Iuse one and I love it. The app is very accessible, and you can control most of
its functions from the app. You can also connect it to the Amazon echo if you
wish, but I prefer using the app.

RE: Cosori air fryer review

2021-02-25 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Yes, Alexa and Google Home need to talk to the internet. I experienced this
multiple times last week when I had power and my local wifi working, but I had
no internet access.

That would be why sonos kept working,

That is a great question.
I suspect so, but I’m heading off to the dentist shortly but will see what my
wife and I can sort out.
I should have thought of this myself as last week, around here we lost internet
for 3 days.
However, my Sonos speakers worked so since we did not lose power, the Fryer may
have worked had we had it then as ithe in-house wi-fi seems to have worked.

But, a good question since it would be a shame to not be able to use it if the
internet was out.

Preheat the air fryer to 350

Adjust the air fryer
Alexia, add 30 minutes to the air fryer

Check the air fryers status

Hey Kay, thanks so much for the tip! I tried telling Alexa to “start air

yes, even though my husband had no warning before I bought the thing, he is

Hi Richard,

Wow, I actually have one of these air fryers myself, having just purchased it
within the past couple of weeks, and I still loved your review. LOL I’ll just
say that my family and I use ours pretty much every day. We have cooked a wide
variety of things in it so far, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, pork chops, chicken
tenders and nuggets, several types of fish, pizza rolls, etc. We have also
reheated several things such as leftover pizza and even shepherds pie. I did
put a tactile dot on the start/stop button, because apparently even if you try
to start cooking through the app, which is pretty well accessible by the way,
it still requires a press of the Start button on the touch screen. But for the
most part, I use Alexa for most functions. I loved your whole chicken recipe
though, and am tempted to try it myself. LOL I am also curious about how steak
would turn out, but I digress. :-)

I have both the Apple Air pods 2nd gen and the Beats Power pro. I find the
sound quality on the Air pods superior by far to the Beats. However, the Beats
have a decent sound, longer battery life and fit very securely on the ears. A
bit less comfortable since they do go slightly into the ear canal and mine are
small.

If I could weigh in on this topic,
The Apple AirPods second generation for me sound the most natural.
Also the beats Powerbeats pro are really good because they give you nine hours
battery life.
Also they have hooks that hang over your ears so that they won’t fall off.
I learned that from trainer Kliph.
Hope this helps

If I could weigh in on this topic,
The Apple AirPods second generation for me sound the most natural.
Also the beats Powerbeats pro are really good because they give you nine hours
battery life.
Also they have hooks that hang over your ears so that they won’t fall off.
I learned that from trainer Kliph.
Hope this helps

RE: BT headphones for iPhone12 Pro and Max

2021-02-25 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Yeah that’s just it,

It really depends on what you want to use the bt headphones for,

If music then take some time and find some good quality ones that work well for
you and make your music sound as good as it should be.

If you just want them to talk on the phone to friends with then so long as they
work, what does price matter,
If you want them for both then pay the money and get something like the apple
airpods
Which in most cases are pretty bloody good and you know they will work with
your phone.

We use thick sliced apple wood smoked Hempler bacon.

You preheat it to 320 degrees for five minutes.

Remove the basket and place the bacon in the basket with at least 1/4 inch of
space between the pieces. 6 slices fit with 5 left-to-right and one vertical.

There is a bacon preset that cooks for 6 minutes at 320 degrees, we ended up
doing 8 minutes which had it done, but not burnt, and there was very little
grease.

(interesting factoid: bacon fat’s smoking temperature is 374 degrees. So
keeping it at a lower temperature reduces the smoke.)

It does not have a rotisserie attachment, so you cook it in the basket and flip

It says a 5 to 6 pound chicken will take one hour at 320 degrees.

Our chicken was a little over 5 pounds.

Works with Alexa & Google Assistant,1700W

It is $107.99 at amazon.

The user guide is a fully accessible pdf that you can download from the Cosori
web site.

The setup could probably be done with the app without sighted assistance
because if you have the app open when you first plug it in, you can select add
a device, pick your model from the list and it walks you through connecting it
to your Wi-Fi network.

It even noticed we have an eligible Alexa device and connected it.

>From a blindness perspective, the iOS app could use some adjustments, so I
>decided to do my first experiment, using Alexa, which worked well.

Before your first use, you remove all tags, remove the basket, wash the basket
and the pan that the basket sits in, wipe off the surfaces of the air fryer
inside and out. After drying the washed basket, insert it again into the air
fryer.

