The iPhone SE is a combination of 5S and 6S technology, nothing left from the 5
or 5C which were 32 bit with no Touch Id.

Terry,
There is no such phone as a 5 SE.
There is the iPhone SE, and there are iPhone 5, 5c and 5s.
assuming you have the iPhone SE, it should be fine by next September.
What does the keyboard not charging have to do with the phone?
You really need to take your phone to an Apple store if you want to have it
checked out for problems.
Or, at the very least, call Apple Accessibility and have them do the screen
sharing where they could probably tell you once and for
all which phone you have.
You could also call Apple sales and get prices on the 6s.
Good luck,
Richard

I know the more memory I want, the more the phone is likely to cost.

RE: iPhone 6S

2017-10-14 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Rob,

Just a bit of a correction, the iPhone SE was released a year and a half after
the iPhone 6/6 Plus and even after the 6S/6S Plus, but very much the same
inside. Here a summary again of the last 5 years:
2012: iPhone 5 and 5C (plastic version), A6 processor (32 bit only) and iOS 6
2013: iPhone 5S with A7 processor (first 64 bit CPU), Touch Id was introduced
(first generation), iOS 7
2014: iPhone 6/6 Plus with A8 processor, still first gen Touch Id and iOS 8
2015: iPhone 6S/6S Plus with A9 processor, second generation Touch Id, first
phone with 3D Touch, iOS 9
2016 April: iPhone SE with A9 processor and iOS 9 (same as 6S) but no 3D Touch
and first generation Touch Id.
2016 September: iPhone 7/7 Plus with A10 processor and iOS 10, no more 3.5mm
headphone jack, 3D Touch and second gen touch Id
2017 September: iPhone 8/8 Plus with A11 Bionic processor and iOS 11, 3D Touch,
second gen Touch Id, wireless charging
2017 November: iPhone X with A11 Bionic processor and iOS 11, OLED screen with
no more home button/Touch Id, Face Id instead and wireless charging.

I intentionally didn't mention all the camera changes, it would get too
confusing for a short summary.

Regards,
Sieghard

The 5sE came out about the time of the 6/6+ as the small economic option, and
were quite good. It would remain good if it wasn't for ever updated. It
worked well with the iOs it had, seems a shame to spoil them.

The 5C was an economic plastic option at the time of the 5S. So these older
models still exist and are still well used while they last.

Terri,

You keep referring to your iPhone as a 5SE which does not exist.
I think I still don't know what phone you actually have, is it an iPhone 5S or
an iPhone SE?
If you in fact have an iPhone SE then you basically have a smaller iPhone 6S
without the 3D touch capability and with a first
generation Touch Id sensor, the SE has the same A9 processor as the 6S, in fact
it was released half a year after the iPhone 6S was
released, but since it is meant to be a price point phone, Apple didn't give it
the screen which allows for 3D touch and it didn't
give it the newer, second generation Touch Id home button.
>From what you said before you don't even have a passcode on your phone hence
>you don't use Touch Id and therefore it makes no
difference whether you have a first or second generation home button.
The iPhone 6S and SE came with iOS 9 preinstalled and both will support at
least another 2 years worth of iOS updates.
You have iOS 11 this year, you will get iOS 12 next year and iOS 13 in 2019.
That means between now and when iOS 14 comes out in
2020 (the end of the iOS 13 cycle) it is another 3 years, you can get plenty of
use from your iPhone SE.

