Seeing AI

2017-07-23 Thread Steve Sweeney
Hi,

Has anyone figured out how to get seeing ai to read LCD displays? I can get
it to read all the buttons around the display but nothing on the display.

Thx -Steve

Do you have any other product channel demos? I have the 5s so the product
channel isn't in my list of channels. Is the channel where you take pictures
of yourself and you are told how old you are and background info in that tab

Since some folks seem to be struggling with the bar code identification on
the Seeing AI Product Channel, I did a short demo and intentionally
started where the bar code wasn't.
When I found the bar code, I didn't hone in immediately so folks could get
an idea what they will hear.
For inquiring minds, I used Audio memos Pro with a Zoom IQ 6 microphone to
make the recording.

Re: Draining Battery

2017-07-23 Thread Deidre Muccio
Dulce, a few more things you can do our two Turn auto brightness down to zero,
turn cellular data off, manually lock your screen even if it's set to
automatically lock every few minutes. Also you can look under battery for what
programs are hogging the most have the most usage. It'll list them there an
order and show you how much they have used in the last 24 hours or whatever
time sequence you've set. So things like tune in radio or Facebook or are
likely to be top your list if you used those particular applications. Obviously
location tracking GPS and map applications as you must already know are also
going to use a lot of battery up fairly quickly. But look at manage storage
and under that I think is where battery usage is listed and take a look so that
you can get an idea what applications are using the most battery.

Hi,
An underscore is the name of the symbol that is used when underlining text.
In Microsoft word yu would select the words you want underlined and hit
control+iu.
I'm not aware of being able to underline a word on the iOS devices.
But, the single underscore character on the iOS keyboard is found in the "more
symbols" section.
When the onscreen keyboard is up, touch where it says more numbers, (or double
tap if you don't have touch typing on) then just above that is a button called
More Symbols.
Activate that and then just above it is the underscore character.

IN computer braille I believe it was dots 4,5,6. I can't remember right now if
that was changed in UEB, but I suspect it was.
I don't have my reference sheet handy.

I have a really stupid question. What is an underscore, and how do I make it in
braille (computer I think) and print. How do you cover more than one word with
it, and where do I" find it on IOS keyboard? Sorry, couldn't put in one

Hello
That will not work at all. Double tap the pause announcements button. This is
on the main screen of the app. Then, once done with The app, close it
completely. Double tap the pause announcements button when you are not using
the camera. In the app at the moment in that channel.
Hope this helps,

Re: A strange issue with the native keyboard.

2017-07-23 Thread Ed Worrell
Hello It sounds like you have the direct touch typing option selected for text
input on the keyboard. To change this back you will need Go to the settings
app, general, Accessibility, and to VoiceOver. You will find an option in the
settings called typing style. Open this section and there will be a few options
in this section. It sounds like you are used to the standard typing mode so
find that in the list and double tap on that setting. Now your keyboard should
work like you are used to.

I hope this helps,

RE: seeing AI surprise

2017-07-23 Thread Richard Turner
Dear voyeur Sandy,
Sieghard said he put his iPhone in airplane mode and the Short Text channel
worked fine.
The person channel will tell you the number of faces, but to get anything more,
you have t to have the internet.
I just tested it with my iPod Touch 6 in airplane mode and can confirm, the
Short Text channel works fine.
Nothing else works as intended and gives the message, unable to contact the
server …

So, at least the short text will be useful in spite of your broadband speed.

I think, if you haven’t, you should write Microsoft and encourage them to get
it released in the UK. Write:
seein...@microsoft.com

I hope you get it soon.

RE: Accessible Scale with IOS

2017-07-23 Thread Brett

Hi,

From the research I have done, most people think this one is excelent the
most accurate CGM. I have heard that the app is mostly accessible and you
are able to rad the last test result.

Unfortunately, no CGM's are covered here and Dexcom is a bit too pricy for
me at around $800 every three months. I am currently using the Freestyle
Libre which is just over half the cost of the Dexcom.

Cheers,
Brett.

Anyways; I just went to the Qardio website and unfortunately, they do
not make a blood glucose monitor. Bummer, right?
I know they do make blood sugar monitors that are Bluetooth/wireless
and run through an app. But damn! They are pricey indeed!
I have a blind lady friend, who went blind due to diabetic
retinopathy, that was researching for a smart phone blood sugar
machine. She told me about a really accessible one that was a pretty
good unit. I forgot the name, but she had to call the company to see
if her Medicare/Medicaid would cover the cost of the unit. As of this
point, it wouldn't. But they said they were working on it and it was hopeful.

One thing about this unit, you can add contacts to be notified if your
blood sugar drops down to a pre set level. Now that's cool! I
remember, and tremble when I do, back when I'd be standing in line
with a friend. Then pass right out from low blood sugar. I was brittle
enough that I didn't feel it coming. Just standing there talking with
my friend and next thing I know, there's a paramedic asking me what year it

Does that bring back any memories to any of you out there? I feel for you all!

Hi everyone and good morning!
I've been wanting to comment on this post, but I've only had my

down and learn my Zag fold up Bluetooth keyboard, but I'd rather put that
off for now! LOL!

Anyways, I've purchased the Qardio Arm Blood Pressure Machine. This
thing works absolutely hands down fantastic, same for the app too!
So I've also been researching for a Bluetooth weight scale too. As I
wanted both the BP machine and the scale to work together on the same
app, AKA from the same company. This is why I went with Qardio for
both. I'm buying the Qardio Base; weight scale, at the end of the month.

So they call this scale the Qardio Base. Which gives the person
their body weight, their body mass index along with various other
measurements.

The one thing I'm very interested in and plan on using every day, is
the scale's fluid weight. As I'm back on dialysis, after having a
transplanted kidney for 8 years, and knowing exactly how much fluid
I've gained in between treatments, would help me out immensely! Now I
know it'll take me a bit of time to get the fluid weight deal down
pat, but I think I'll get it and knowing this number will be quite
good for me, and let me know exactly what I can get away with in-between
dialysis treatments.

I can also tell you without a doubt, that the Qardio app, and you can
use this one app to work all of the Cardio health devices, is
completely accessible for Voice Over! It will work in conjunction
with your IPhone's Health App, meaning when you take a BP
measurement, or you weigh yourself, your reading automatically goes
straight into your Health App too. So you've got your readings in
both the Health App and the Qardio App. Plus through the Qardio app,
you can email your history of readings to your doctor! Now that's big!

I use my Qardio Arm, BP Machine, at least twic