I told Alexa, to preheat the Cosori at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. It did.

The air fryer is not any noisier than our microwave oven.

After 5 minutes, it beeped.

You pull out the basket and set it on a heat resistant surface and let cool for
at least 5 minutes.

Then, you put it back in and tell Alexa you want to cook a steak for 5 minutes
at 400 degrees. (leave the basket empty, this is just a test.)

When it is done, remove the basket and again set it on a heat resistant surface
and let it cool for 10 to 30 minutes.

It did not take 10 minutes to cool.

You are then ready to cook your first dish. we decided to cook bacon.

Note, I let my wife put the bacon in the hot pan as I haven't gotten my
silicone gloves yet.

We are hooked. Tonight, we did a whole roasted chicken.

It does not have a rotisserie attachment, so you cook it in the basket and flip
it half way through.

It says a 5 to 6 pound chicken will take one hour at 320 degrees.

Our chicken was a little over 5 pounds.

I used a herb and brown sugar dry-brined that is from the Once Upon A chef web
site that was designed for a 12-14 pound turkey. I cut the recipe in half.

You do not need to preheat the air fryer for the whole chicken.

You put it in the basket and either set it for 1 hour at 320 degrees or tell
Alexa to cook for 1 hour at 320 degrees.

Half way through, you pause the cooking and flip the chicken over.

After it is done, you let it set for 15 minutes.

Let me just say that I will never use the regular oven for a whole chicken
again!

It was perfect. Very moist and the skin was quite crispy, but not burnt.

When my gloves arrive, I will be able to do the whole

RE: Cosori air fryer review

2021-02-25 Thread rick.alfaro
Hi Richard. We have this air fryer and love it but there is one strange quirk
that I found to be very odd when setting up a cook via the app. The app is
quite accessible but when you are done setting your options and hit “start
cooking” you are told to press start on the air fryer control panel. A real
shame as the whole process via the app is completely accessible except for the
last step.

Thankfully one can use Alexa which is great but if you want to use the app you
are out of luck unless you’ve placed a marker on the start button. Have you
run into this at all?

Warmest regards

Yes, but also remember that iPhones have always used the AAC codec, therefore
it will never sound as good on an iPhone as it will on an android, as for some
reason, iPhones seem to like using a codec that is ridiculously old and not

I should have thought of this myself as last week, around here we lost internet
for 3 days.
However, my Sonos speakers worked so since we did not lose power, the Fryer may
have worked had we had it then as ithe in-house wi-fi seems to have worked.

But, a good question since it would be a shame to not be able to use it if the

Hey Jenny,
If you have an echo or dot and you have it connected to the air fryer, you can
tell it to resume the air fryer after you have the recipe programmed in and
even though you haven't started it yet, it will start the fryer. We have

Wow, I actually have one of these air fryers myself, having just purchased it
within the past couple of weeks, and I still loved your review. LOL I'll just
say that my family and I use ours pretty much every day.

RE: Cosori air fryer review

2021-02-25 Thread Richard Turner
In my original review, I mentioned that it works with Google or alexa.
This one was $107.99 through Amazon.

Theoretically, you could mark the buttons, though you would want clear dots
that you could place right on them.
However, the issue is some buttons change with each press, like the preset for
steak defaults to 6 minutes at 400 degrees for rare, 125 degrees. I think it
changes to 8 for medium and 10 for well done with successive presses, but I’m
not sure.

The bottom line is if you are blind and live alone you would need sighted help
to get it set up and marked and even then, you may need sighted help for the
finer adjustments.
I think I’d look for one with tactile dials or buttons first if you wdon’t want
to depend on Alexa.
You can also find out more from the company directly by writing to
supp...@cosori.com
They are not answering the phone right now due to the number of inquires and
Covid19.

When it is done, remove the basket and again set it on a heat resistant surface

Yes, if you do not have a name, Zoom will ask you to enter your name and email
to authenticate that you’re not a robot.
You do not actually have to enter your email, just something that looks like
one. So it must contain an at sign and a period. I have often used
d...@d.com which is definitely not an email address, let
alone mine. I do take the trouble to write at least my first name so I won’t be
iPhone.
If you do this in the Zoom app, it can actually remember you if you check a box
foer that. You can do this without an account.
The supreme advantage to creating a free account is that you can actually save
lots of useful settings including ones for how much zoom chatters. And your
name will be there once for all. But even without it, you can make the signing
in process a little easier than it offers to be.