If your iPhone is in fact a 5S which was released in 2013 with iOS 7
preinstalled (it had the first 64 bit processor), then iOS 11
this year may be it's last update, but who knows, it could still support iOS 12
next year, we won't know until at least next June
whether that is the case.
Regardless whether you have a 5S or an SE, I would usually advise strongly
against buying a 6S now because you are buying a phone
which is already two years old, much better to look for an iPhone 7 or simply
wait until next year, if you have an SE then you can
definitely wait at least one or maybe even two years. You often point out you
can't spend that much and are on a fixed income, so
stop buying Android phones, iPads, again an iPhone now maybe another iPhone...
that is a total waste of money. If you have an iPhone
SE it will do anything you want and in a year or two every single iPhone will
have an OLED screen, in two years you can get an
iPhone 8 with OLED screen and wireless charging for the same price as you could
buy a 6S now and unless you have the money to spend
there is just no reason whatsoever to upgrade every year or even two. I bought
a 6S Plus two years ago and I am keeping it for a
third year because the phone works great and while wireless charging is sort of
cool and the A11 Bionic chip is also cool and most
likely very fast it just is not worth it for me. As these phones get more and
more mature technology just does not jump ahead that
much. If I really wanted the coolest I'd buy an iPhone X, but I don't have
$1,500 this year because of lots of other expenses and I
know in a year I can get the same tech for a few hundred Dollars cheaper.

If you want to really know what phone you have, do this:
1. Go to Settings > General > About
2. Swipe until you hear "Model" followed by a number most likely it starts with
a "N".
3. Double tap on that and it will change to the so-called "A number",

If you have a 5S (released in the fall of 2013), it will have one of the
following model numbers:
A1453, A1457, A1518, A1528, A1530, A1533.
Really all you need to check if the first part is A14 or A15
The iPhone 5S came in 16, 32 and 64 Gb
It came in colours Space gray, silver and gold

If you have an iPhone SE (released in the spring of 2016) , it will have one of
the following model numbers:
A1662, A1723, A1724
Again, just look at the first part, either A16 or A17.
The iPhone SE came in 16, 32, 64 and 128 Gb versions
It came in colours Space gray, silver, gold and rose gold

If your model starts with A14 or A15 you have a 5S, if your model starts with
A16 or A17 it is an iPhone SE.
The model or "A number" is also on the back cover of each phone so if you can't
find it in Settings > General > About just ask a
sighted friend to tell you what it says on the back of the phone.

Hello! I am having the same issues with HuLu that you are experiencing. I
talked to a customer support person and he said that in the next update
problems with voiceover should be resolved. I will believe this when it
happens. In the meantime, their is a work around. Use the TV App on your phone
to search for programs. You will then be able to bring up the program on HuLu

Terry,
There is no such phone as a 5 SE.
There is the iPhone SE, and there are iPhone 5, 5c and 5s.
assuming you have the iPhone SE, it should be fine by next September.
What does the keyboard not charging have to do with the phone?
You really need to take your phone to an Apple store if you want to have it
checked out for problems.
Or, at the very least, call Apple Accessibility and have them do the screen
sharing where they could probably tell you once and for all which phone you
have.
You could also call Apple sales and get prices on the 6s.
Good luck,
Richard

RE: iPhone 6S

2017-10-14 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Terri,

You keep referring to your iPhone as a 5SE which does not exist.
I think I still don't know what phone you actually have, is it an iPhone 5S or
an iPhone SE?
If you in fact have an iPhone SE then you basically have a smaller iPhone 6S
without the 3D touch capability and with a first generation Touch Id sensor,
the SE has the same A9 processor as the 6S, in fact it was released half a year
after the iPhone 6S was released, but since it is meant to be a price point
phone, Apple didn't give it the screen which allows for 3D touch and it didn't
give it the newer, second generation Touch Id home button.
>From what you said before you don't even have a passcode on your phone hence
>you don't use Touch Id and therefore it makes no difference whether you have a
>first or second generation home button.
The iPhone 6S and SE came with iOS 9 preinstalled and both will support at
least another 2 years worth of iOS updates.
You have iOS 11 this year, you will get iOS 12 next year and iOS 13 in 2019.
That means between now and when iOS 14 comes out in 2020 (the end of the iOS 13
cycle) it is another 3 years, you can get plenty of use from your iPhone SE.

