If you get this one, you'll have to let me know what you think. That sounds
really good. I love the one I have, but I am not opposed to keeping it
simple either.

I just found a Paula Dean model on Amazon that is a 9.5 quart and it says
it has simple knob controls. I may end up getting this one, it is rated 4.6
out of 5 stars with 2029 reviews.

We made the mistake of buying a Philips and while it is a good machine,
they are really expensive and this one is a touch screen. I also can not
hear the beeps because they are too high pitched. I do like the 5 point 8
quart Cosori we just got a couple of weeks ago. I think we have used this
one more in the last few weeks than we have used the Philips since we have
owned it.

We have the HP Phillips 9650 air fryer. It is very easy to use. It has
buttons on it plus the dial. Personally myself I wouldn’t get cooking
appliances that use Alexa because if your electricity goes you can’t use
your air fryer. Everyone to his or her opinion. JMT.

Also if there are some particular you have in mind that you want audio
description from Disney. Let them know. The woman who is in charge of doing

Re: Disney Plus and descriptive audio

2021-01-05 Thread John JD Denning
I find this entire thread interesting. I’ve had Disney+ since day one. And one
thing that impressed me and my wife was the faster amount of content with audio
description. Like most of their back catalog actually I have to say I’ve only
tried one that didn’t have audio description but old classics such as Bambi,
and sleeping beauty and then movies from the 60s and 70s and 80s all with audio
description and then Marvel and Star Wars content and I knew if I tried
something it I didn’t have it try it again in a short time and sure enough

Oh wow, sorry no punctuation. I’ve just been doing lots of messages on
WhatsApp. But you get the point I am incredibly impressed with Disney and what
they’re doing and trying to do better all the time. The only other network
that’s really doing that is Apple TV+. Yes Netflix and Amazon have audio
description. A very quality. And not nearly the amount Percentagewise of their
catalog. And Amazon is starting to do synthesized audio description and that is
utter crap. So they’re going for the quantity just not the quality. I want both
I want everything with audio description and a high-quality.

RE: Disney Plus and descriptive audio

2021-01-05 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Disney has a lot of old and now new movies,

Remember the old ones in most cases wont have been digitised so they will have
to be working through them to convert them to a digital format and then add in
the likes of the AD and subtitles type features

The newer movies / tv shows are being produced in digital formats so there is
no real delay in getting them on to the Disney service with adaptive features
like AD etc.

So give it time.

Give it some time. They just put those movies on the service. Back in March, I
put on Secretariate and I was very disappointed that there was no audio
description. But then a couple of months later I checked again after someone on
the list said that there was in fact audio description and this time there
actually was audio description. So maybe in a couple of months, they will add
audio description for these movies too.

Focus going crazy with full keyboard access turned on

2021-01-05 Thread Sherrie Gosling
This is a warning to be sure you do not turn on full keyboard access in the
keyboard section of the accessibility settings. Two days ago I was trying to
get the emoji keyboard back and tried turning this on. I did get the emoji
keyboard back but forgot I had turned this on when trying to figure out why my
phone was going crazy. My favorite game, seven little words, would not work at
all. And the focus in apps such as mail, reminders, and messages kept jumping
all over the place till I was going nuts.
So I just did a search for the word focus in my Viphone emails and found The
solution from Sieghard. Thank goodness I do not delete any group emails that
might come in handy someday!

When you have a combo convection oven and air fryer, be sure to check the times
it takes to cook things.
We were looking at the Emeril Lagasse Power AirFryer 360, but it took just as
long to cook a whole chicken as a regular oven.

This is my last email on this subject as I know it is off topic. I decided
against the Paula Dean model after reading some of the reviews, but I have
found one that I want, it is a Black & Decker TO3265XSSD convection Oven/Air
Fryer that holds 8 pieces of bread, a 12 inch pizza or a 9 by 13 inch pan, I
have found it at Home Depot for just over $71 and at Lowe’s for about $80. I
was told that this model has 3 knobs which should be very easy to label. Amazon
has it, but it is not fulfilled by Amazon, so I won’t even touch that. Home
Depot and Lowe’s are both reputable though.

I'll give you a neat little trick that I found out by playing around. When you
use a recipe or the app to set up something you press the cook now button and
the app tells you to press the start button on the device. If you have the air
fryer connected to your echo or dot, just tell her to resume the air fryer.
There are settings already set up from whatever you have done in the app and
the A lady doesn't realize that it hasn't started yet, so she just does
whatever is in the app that you have set up. Now, with this, you don't even
need the start button. I have marked all the buttons on my fryer just so I
have them marked and know where they are, but right now I don't even need that
start button. Hope this helps you.

Hi Jim,

I just got the Cosori Smart Air Fryer for Christmas. It easily connects to
Wi-Fi and works with Alexa. Just make sure you get model CS158-Af as the
CP158-Af model is not Wi-Fi compatible. I found that I needed to only mark the
start button, and the rest is possible with Alexa and/or the app.