I think creating a Zoom account and signing into it on the Zoom app will

Have you ever created a Zoom account which included your name and logged into
it with the Zoom app on your iPhone? I did this when I first started using Zoom
in late 2018 and I'm always identified by my name when I attend Zoom meetings
using the Zoom Cloud Meetings app on my iPhone.

Hi,
As it true for most of us, I’m doing a lot more meeting by Zoom and I often
attend via the app on my phone. If it’s a large group meeting where the
attendees do not get to unmute, it seems that I’ll get prompted to register and
enter my display name and email. My annoyance is for those meetings that are
more casual where I’m just directly connected to the meeting. In these, my
display name always comes up as just “iPhone”. I changed the name of my iPhone
in IOS Settings to include my name, but this doesn’t carry over to the Zoom.
Does anyone know how I can change this? While in a meeting, I cannot find
anything in settings that ill allow me to change my display name. If I click
on the link in an email, the Zoom app loads and I’m not prompted to enter a
name. for others who attend via the Zoom app on the phone, have you found a
way to change this or is this just the default for all iPhone app users?

I should have thought of this myself as last week, around here we lost internet

However, my Sonos speakers worked so since we did not lose power, the Fryer may

But, a good question since it would be a shame to not be able to use it if the

You can sign up for the monthly membership at $14.99 a month, and after you
have gotten a book or two, or allowed a credit or two to be in your account,
you can pause your membership and use those credits whenever you want.
You never lose them.
Then, resume your membership when you want to buy another book, etc.

And, again, because they do not use the Digital Rights Management, (DRM), you

My problem with libro.fm is I think each book is to expensive. I can get the
books cheaper through audible. You are correct about bard though. Here in the
U.S. I've got over 1400 bard books on my iPhone I really shouldn't worry about
needing to find anything else to read.
Although, voice dream reader and bookshare is very cool as well.

cannot buy from within the app. You can add it to your list, etc.

I find the web site far easier to use for browsing and for buying for
that very reason.

Before I switched to libro.fm, I had the Gold membership for basically
$149 per year for 12 credits, which comes out to about $12.50 per book.
There is also the platinum plan for I think about $240 per year for 24
credits.

Since Amazon owns both Audible and Alexa, once you have a book in your
Audible Library, you can just ask Alexa to play that title. This
assumes you are using the same account for both, which you probably are.

I switched to Libro.fm because I'm not buying that many books because
I can usually get them here in the United States through NLS, or Bookshare,.
When I want a human read book, I will buy it through Libro.fm because
I can play them on anything that plays mp3 files and a local bookstore
gets half of the price.
The only books they do not have that Audible has are the Audible Originals.

  Hi Richard,

Wow, I actually have one of these air fryers myself, having just
purchased it within the past couple of weeks, and I still loved your review.
LOL I’ll just say that my family and I use ours pretty much every day. We have
cooked a wide variety of things in it so far, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, pork
chops, chicken tenders and nuggets, several types of fish, pizza rolls, etc. We
have also reheated several things such as leftover pizza and even shepherds
pie. I did put a tactile dot on the start/stop button, because apparently even
if you try to start cooking through the app, which is pretty well accessible by
the way, it still requires a press of the Start button on the touch screen. But
for the most part, I use Alexa for most functions. I loved your whole chicken
recipe though, and am tempted to try it myself. LOL I am also curious about how
steak would turn out, but I digress. :-)

My wife and I have been thinking about an air fryer for a long time.

COSORI Smart Wi-Fi Air Fryer 5.8QT(100 Recipes), Digital Touchscreen
with 11 Cooking Presets for Air Frying, Roasting & Keep Warm ,Preheat & Shake
Remind, Works with Alexa & Google Assistant,1700W
It is $107.99 at amazon.
The user guide is a fully accessible pdf that you can download from the
Cosori web site.
The setup could probably be done with the app without sighted
assistance because if you have the app open when you first plug it in, you can
select add a device, pick your model from the list and it walks you through
connecting it to your Wi-Fi network.
It even noticed we have an eligible Alexa device and connected it.
From a blindness perspective, the iOS app could use some adjustments,
so I decided to do my first experiment, using Alexa, which worked well.
Before your first use, you remove all tags, remove the basket, wash the
basket and the pan that the basket sits in, wipe off the surfaces of the air
fryer inside and out. After drying the washed basket, insert it again into the
air fryer.
I told Alexa, to preheat the Cosori at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. It
did.
The air fryer is not any noisier than our microwave oven.
After 5 minutes, it beeped.
You pull out the basket and set it on a heat resistant surface and let
cool for at least 5 minutes.
Then, you put it back in and tell Alexa you want to cook a steak for 5
minutes at 400 degrees. (leave the basket empty, this is just a test.)
When it is done, remove the basket and again set it on a heat resistant
surface and let it cool for 10 to 30 minutes.
It did not take 10 minutes to cool.
You are then ready to cook