If your iPhone is in fact a 5S which was released in 2013 with iOS 7
preinstalled (it had the first 64 bit processor), then iOS 11 this year may be
it's last update, but who knows, it could still support iOS 12 next year, we
won't know until at least next June whether that is the case.
Regardless whether you have a 5S or an SE, I would usually advise strongly
against buying a 6S now because you are buying a phone which is already two
years old, much better to look for an iPhone 7 or simply wait until next year,
if you have an SE then you can definitely wait at least one or maybe even two
years. You often point out you can't spend that much and are on a fixed income,
so stop buying Android phones, iPads, again an iPhone now maybe another
iPhone... that is a total waste of money. If you have an iPhone SE it will do
anything you want and in a year or two every single iPhone will have an OLED
screen, in two years you can get an iPhone 8 with OLED screen and wireless
charging for the same price as you could buy a 6S now and unless you have the
money to spend there is just no reason whatsoever to upgrade every year or even
two. I bought a 6S Plus two years ago and I am keeping it for a third year
because the phone works great and while wireless charging is sort of cool and
the A11 Bionic chip is also cool and most likely very fast it just is not worth
it for me. As these phones get more and more mature technology just does not
jump ahead that much. If I really wanted the coolest I'd buy an iPhone X, but I
don't have $1,500 this year because of lots of other expenses and I know in a
year I can get the same tech for a few hundred Dollars cheaper.

If you want to really know what phone you have, do this:
1. Go to Settings > General > About
2. Swipe until you hear "Model" followed by a number most likely it starts with
a "N".
3. Double tap on that and it will change to the so-called "A number", it is the
letter "A" followed by 4 numbers.

The model or "A number" is also on the back cover of each phone so if you can't
find it in Settings > General > About just ask a sighted friend to tell you
what it says on the back of the phone.

Regards,
Sieghard

outlook for iOS query?

2017-10-14 Thread Adam Morris

Hi all,

am not sure if the issue I'm having is due to the latest update to
outlook or the fact that I'm running a public beta of iOS11.

Both were updated last week.

If a message comes into outlook the icon says one new message.

If I delete the message from the pc outlook icon still says 1 message.

If I go into outlook it updates and says there are zero messages.

i'll try this one if it is free, but I have a folder full of such apps and do
not find any one of them nearly as reliable as a dedicated hardware color

The phone rings, a few times, however it doesn’t auto answer.

However, if she swipes or tap to answer things work just fine.

Is there a setting which I’m missing to be changed?

Apple Tv 3rd Generation not responding

2017-10-14 Thread Jen .
hi all of a sudden my Apple TV third generation is not responding no sound no
VoiceOver know nothing. I have unplugged it twice and plugged it back in and
no change. Other then plugging it into a computer does anyone have any other
suggestions of what might cause this and what can be done to resolve the
situation.
I thought it might be the batteries in the remote so decided to install the
remote app on my phone but of course it will not let me add the Apple TV
because I am assuming Bluetooth is off so it won't recognize it.
Thanks for any help.
Jen

Hi Noe,

First of all, you are running iOS 11.0.3 not 11.3.
Considering you asked about the “Null” thing when deleting messages I was
pretty certain you were on iOS 11 because that is a bug and there is nothing
you can do except wait until iOS 11.1 comes out where this will be fixed. You
could go ahead and go to http://beta.apple.com and register your device for the
iOS 11.1 beta program, after you do this and install the provisioning profile
you can go to Settings > General > Software Update and download/install the iOS
11.1 Beta. If you don’t want to do all this it shouldn’t be nmore than maybe 3
or so weeks before it goes live.
In the meantime just delete text messages by tapping the Edit button at the top
right, then double tap each message you want to delete to select it, then find
the Delete button at the bottom.
Alternatively, if you delete with the rotor and end up with the “Null” items,
just close the Messages app in the app switcher, after you reopen it these Null
entries will be gone.

Regards,
Sieghard

RE: iPhone Issues

2017-10-14 Thread Sieghard Weitzel

Regards,
Sieghard

Gerardo,

I don't have any ideas for addressing your issue transferring your downloaded
BARD zipped book to BARD Mobile from your Dropbox folder provided you followed
the steps I posted.