  Hello,

Please excuse me for this off topic message, but I have been

helpful
  for my wife and I.

We are wanting to purchase our first air fryer, so I am wondering if
anyone
on the list has any recommendations as to the best fryer for a blind
person?
I am seeing a lot of choices on Amazon but they all seem to have those
dredded touch controls. Does anyone know if there are any air fryers
on the
market that have tactile buttons, or maybe a fryer that you can
operate with
Alexa. I know that Amazon sells a smart oven, but my wife and I would
like
to get a stand alone fryer.

Thank You for your help with this.

It hasn't moved from settings, accessibility, VoiceOver, Braille.

I won't say there are "correct" settings. You can set it to use UEB, or EBAE
by choosing contracted US, and you can set it to have a different input than
output as in, computer for input, and contracted for output.
There are a lot of settings in there that allow you to set it up according to
your preferences.

It is best to have the Orbit reader set to Just Works under Pairing in its
settings.

For one noone knows how much a Sonos headphone, if it ever comes out, will
cost. Second, a Sonos headset will be more than just a Bluetooth headset, it
will be part of a multi-room system which allows you to easily channel the
aduio from any music you are playing whether it's from an online service, from
your iOS device playing to Sonos via Airplay or whether it's the audio from
your TV if it is connected to the Sonos system. Third I would hazard a guess
and say that if nd when a Sonos headset comes out, it will be just as good with
respect to sound quality as the rest of their speakers so it really is
premature to say you would go Bose over Apple or Sonos when you don't know
either the quality or the price point of a Sonos headset. I find Bose headsets
just as overpriced as those from Apple for what they are and I know a few
people who have relatively expensive Bose bluetooth speakers and to my ear they
are average in sound quality, but that is just my opinion.

As Richard said, Sonos unfortunately is not yet making a headset which acts as
its own Sonos player/room so to speak. I have been waiting for years, but so
far I am told Sonos is about listening out loud and as a family/social group,
but I am still hopeful that one day Sonos will have their own high-end headset
with built-in Alexa etc.
I would never spend the price for something like th enew Apple headset, $549
US, but I would spend this for a Sonos headset.

We found that a local store had the Sonos 1 and SL in stock, plus the new Arc

We got to hear the soundbar in the store and it is pretty amazing!

Their display with the Sonos 1 and SL had been fried from a electrical surge
and wasn’t fixed, but based on the sound quality of the soundbar and all the
great reviews, we went ahead and bought 3 Sonos SL speakers.
We decided we did not need the voice services like Google or Alexa.
Well, the setup was pretty easy.
And the sound is very impressive for the size they are.
Once we get the soundbar for the TV, we will have a great setup in our two home

So, I am now a happy camper.

What I am disappointed with the majority of these devices is the lack of stereo
imagery in a single device. JBL had a Soundstage that was about the size of a
cereal bowl and its speakers were around the perimeter. No matter where you sat
in relation to this speaker you heard stereo.

Bose is not average in sound quality. I have a bose revolve plus speaker that
I bought myself as a Christmas present a couple years ago. I never used it all
that much until last week. The sound especially for music and audio dramas is
amazing. It has enough bass to have a very full sound and is very detailed. I
live at home, so I couldn't have multiple speakers in different rooms of our
house even if I wanted to. I'm glad that Richard is very happy with his sonos
speakers. I've never heard one of those speakers. I've also got a google home
and that smart speaker has a very good sound as well.

What I am disappointed with the majority of these devices is the lack of
stereo imagery in a single device. JBL had a Soundstage that was about the
size of a cereal bowl and its speakers were around the perimeter. No matter
where you sat in relation to this speaker you heard stereo.

Bose is not average in sound quality. I have a bose revolve plus
speaker that I bought myself as a Christmas present a couple years
ago. I never used it all that much until last week. The sound
especially for music and audio dramas is amazing. It has enough bass
to have a very full sound and is very detailed. I live at home, so I
couldn't have multiple speakers in different rooms of our house even
if I wanted to. I'm glad that Richard is very happy with his sonos
speakers. I've never heard one of those speakers. I've also got a
google home and that smart speaker has a very good sound as well.

really is premature to say you would go Bose over Apple or Sonos when you

Bose headsets just as overpriced as those from Apple for what they are and
I

As Richard said, Sonos unfortunately is not yet making a headset which
acts
as its own Sonos player/room so to speak. I have been waiting for years,
but

so far I am told Sonos is about listening out loud and as a family/social
group, but I am still hopeful that one day Sonos will have their own
high-end headset with built-in Alexa etc.
I would never spend the price for something like th enew Apple headset,
$549

US, but I would spend this for a Sonos headset.