I know the books are more expensive, but since I do not buy that many because
of the other availability, and I can support a local bookstore in the process I
do not mind spending $2 or $3 more for a book when I might buy one 2 or 3 times
a year.
You can sign up for the monthly membership at $14.99 a month, and after you
have gotten a book or two, or allowed a credit or two to be in your account,
you can pause your membership and use those credits whenever you want.
You never lose them.
Then, resume your membership when you want to buy another book, etc.

And, again, because they do not use the Digital Rights Management, (DRM), you
can play them on anything, including Voice Dream Reader.

The app does not do a very good job of allowing you to flick through
categories. I think because visually they have pictures of the book cover,
though I do not know why it repeats.

You do not seem to be able to check the price in the app because you cannot buy
from within the app. You can add it to your list, etc.

I find the web site far easier to use for browsing and for buying for that very
reason.

Before I switched to libro.fm, I had the Gold membership for basically $149 per
year for 12 credits, which comes out to about $12.50 per book.
There is also the platinum plan for I think about $240 per year for 24 credits.

Since Amazon owns both Audible and Alexa, once you have a book in your Audible
Library, you can just ask Alexa to play that title. This assumes you are using
the same account for both, which you probably are.

I switched to Libro.fm because I'm not buying that many books because I can
usually get them here in the United States through NLS, or Bookshare,.
When I want a human read book, I will buy it through Libro.fm because I can
play them on anything that plays mp3 files and a local bookstore gets half of
the price.
The only books they do not have that Audible has are the Audible Originals.

Hi I just subscribed to Audible.com although I'm in Canada.
I installed the app on my phone but I have a few questions.
First is there a way in the app to view an entire category of books meaning I
can scan through several books but then it just seems to repeat them so
wondering if there is a way to go through an entire category or genre without
having to go on to the website.
Also if I decide to purchase a book is there a way to see the price of the book
instead of just letting me know I can buy for one credit so I can decide
whether it is best to use a credit or just cheaper to buy the book out right.
Is there anything else I should know or that would be helpful before I start
downloading and listening to books.
Finally I have an echo Dot and I am wondering how I can link my audible account
so that I can listen to the books I have in my library on my device.
Lastly when it comes to the different membership options which choice do some
of you guys have and why and what one do you feel provides the best value for
money.
Thanks in advance.

I have a list on my web site and it is also in the iOS user guide which is a

Karen, you asked if anyone has experience with the Cosori air fryer in response
to a thread all from people who use the Cosori air fryer, so I'm a bit confused
what you are asking.

Hey Jenny,
If you have an echo or dot and you have it connected to the air fryer, you can
tell it to resume the air fryer after you have the recipe programmed in and
even though you haven't started it yet, it will start the fryer. We have
Highmarks just below all of the buttons, but we rarely use them. I love that
air fryer.

Hi Richard,

Wow, I actually have one of these air fryers myself, having just purchased it
within the past couple of weeks, and I still loved your review. LOL I'll just
say that my family and I use ours pretty much every day.

We use thick sliced apple wood smoked

RE: Some questions about the Audible app

2021-02-25 Thread Richard Turner

Also if I decide to purchase a book is there a way to see the price of the book

Is there anything else I should know or that would be helpful before I start

Finally I have an echo Dot and I am wondering how I can link my audible account

Lastly when it comes to the different membership options which choice do some

This will change your name for the current meeting only.
If you want it corrected permanently, you will need to create a free Zoom

Last pass help for changing my password.

2021-02-25 Thread Jenny Bomareto
Hello all,

As the subject implies. Let me tell you what I did so far. I went into
LastPass. Then I went to settings. Somehow I got to generate new password. So I
double tapped on that and then if I remember right once I got the password in a
wife clicked right until it said the password but I can’t it won’t allow me to
edit it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for your prompt attention!