You can transfer a downloaded BARD book from your computer to the BARD Mobile
app using iTunes 12.7 and I think it's a bit easier than under earlier versions
of iTunes. Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone to your computer and place
focus on your iPhone and tap enter. Navigate to the Summary tab and tap the F
key to move to file sharing. Tap your F6 key and you'll jump to the file
sharing portion of the screen where the apps supporting it are listed below.
Tab until focus is on your list of apps and down arrow to the BARD Mobile app.
Tab until the Add File has focus and press enter to navigate to the folder
containing your BARD zip file. After you finish this process, the book should
be in your audiobooks library within your BARD Mobile app.

Good luck.

Touch the upper right of the screen where a button called more actions is. You

should swipe right on until you hear "copy to BARD Mobile" and then double tap.

I myself don't need to think about apples pictures, but if googles phone can

possible.
Though, not sure how it is in accessibility when it comes to other apps.

Hey Siri, Google Assistant is winning the AI game and it's not even close
You might have missed the Apple references during last week's Google Pixel 2
event, but they were there. There was VP of Product Management Mario Queiroz
telling the crowd, "We don't set aside better features for the larger
devices." Or pointing out that "even iMessages" would be transferred over
when you decide to switch. And let's not forget the woman taking a big bite
out of an apple during the Pixel 2's intro video.
In fact, it seemed like every new Google product released last week had a
singular message seemingly aimed squarely at Apple. Google might have a long
way to go before it starts selling iPhone-like numbers of Pixel phones, but
there is one important area where it's firmly in the lead, and it has
nothing to do with bezels or beats. It's about intelligence.
At its recent iPhone X event, Tim Cook pulled out Steve Jobs's old Wayne
Gretzky quote about skating to where the puck is going, but there's only one
company that's thinking forward right now and it's not Apple-it's Google.
New hardware might have been the reason for the event, but machine learning
was the strongest undercurrent, and the message Google sent was clear: Our
AI is better than your AI.
Brains before beauty
Google CEO Sundar Pichai kicked off the the Made by Google event by talking
about his favorite topic: machine learning. It's not enough that Google
makes uncannily accurate search algorithms anymore. Google is using its AI
smarts to make its products more responsive and adaptable to each user's
lifestyle.
 Google
Google Home Mini will put Google Assistant in every room of your house.
It's not about specs (although the Pixel phones have really good ones) or
design (although the Google Home Max will look good in any room). In fact,
none of Google's new products are all that interesting on the surface, but
what's inside is leaps and bounds ahead of what Apple is doing with Siri and
iPhone X. It's about smarts, and Google has integrated Google Assistant and
machine learning into every one of its devices in a, dare I say it,
Apple-like way.
There's the impulse-buy Google Home Mini and the high-fidelity Max to put
Assistant in every room of your house. Active Edge on the Pixel lets you
squeeze the sides of your phone to launch Assistant. And the
Assistant-powered Pixel Buds feature a remarkable live translation feature.
Google's latest products are designed from the inside out to be smarter than
they are pretty, a big bet that consumers are tired of good-looking gadgets
that put form before function. And if it's right, Apple could be playing
catch-up for years to come.
Conversations, not commands
Apple's first home AI speaker won't hit shelves until December, but Google
already has three of them. When it was announced in June, HomePod appeared
to have an advantage over Google Home and Amazon Echo with its
high-fidelity, room-sensing smarts, but now Google Home Max has landed, and
it might be even better.
 Apple
HomePod intelligently scans your room to deliver the perfect sound.
Like HomePod, Google Home Max uses machine learning to analyze your space to
deliver optimal sound, but Google's method gets more granular and fine-tunes
the sound based on the song you're listening to as well as adjusting based
on Max's surroundings. But if they're even when it comes to sound, the real
difference-maker is

They haven't given AI to their accessibility products, yet.

Makes one wonder if their phone will be better then apple with their AI...
I myself don't need to think about apples pictures, but if googles phone can
out function apples phones with brains, and assistance, might just be
possible.
Though, not sure how it is in accessibility when it comes to other apps.
Might be worth keeping an eye out on their products.