Their display with the Sonos 1 and SL had been fried from a electrical

Re: Disney Plus and descriptive audio

2021-01-05 Thread Barbara Stahl
Give it some time. They just put those movies on the service. Back in March, I
put on Secretariate and I was very disappointed that there was no audio
description. But then a couple of months later I checked again after someone on
the list said that there was in fact audio description and this time there
actually was audio description. So maybe in a couple of months, they will add
audio description for these movies too.

I'll give you a neat little trick that I found out by playing around.
When you use a recipe or the app to set up something you press the cook now
button and the app tells you to press the start button on the device. If
you have the air fryer connected to your echo or dot, just tell her to
resume the air fryer. There are settings already set up from whatever you
have done in the app and the A lady doesn't realize that it hasn't started
yet, so she just does whatever is in the app that you have set up. Now,
with this, you don't even need the start button. I have marked all the
buttons on my fryer just so I have them marked and know where they are, but
right now I don't even need that start button. Hope this helps you.

I just got the Cosori Smart Air Fryer for Christmas. It easily connects

Hi, how do you find it works with the voice commands. For a lot of the

I sent it back. If they’ve made improvements I might be willing to give it a
second try but I wasn’t really happy with some of the results of this oven
had.

Take for example making toast telling at the number of slices and how
dark you want it. I know that’s just a simple thing but it is a function of
the oven.

I had a hard time telling Alexa what mode and the time.

I also had ahard time finding a reference sheet of what kind of
functions were available with Alexa and how to properly say that. So I’d be
very interested in your experiences.

Hi everyone,
Great news! We no longer store any scanned material with Supersense, so you are
free to use the app with any materials you would like. :) We are also expecting
to have another sale before the summer time, so if you missed the discounted
pricing, there is still hope!

All the best, and happy 2021.

Re: Sonos, a fine product

2021-01-05 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
Bose is not average in sound quality. I have a bose revolve plus
speaker that I bought myself as a Christmas present a couple years
ago. I never used it all that much until last week. The sound
especially for music and audio dramas is amazing. It has enough bass
to have a very full sound and is very detailed. I live at home, so I
couldn't have multiple speakers in different rooms of our house even
if I wanted to. I'm glad that Richard is very happy with his sonos
speakers. I've never heard one of those speakers. I've also got a
google home and that smart speaker has a very good sound as well.

Mullvad VPN

2021-01-05 Thread Terje Strømberg
Hello,

Mullvad VPN in app store is 100% voice over compatible. You do not even
need to go to internet to register an account. Pay about $5 and gget an
account number. Log in with that number and you are done. Copy that number
if you want to activate more IOS devices. Or log into their website.
Mullvad VPN uses wireguard protocol automatically in IOS. Wireguard is the
newest most secure protocol. Really fast server connection. In IOS app
there is only buttons. No text fields for username or passwords. You use
buttons to configure connect to servers.

Buttons named, switch location, browse to country, city , wireguard server
by hitting down arrow.Hit done button. On the front page go down to the
button disconnect, hit it, the button will automatically announce secure
connect, hit it again. This is to be sure that it is connecting correct.
Now you can go to settings, hit the button wireguard key, read the public
encryption key number, hit the button regenerate key, verify key button to
verify thet the public key is valid. When you hit regenerate key, voice over
says toned down text then says regenerate key again. This take about one
second. Done. When hitting the button verify key, voce over says tone down
text and verify key again. This takes from 1 second. Done. Its real.
Matematic. Code skills at the highest behind the app interface. However,
nothing is perfect. Sometimes the verify key button don't work. It's easy
to fix. Go back to the same city and connect to another wireguard server
in the same city. Hit disconnect, hit secure connect. Done. Easy. Works
every time. Usually you don't need to do this a second time. Mullvad has an
default built in kill switch. This deny internet and web connection. If
somebody or something unusual stops or turn off Mulllvad VPN. For example
malware from an hacker. So, if you don't have internet connection after
installing Mullvad VPN, something is wrong. Just change wireguard server in
the same city or another country and you should be on internet again. After
restart of IOS device, Mullvad VPN almost allways reconnects to the last
server. If not, change wireguard server or another city. Mullvad is good
for secure browsing and protect all internett browsing and apps that when
the apps use the internett. If you only want to browse websites, listen to
sSpotify, Tidal, internet radios that are legal in your geographical area,
Mullvad VPN is among the top three apps and i think the best one for me
personally for my use.

If you want to use Netflix in another part of the world or other radio
program like BBC you need to use VPN like torguard.net

This is what i have found out works for me personally with voice over in
IOS. I found out that after installing Mullvad VPN when using mobile
network data sim on iPad pro, voice over works much better on internet with
text fields. Headings etc. there is a problem that when log in to some
internet services the Kaptcha needs to be done. Nothing is perfect.

Take care

use Alexa because if your electricity goes you can’t use your air fryer.
Everyone to his or her opinion. JMT.

Thanks for your prompt attention!
