-created GPlus Accessibility Community
(https://plus.google.com/communities/108884766040433463186).

As always, we're continuing to listen to your suggestions and ideas. So please
keep them coming using the Send Feedback menu item.
Thanks

Re: Shiprack app new update

2016-01-22 Thread Robin Frost

Hi,
Yes and now you can sync package info between their site and the app without
needing to sign in via Facebook or other such service. Once you create an
account on their site you can sign into it via the app. It's a bit tricky
finding the settings area of the app as VoiceOver only says item button but
the developer is aware of this and promises to address it in an update soon
to arrive.
I never like to put my eggs in one basket so use both apps but do think that
with this latest update they're quite on par with each other both in
usability and accuracy and timeliness of alerts.

The push notifications work great with the new update to Shiprack as well.

I just installed the latest update to the Shiprack package tracking app and
really like the changes. It is now possible to review all archived
shipments. I also prefer Shiprack over its competitor Parcel which has been
touted on this list.

Re: Apple watch

2016-01-22 Thread Nancy Badger
I love that I can feel the vibrations on my wrist when I get notifications. One
weakness is that the calendar, messages, activity app etc. all have the same
vibration. I love that I can tell time on my wrist again. I used braille
watches for quite a while. Then I decided to stop using them because I had my
iPhone. I realize that stopping I realize that not using the braille watches
was my decision. However, I didn't realize how much I missed having a watch. I
love being able to tap the watch and figure out what my next event is on the
calendar. That's probably one of the greatest benefits for me. I like being
able to set the timer on my watch instead of on my iPhone. Therefore when I am
home, moving from room to room at Cetera and I want to set a timer, I don't
need to carry my phone around with me.

Have you cleared your app switcher and done a Reset Network Settings? This is

Messages you send should still be seen in the Messages app. A
conversation will be started based on who you sent the message to.

Mary,

All I can say is that once you open Messages this is like opening an Inbox. I
have no idea why you have no Messages there or why your friend says there are
no messages. Maybe send a message to a friend or family member and then take a
look.

2016-01-22 Thread Tewai Halatau

useless, I couldn't hear anything, and the person at the other end couldn't
hear me.

Cheers.