But if they're even when it comes to sound, the real
difference-maker is Google Assistant.
Apple has improved Siri's speech patterns in iOS 11, but for the most part,
its AI ambitions have been relatively conservative. Google Assistant isn't
just better at recognizing what you're saying, it's more contextual and
conversational, which leads to an all-around better experience. And with the
new routines feature, you'll be able to combine several tasks (like shutting
the lights, setting an alarm, and activating your security system) with a
single phrase. It even recognizes your voice over t

It would help to know what difficulties he has.
Before iOS 11 when I tapped on the voice mail tab (this is regular voice mail,
not visual voice mail) it directly dialed and connected to my voice mail.
In iOS 11 double tapping on the voice mail tab doesn’t do this any more, you
have to find and double tap again on a button on the screen which Voiceover
reads as “Call Voice Mail”.
Not sure if that is his problem, if it is not then you would need to provide
more details about what is or is not working.

RE: color identifier

2017-10-14 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
What is the app store link, I assume if you search for a word like "Selection"
you will get a ton of results. I'd be interested in this since I have not ever
yet heard a good, accurate and consistent colour identifier app.

I found one named Selection which works better than my Colorino (except that

The color identifier apps are primarily for entertainment value, and do not

iOS 11 lets you turn off iPhone or iPad without the power button

2017-10-14 Thread Mary Otten

iOS 11 lets you turn off iPhone or iPad without the power button
AppleInsider

Among the lesser known features included in Apple's latest iOS 11 is a new
software function that lets users turn off their device without touching a
physical button, handy in the case of random hardware failures and other
glitches.

While not the most useful feature, a software-based shutdown option is a
welcome addition to Apple's mobile operating system.

Since the inception of iOS, users have been forced to rely on an iPhone or
iPad's power button, referred to by Apple as the sleep/wake, to initiate the
shutdown sequence. A long press and hold gesture is normally used to bring up
the power off screen, though other methods can be used in emergency situations.

For example, simultaneously pressing and holding the sleep/wake and home button
— on iPhone models without force sensitive home buttons — will reset the device.

On iPhone 7, Apple introduced a static, non-moving home button that use
force-sensing components to work, similar in function to 3D Touch displays.
Without a mechanical home button, Apple changed the reset procedure to
incorporate the volume down button, meaning users simply had to squeeze both
sides of their handset to force restart.

Until now, Apple's shutdown and reset methods relied on mechanical buttons, but
iOS 11 brings a new software option into play. This can be especially useful if
an iPhone or iPad's sleep/wake, home or volume button is broken or otherwise
inoperable. Additionally, the function might serve as an accessibility feature
for users who are unable to grasp their device or operate physical buttons.

Here's how to do it:

Step 1. Navigate to the Settings app.

Step 2. Tap on General and scroll down to the bottom of the menu.

Step 3. Tap on the Shut Down option highlighted in blue font. The usual iOS
shutdown screen will immediately appear.

Step 4. Slide the large power button to the right along the slide to power off
track to shut down your device. Alternatively, you can cancel the action by
pressing the X button at the bottom of the screen.

Hulu App

2017-10-14 Thread Kelly Ford
Hello,

What sort of success have people had using the Hulu app with VoiceOver? I can
make some selections but when it gets down to the most critical, I do not seem
to be able to activate items.

For example, I can select the browse tab and then networks. At that point there
is a list of categories such as live entertainment sports and such. But when I
try and activate one of those items, which would lead to networks under that
category, double tapping does nothing.

As another example, I can activate the my stuff tab but then the categories of
items under that are not able to be activated with a double tap using voiceOver

So I helped her get into the settings, accessibility,

And then into iPhone auto answer,

We set the phone to automatically answer after 20 seconds,

However, the phone doesn't answer, the call goes into the answering machine.

The phone rings, a few times, however it doesn't auto answer.

However, if she swipes or tap to answer things work just fine.

Is there a setting which I'm missing to be changed?

Re: Receiving Text Messages on Apple Watch Series 3

2017-10-14 Thread Deb Lewis
When I get a message, if I'm quick, I can just tap the screen and it's
available to read. If I'm not quick enough or doing something else, I
have to open the notification center on the watch to read it. But it's
often easy to get them by just tapping the face as if you were
checking for the time. As far as I know, the face choice doesn't have
any impact on this. But I think the only two faces worth using are
simple and utility. So I'm probably not the one to ask about that.

Good afternoon,

people’s thoughts on it. How easy is it for a totally blind person to not only

I figured a tool like this would allow me to take much better pictures of

If you don’t like the StandScan, what would you use instead that would give me

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Re: Force Touch With Voiceover on Apple Watch

2017-10-14 Thread Deb Lewis
Yes, just press hard. The watch will vibrate and make a series of
sounds when you've activated whatever force touch is going to give you
at that point. One I use regularly is to go into activity, force touch
on the per centages for move, exercise and standing. You'll get the
weekly summary and the option to change your move goal. Or, force
touch on the time and you can change which face is showing. To go
ahead and keep your current face, just press the crown. It's a pretty
cool feture.

Why you need to upgrade from this older version of Windows 10 - CNET

2017-10-14 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

I am cross-posting this to both the V iPhone and Mac Visionaries mailing
lists for those who, like me, use both Windows and Mac.

Mark

Why you need to upgrade from this older version of Windows 10 - CNET

CNET How To - Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 2:00 AM
Why you need to upgrade from this older version of Windows 10 - CNET
If you have refused Microsoft's Windows 10 updates for the past couple of
years, it's now time to upgrade. Microsoft announced that it is no longer
rolling out security and quality updates to Windows 10 version 1511, which
was released nearly two years ago in November 2015.
What's a quality update?
There are two types of Microsoft updates: feature updates and quality
updates. Feature updates add new features and functionality and are
generally released twice a year. Quality updates provide security and
reliability fixes and are released monthly -- typically on what is known as
Patch Tuesday, the second Tuesday of every month. When Microsoft says that
Windows 10 version 1511 will no longer receive security and quality updates,
it's just being redundant; security fixes come by way of quality updates.
Does it matter if I'm running Windows 10 Home or Pro?
It does not. The end of service for Windows 10 version 1511 affects not only
both Windows 10 Home and Pro editions but also Windows 10 Education and
Enterprise editions.
How do I check which version of Window 10 I have?
In the search box on the taskbar, type winver and hit Enter. This opens the
About Windows window that tells you which version of Windows 10 you are
running. If it listed as Version 1511 (or, gasp!, earlier), then it's time
to update.
How do I update?
Open the Settings app and choose Update & security. Next, choose Windows
Update from the left column and then click the Check for updates button. Or,
if an update is sitting there waiting for you, click the Restart now button
to restart your PC and install the update. Alternatively, you could wait
until next week and install Windows 10 Fall Creators Update when it's
released on October 17.

Now Playing: Watch this: 10 quick ways to speed up Windows 10
3:27
And if I refuse?
Well, your computer will continue to work but you will no longer receive
updates to patch up any holes that might leave you open to future security
vulnerabilities. You will be operating, as they say, without a net.

Touch the note you want to pin to the top of the list and flick down with one
finger. The first option will be pin note.
The word pin will be spoken at the end of the title of the note, which is
VoiceOver simply reading the icon.

HTH,
Richard

Can someone tell me where to look to make sure it is turned on. Also if

Receiving Text Messages on Apple Watch Series 3

2017-10-14 Thread Suzanne Wilson
Hello,

Does the ease with which you can read an incoming text message or
notification on the Apple watch vary according to which clock face you have
downloaded? I would love the convenience of being able to read incoming
notifications on my watch just by pressing the rectangular button, but new
notifications don't seem to be there when I do. Am I doing something wrong?
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Suzanne

Searching in the messaging App

2017-10-14 Thread John J. Fioravanti, Jr.
Hi: I'm moved up to the iPhone 8 and noticed that in the messaging App
nothing I put in the search field shows me anything. In other words, in the
6 when I would type a phone number or name in the search field, those
messages would show in the results. They don't in the iPhone 8.

Is there a solution to this?

Thanks very much.

Using an iPhone 5S with latest iOS, tried on a 118 Mb book, but no go! I left
it alone for nearly 45 minutes at the "Exporting book) after having selected
"Copy to Bard Mobile" but nothing! I'd check on Bard Mobile's Bookshelf, but
nothing was on there! Any ideas? Also has anyone tried with iTunes 12.7 to see
if one can still import books to Bard Mobile?

  Chris,

Here are the instructions I just got to work to transfer a zipped BARD book
in a Dropbox folder to the BARD Mobile app:

  1. Open Dropbox on your iDevice
and navigate to the appropriate folder containing your BARD book zip file.

  2. Place focus on the book you
want to transfer and double tap.

  3. A new screen opens and if you
touch the middle of it, Voiceover will announce something like "zip files can't
be previewed" which you can ignore. Touch the upper right of the screen where a
button called more actions is. You don't want it but swipe left once and focus
should be placed on a share button which you should double tap.

  4. At the very bottom of the
screen is an unlabeled button which simply says button on my iPhone 7. Double
tap when it has focus.

  5. A share sheet will open and
you should swipe right until you hear open in and then double tap.

  6. You'll hear an announcement
saying "exporting" which might take some time to clear depending on the size of
the book. You'll hear a sort of burble sound when it is done and another share
sheet will appear on the screen which you should swipe right on until you hear
"copy to BARD Mobile" and then double tap.

  7. Go to your BARD Mobile
bookshelf and the transferred book should be in its proper place such as
audiobooks.

I'm glad this still works but I must admit that it seems less intuitive and
less accessible than it did in prior versions of iOS.

Thanks Alan for the update. I am still running ios 10. I am waiting on ios
11.1 before updating.

It might even be ios 11.03, because I seen a few different apps that have
been broken with this current update. That is really strange that you get that
result with the export button. Maybe the current ios update broke something in
Dropbox. Hopefully Dropbox will address this issue in a future update.

  Thanks again,

Very curious. I don't know if this is something we lost because of iOS 11 but

Hello, no, but on 3D Touch capable devices it's just wonderful to clear all old
notifications in one go thanks to a new custom action in Cover Sheet, the new
name for what was the Notification Centre. Just focus on the "clear
notifications in this section", flick up with one finger, perform a one finger
double tap and watch them all magically disappear.

Most of the news alerts have a sound to draw your attention. In earlier
versions, the alert would read without you having to touch the phone. Under the
current version I have to either swipe the screen to read the message, or lock
and unlock the screen to get it to speak. when it speaks it speaks everything.
I am assuming that this is just a flaw in the locked screen. There are some
other functions that do not work correctly in locked screen mode.

I also notice that when I am in an application that notifications disappear
before I can check them. Perhaps this is part of the same problem.

I am awaiting resolution of this problem. If none is forthcomming, maybe they
can show us how to go back to IOS 10.

Did anyone see that apparently not reading notifications on the locked screen
is a change with a purpose? Apple is giving users the ability to read
notifications only after the user's ID is known by the phone. So, your
fingehprin opens the locked screen and it will show either the whole
notification or only the place it comes from. Maybe this is the reason the
notifications are no longer read. Not good in my opinion, but I took off the
open screen by resting finger off, and now I can look at them without
automatically going to the main home screen. Hope they will reinstate reading
with VO in the future.

And with iTunes 12.7? Re: Using Dropbox to transfer books from computer to Iphone's Bard Mobile app?

2017-10-14 Thread Gerardo Corripio
Using an iPhone 5S with latest iOS, tried on a 118 Mb book, but no go! I left
it alone for nearly 45 minutes at the "Exporting book) after having selected
"Copy to Bard Mobile" but nothing! I'd check on Bard Mobile's Bookshelf, but
nothing was on there! Any ideas? Also has anyone tried with iTunes 12.7 to see
if one can still import books to Bard Mobile?

I have a friend who is getting an android phone.

If anyone knows of a good tutorial that would help learning their version of
voiceover, I'd really appreciate it.
